My Pocket 3 is a week old, I've been using the wireless mic, but I've learned there's time's you might need other types of mics, and USB C is the only hardwired option on this camera. You need a TRS to USB C adapter. The good news is USB C is in addition to the wireless Mic(s). Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro - 1st Week Gadget Freak 2020-07-06 | With the COVID lockdown, I've revived much of my old Tech...., the new ATEM Mini Pro by Blackmagic Design was one of my inspirations in a quest for a better webcam. With COVID, I like many others have become a Zoom aficionado. With a vlogger background, I developed a disdain for crappy 720p webcams on the Mac and subpar webcams (IMHO) by other vendors such as Logitech. I had the old Blackmagic Design UltraStudio video capture card, but it was problematic and Zoom managed to make it inoperable as a webcam on a recent update. Thus, when I saw the ATEM Mini Pro, I had to give it a try. Thus far, no regrets. GH5 6K Photo - Direct import into FCPX 10.4 Gadget Freak 2017-12-21 | Now that you can import H.265 video directly into Final Cut ( Thank You - FCPX 10.4 & High Sierra), it makes shooting 6K video on a GH5 much more attractive. This was my look at the whether it was worth or not. Galaxy Note 8 - Stabilization - Optical v. Gimbal v. 4K Gadget Freak 2017-09-27 | I discovered a few things in this video. I'd always been happy with my Note 5's video. So, I was excited about the Note 8. The picture capability is fantastic. The video quality is great. However, I realized all my phone video experience was on a tripod or standing still. When I went to test "stabilization", I discovered what should've be obvious, as powerful as new phone processors are, they still don't replace cameras, and it's not just the optics.... I'm not an expert, but I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts..I don't monetize my channel, I do these to learn how to use my own equipment. And, hopefully pay-it-forward on stuff I'd want to know if I was interested in on the subject.
Galveston / Crystal Beach Time Lapse Gadget Freak 2017-05-16 | This was taken from the beach house we rented for the week in Crystal Beach on the upstairs porch. Only 1800 Photos! 15 Sec interval. Taken with a GH5.I used LR (Lightroom) in combination with LRTimelapse to create a color corrected image sequence. LRTimelapse will render the video, but I simply imported all 2300 images into FCPX with a duration of 2 frames/image. Because it was so windy, and I didn't have a completely steady tripod, I had some vibration in the fixed part of the video (buildings in Galveston). So I used a plugin in FCPX to stabilize the video. And, voila! My first Video using time-lapse photography.Just the image sequence was 43 GB of JPG stills (10Mb/picture). I kind of screwed up no shooting RAW, but that would've been even more space. Good thing the GH5 has two card slots! :)I think I went thru 3, maybe 4 batteries.... Luckly I have the battery grip for the GH5 which allowed me to hot swap batteries. I'm sure shooting JPG vs. Raw resulted in extra battery use.
Screen Recording Webcam and DSLRs on a Mac Gadget Freak 2017-04-11 | I didn't find very much useful or current info in my YouTube searches on recording of connected cameras. Thought I'd share what I learned. For this test, I have a Logitech C930e, my brand new GH5 (with full-sized HDMI port!) and a Blackmagic Mini Recorder (that basically takes your camera makes it a 1080P webcam). AND, my screen is an LG 38UC99-W 38" 21:9 4K WQHD+ which is 3840 x 1600 Resolution, so not quite 4K (3840x2160), but I adjusted in FCPX.I only work for likes! I have not monetized this site.I tried uploading in 4K, see if it'll play that way, dunno.

Ya, I agree with that. But that was before the pen (sorry Steve Jobs, I like a pen). Ever since I got my Note 5, I've really enjoyed having a pen. It's handy on a phone But it's a must on a tablet.I'm not an artist, but would like to be. I have a Galaxy Tab A w/S-Pen, and I've been doodling on it using AutoDesk Sketchbook. It hit me the other day while watching Casey Neistat and all his hand made notes (that everybody seems to be doing now), why waste paper, why not do that on the sketch pad with a green background. And still get that casual scribbling look. And, record it as a video (.mp4).It turned out to be really easy.
