This is in stage 4 though. If you haven't reached stage 4 yet, actually I think level 1 is pretty good for a X2 Growth power-up too, using a path sort of like in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=PlwERixdjPs But only if it's not full of small slimes. :S I don't think anybody wants to eat a bunch of new players.
Stage 4 is extra full of lush slime food, and this particular field in stage 4 is even more so. You can sure put this field to good use even if you don't have the x2 growth power-up: youtube.com/watch?v=FUxCF2j8ss4 ... It's a great place for pet experience or simply gold from completed slimes too.
In practice I don't actually rush off to level 4 when I get a 2X growth power-up though. I normally just use it wherever I am, provided I am the only slime there.
