In late 1967 he received a special audio recording from Paul Frees encouraging him to continue. (Koenigsberg was friends with Ed Newman, whose father, Robert Newman, ran the recording studio NewJack Recorders, where Frees liked to record. Ed Newman would later be one of the co-founders of Calabash Animation in Chicago.)

Adventures On The Isle of Adolescence (1994) David Koenigsberg 2015-08-07 | An animated short about a woman in her 30's being interested in a skateboarding teenage boy.Pamala Karol ("La Loca") would perform this poem and others at local punk concerts and other happenings in Los Angeles in the 80's. This Is CinemaScope! (1987) Audio Only David Koenigsberg 2015-07-10 | To promote its new Todd-AO anamorphic lens, New Hollywood Inc. produced an animated short film, "This Is CinemaScope" (1987). The short extolled the great virtues and ease of shooting in anamorphic. The 35mm film was only 2 minutes long (the music runs 4 minutes).The short was presented for only one night at the company's 1987 anniversary party. It was produced and projected:* At one frame per second.* Through the same lens which photographed the art.* On the same animation stand which photographed the art.It was projected in New Hollywood's animation camera room which was renamed, for one night only, the Rotorama Theater.The film was wildly successful and had a huge impact on the animation community. Blondie, AutoAmerican commercial (1980) David Koenigsberg 2015-07-07 | Blondie was scheduled to appear on "Saturday Night Live" in October 1980. Their label, Chrysalis, bought air time on the show in support of their performance and their upcoming album, "AutoAmerican." Unfortunately (and all too typically) the label had no commercial.Their advertising firm came to New Hollywood, Inc. (an animation camera service) with nothing but the cover art and one track. We had about one week and one take to produce this commercial. Whatever we shot would be satellited to New York to be run with the show.We finished shooting on Friday night when it got developed and then uplinked to NBC's broadcast center on Saturday when it ran that night. Osvaldo "Ozzie" Zornizer shot the commercial.

While the take-offs and landing patterns are very predictable, it was akin to shooting wild nature.The film is a homage to Leni Reifenstahl's "Olympia" (1938).
