Join me as we learn a little something about this ancient monument, which many pass but few ever venture into. - - - - - - - - - - - - Dorset Stone Circles.For anyone that's interested, here are the stone circles in Dorset that I've been able to find. There's a question mark over some of them.All of these are complete enough to be considered stone circles. Nine Stones (see video)Kingston Russell Hampton DownRempstone (Southern part destroyed apparently. I will be doing a video on these. Stones + woodland = my kind of place!! 😄)Valley of Stones circle (though the age of this is less clear and its location seems to cause some discussion. But it is a circle for the most part.) These are less complete, but thought to have been stone circles originally. Little MayneBroadstone (possibly part of a circle just up the road to the west of Nine Stones. A stone circle was recorded in the 1600s by the Antiquarian John Aubrey. 3 stones were recorded in the 1930s. I included this one in the 6 I mentioned, but probably should have left it out.)Hangman's Rocks. (Now only 1 remaining, but there were apparently 3 in 1765)These are mere speculation as far as I can tell, because they've been greatly dismantled.
