This is the fastest/most reliable setup we have currently.
Getting into the correct position:
- Roll or walk full speed into loading zone
- Turnaround, neutral roll
- 3 slash combo (Neutral, Right, Right)
- 3 slash combo + Hold B to spin attack (Neutral, Right, Right)
- Vertical slash (Hold R)
- Turnaround Crawl

Getting the correct angle
- C Up to force camera be behind Link
- Turnaround
- C Up and aim as far up as possible
- Pause buffer fully left
- Rotate 2 1/2 times until the frame shown (I use the B button as a visual que)
- Pull a bomb and pause buffer until Link's arm forms a 90 degree angle
- If you miss the frame, throw the bomb and try again with a new one
- Once on the correct frame, press B on the unpause to drop the bomb and clip (this is frame perfect)
- Leaf pump to the area behind the song stone

Part of the No MSS TAS I'm currently working on. This is useful info for RTA so thought I'd make a vid of it.
Frame Data:
Sidehop in beginning saved 1 frame
Doing Back + Forward combo and a Back + Back combo saves 4 frames over the normal Back + Forward twice. The Orca text comes out faster with a Back + Back combo.
After quick parry, hold L + forward to have the next parry come out faster. If you don't hold any direction the next parry comes out several frames later.
Sidehop + jumpslash saves 2 frames over normal jumpslash (if frame perfect)
Yes you can skip gaps but Hena yells at you and tells you "no cheating".

- ESS turn is the easiest part to fail. Make sure your stick position is perfect left. I look down at my controller for it. You should have a facing direction value of 48268 after the turn.
- Do not go too fast for the crawling

It turns out that all chests in a dungeon are loaded no matter where you are on the map. They are hookshottable and standable. You can't open them unforntunately.

This looks much simpler than it is.
X/Z coordinates need to be within a tolerance of at least 0.001 and you must press b to drop the bomb on one specific frame of Link's swaying animation.
The setup itself takes ~15s to setup and you get to spam the canon for the fastest possible game.
In comparison, every missed shot wastes 8-9s per shot if you play the game legitimately.
In theory, this strategy is slower if you play both games without missing any barrels.
11:30 wind waker is definitely a solid time for my current skill level, though it can be faster by 30s (in theory) .
DRC can be improved by as much as 30s, although 20s is more practical (shoutouts to storage deciding to not work at 19:00 losing me 10s).
Sloppy movement inside DRI but I'm pretty certain good movement in there is impossible.
I'd like to go for sub 29, depends on my free time.
I've had runs 30s faster at the autocharge. Missed rock throw entering DRC. Very sloppy DRC. Didn't get completely destroyed by bokoblin RNG for once though.
1. Get storage
2. Store right stone
3. Pull Wind Waker and close it before the text appears (DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP OR IT WON"T WORK)
4. Pull sail
5. cancel pulling sail by closing textbox
6. Pull Wind Waker infront of left stone to learn it
This saves a few seconds in a standard non manual swim any% run. However this can potentially save 35 seconds in a manual swim run as we currently don't skip this cutscene. Need a fast route to come here with the sail.
I completely yolo'd everything after getting the wind waker. Definitely lost multiple minutes in DRC alone, not to mention the swim it self can be done like 3 minutes faster. Just had to claim my free rekky.
Overall this skips about 60 seconds of combat. At the moment this current despawn route takes longer than it saves but we can likely improve it and simplify it to hopefully make this viable in a speedrun.
Actor despawn glitch is normally very temperamental and difficult to pull off consistently. This specific one for whatever reason is incredibly consistent as long as you follow these steps. I was able to successfully perform this on console without it ever failing.
I discovered recently that you can get extra distance with a Makar teleport by brushing against a wall first, allowing us to skip the command melody entirely in the first room.
Unfortunately this would be difficult to route into the current any%. The 100 rupee chest is very beneficial and routing damage to be a quarter heart without loosing time would also be difficult.
If we can figure out a decent way to keep the tuner on after mirror shield then this route should be considered. For now though this is an IL route only.
