In this journal entry I'll be fixing my 2nd ZX81 (actually a Timex Sinclair 1000). Its keyboard membrane fell apart a long time ago. I'm going to replace it with an actual ribbon cable, moving he actual sockets nearer to the keyboard, which will make it hopefully last a long time by alleviating the stress of bending the brittle membrane.
