Today we’re taking a look at the Cooler Master CMP 520 mid tower Gaming PC Case courtesy of Cooler Master. The CMP520 is a midrange value case from Cooler Master that offers good case airflow with the three included CF120 fans as well as some ARGB goodness. I’ll be building a Ryzen 7 7700x system in the case in order to evaluate build quality and cooling performance.
The CMP520 is a solid midrange case offering support for up to a 350mm long graphics card and supporting up to a 160mm tall tower cooler if you opt to go with aircooling in this case. This case has a mesh front panel to allow the three included CF120 fans to create a good amount of airflow and air pressure inside of the case. By default, the fans are all installed in the front position. The front panel does support either the three installed 120mm fans or two 140mm fans for air cooling support. These fans are controlled by the ARGB fan hub that’s included with the case. The ARGB fan hub supports 4 total fans using the 3pin RGB headers. If you want to run an AIO for your CPU or GPU, you can install a 240mm or 280mm AIO in the front as well as the top of the case. There's a 120mm rear fan mount as well to help exhaust warmer air. There are 3 mesh elements on this case in order to help with airflow and dust reductions, the front panel is a 3d geode design with a mesh panel, the top of the case has a magnetic dust filter and the button of the case has a mesh filter for the power supply. This case does feature a PSU shroud which normally helps with hiding the excess cabling and extra hard drives and SSDs. The PSU shroud on this case does have some air vents over the PSU area as well which is a nice added touch.

Today we’re taking a look at the CS330 NAS case from SilverStone. A while back I built a backup UnRAID server for my primary storage NAS. I used an older Antec case but it’s time to replace that aging chassis with something a little more elegant and functional. I reached out to SilverStone to check out this CS330 mATX storage focused chassis. The CS330 is an interesting take on an mATX storage case. It features support for four 3.5inch hard drives in the standard hard drive cage inside of the case. In addition to the traditional hard drive cage, there's room for another 3.5inch drive directly below the cage. In addition to those 5 bays, there's x3 more 3.5inch hard drive bays on top of the case in a USB 3.0 connected enclosure for a total of x8 3.5inch hard drives or x7 3.5inch hard drives and x1 2.5inch drive either mechanical or SSD. That’s a decent amount of drives to stuff into a case that measures in at 8.27inches wide, 14.72inches high, and 15.16 inches deep. The case clocks in at just over 30 liters at 30.2 liters weighing about 13.3lbs. For my usage as a backup UnRAID server, 8 total 3.5inch drive bays in a smaller than standard ATX size is perfect. The main cooling in this case comes from the included 180mm AP181 fan which pushes 52.4 cfm at a static pressure rating of 0.49mm to H20 at 600RPM while generating about 15.9db of sound. The AP181 fan can spin up to 900 and 1200 RPM as well pushing 78.68cfm at 1.12mm to h20 of static pressure with 24.75db worth of sound at the midrange and 100.27cfm at 2.18mm to H20 of static pressure at a sound level of 30db maximally. Since this fan is so large, it's going to be covering the 4 hard drive cage as well as a good portion of the case above the hard drive cage. A rear fan isn’t included here but could definitely be beneficial if you’re maxing out the amount of drives inside of the CS330 or if you’re putting a high power and higher heat producing CPU into this case.

Today we’re taking a look at the Arctic Freezer 4U SP3 Threadripper CPU cooler. The Freezer 4U SP3 CPU cooler is an absolutely massive CPU cooler meant for custom built Threadrippper and Epyc based servers. Arctic sent this Freezer 4U over so I could test it out and make this review video on my Threadripper 1920x based UnRaid storage server. I run some really CPU intensive dockers on my UnRaid Threadripper server. Even though this setup is all housed inside of a large 4U Rosewill RVS-L4500 chassis, the 90mm Noctua cooler that I was using didn’t allow for good boost speeds and was actually throttling after several hours of heavy encoding sessions. The Arctic 4U SP3 is a massively large cooler as I mentioned, coming in at 152mm tall, 156mm wide, and 124mm long with a total weight of 1,288 grams. This heatsink comes with two fans that have an range of 400 to 2300rpm push a maximum of 71.9CFM each at static pressure of 3.3mm/H20 which is relatively high. The high static pressure is used well since the Freezer 4U has 59 total fins for heat dissipation. As you can probably tell by these specs, this heatsink is no joke, it’s purpose built for custom Threadripper and Epyc based compute servers. You might wonder why do I or anyone else for that matter need a cooler this beefy though? Well, in my case, I take all of my Linux ISOs and I compress them with Handbrake using a very slow placebo preset. I do this because it's cheaper for me to compress then buy more disks even when you consider shucking cheap hard drives. In order to keep my 12 core 24 thread gen 1 Threadripper running though, lots of heat needs to be removed from the CPU. Arctic self rates this cooler at a crazy 300w worth of TDP meaning they believe this cooler can pretty much cool any of the current SP3, TR4, sTRX4 and sTRX 8 CPUs.

Today we're taking a look at the S1 projector from Xidu. Xidu reached out to me to take a look at this projector and after seeing the specs, I was very curious so I agreed to check it out in a review. Projectors are a bit of a newer arena for me but, I do consume a lot of media and play a lot of games. The S1 includes the projector itself, the remote control, power and HDMI cables, as well as a 3.5mm to component splitter cable. The remote has several buttons on it for navigating the menus and configuration options but the projector also has built in buttons for core functionality. The S1 projector is rated at 550 lumens worth of brightness along with having support for HDR10 for reproducing vibrant scenes in your media and gaming. The projector supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi connections to enable casting from your Android or iPhone devices which I found to be quite useful, I normally cast a lot on my main TV for reference. This projector also has two 10 watt stereo speakers if you don’t have a sound bar to use with it which is pretty neat. If you do have a soundbar though, you can use one of the connection methods to get it connected, either bluetooth, HDMI, 3.5mm audio. The resolution of the S1 projector is 1920 by 1080 but the projector will accept higher inputs. As for the colors and the speed of color changes, I chose to test this projector out connected to one of my gaming PCs. I ran both Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs for a little bit then captured the built in benchmark modes for each game. The image reproduction looked quite good to me, I didn’t get the sense that there was very much if any lag in color changes or any issues during movement with the image quality. I had to film the gaming session off to the side but rest assured, the picture was nice and even. Depending on what you're displaying, the S1 does support zooming in which is also a nice touch. In terms of the types of input for video and image playback, it seems like any HDMI streaming stick like Roku or Chromecast will work just fine. The S1 projector even supports media files on a USB stick with its included USB ports. As for the bluetooth I mentioned earlier, the distance was pretty good, I was able to walk about 20 feet from the S1. It was also interesting that the projector itself could just act as a bluetooth speaker. Overall, I found the S1 from Xidu to be an interesting device. I liked the video quality and that I was able to connect the soundbar that I already use to it. If you’re looking for a value packed type of projector, I would definitely take a look at this one.

Thermal paste is messy. It's usually viscous, sticky, and a little bit of a pain to clean up off of your CPUs and GPUs. I personally have been using the cheapest but also junkiest alcohol wipes I could find on amazon to clean up my pastes. Well, no more! I know what you’re thinking, no, this isn’t a paid advertisement but, Arctic did send over a batch of their MX cleaning wipes for me to use and test out. As I said, I usually buy cheaper alcohol pads and I typically end up using a few just to get the IHS and heatsink fully cleaned when I disassemble systems. I like the MX wipes for a few reasons. Firstly, they’re huge compared to what I was using, these measure in at 115mm by 115mm when unfolded so there’s easily enough material here to do a CPU and heatsink with just one wipe. I also really liked that these wipes aren’t alcohol based, alcohol wipes are always drying out my skin, tech youtuber problem perhaps but I bet some of you will appreciate this. Arctic says the active ingredient is limonene based, no alcohol or benzens. You might ask what are Benzenes? Apparently a common cleaning chemical that's basically terrible for you, thank you Arctic for not using that and as always, thank you to Google for scaring me into reading more product labels. The wipes are also biodegradable which is nice to see. Each of the wipes are individually packed to keep them fresh for casual use over time when you need them for repasting GPUs or CPU and cooler upgrades. As for the usage, I thought I’d try the worst case, cleaning off a threadripper sized CPU and heatsink. These wipes did an extremely good job cleaning off the huge amount of paste I put on my 1920X thredripper CPU. I only ended up needing one of these wipes to do the job since it was large and quite good at breaking down the paste and absorbing it into the wipe. The wipes do have a certain fragrance I guess you would say but, it wasn’t bad, just different from what you expect from traditional alcohol wipes. Not to say though that alcohol wipes smell good, they don’t. Since these wipes are incredibly effective for the job, relatively inexpensive, and environmentally friendly, I would definitely say I’ll be picking up more of these in the future. You can snag these in a 40 pack for a pretty solid price. Usually these are either under or around $10 on Amazon so, a good value overall.

Today we’re taking a look at expanding the storage in my Threadripper UnRaid server. I use my UnRaid server as my main bulk media backup and video storage server as well as for software and ISO storage. I’ve been wanting to build some VMs and even virtualize VMware ESX on my UnRAID server for a while now. In order to do this though, I needed a storage array dedicated to virtual machineusage in order to make sure the performance was good. I do have an NVMe cache drive but my NAS is always busy in terms of file transfers, PC back ups, and I do run a few dockers on this NVMe cache drive as well. As for my drive connectivity, the motherboard I am using is an AsRock X399M with 8 SATA ports on the motherboard. This is actually a very good amount of SATA ports for a motherboard despite it being a micro atx but, I already used all 8 of these ports for the main hard drive array. Now I could have bought a PCI express HBA or raid card to flash into IT mode to give me those extra SATA ports for another SSD array but I worked with SilverStone to send over the SDP11 and the ECS07.
🔥 Cool Stuff on Amazon: amzn.to/3B6Gqru 🔥🔥
The SDP11 is a nifty adapter that fits into a 3.5inch drive bay which gives you the slots for up to four m.2 SATA SSDs. This is an efficient way to use the limited 3.5inch drive bays in my server for an all SSD array. The IcyDock adapters I used in my TrueNas for example, only allow two standard 2.5inch SSDs per 3.5inch hard drive bay. The adapter does require x1 SATA data cable for each SSD used but it saves on total SATA power connections only requiring x1 SATA power connection for all four drives. For UnRaid servers such as mine and probably yours, this is a really cool little device. Now, back to my lack of available SATA ports on my motherboard. I can’t connect any of these M.2 SATA drives. Here’s where the SilverStone ECS07 comes in. The ECS07 is a SATA controller built on an M.2 PCB which connects to your system with an otherwise unused M.2 interface. On my X399M Threadripper motherboard, I had x1 left over M.2 slot which was unused. A lot of consumer motherboards that I see people using in UnRaid servers also have extra unused M.2 ports. Why not turn these empty M.2 slots into a few extra SATA ports? So with the SDP11 and the ECS07 I’ve just added an additional 4 total usable M.2 SATA connections with x1 leftover SATA port for another project. These SilverStone accessories really came in handy for this project, I’ve only consumed x1 of my 3.5inch hard drive bays which means I can keep shucking western digital drives to grow the main array out but, I can still have my normal NVMe cache drive AND I can have another SATA SSD array just for virtual machines or in my case, another whole instance of VMware ESXi for my Homelab.

Finally grabbed the complete Bluray edition of the Smallville series! I loved this show gorwing up. Before I watch them all though, I HAVE to back these up! The best way to watch bluray you own is to put them on your NAS after backing them up. It's your media, watch it the way you want to!
I'll be detailing my DVD/Bluray backup solution soon so, stay tuned by subscribing!

Figured I would give CyberPunk 2077 another spin since its been a while since I played last. This is a 1440p High preset benchmark run with FSR and DLSS completely disabled. I am running an overclock around 2000MHz core and the memory was overclocked by about 500mhz. This is the EVGA RTX 3060 XC and my CPU is a Ryzen 3900XT. Overall, not bad in my opinion, a low of 38.13fps, a high of 61.37fps and an average frame rate of 49.01fps. I’d probably suggest running cyberpunk 2077 1440p high with dlss quality enabled, even if you’re overclocked.

#3dmark #speedway #rtx #gaming #benchmark
Today were taking a look at the brand new #dMark benchmark called Speedway. According to 3dMark this benchmark is designed for the next generation of gaming experiences. Speedway is meant to test your systems DirectX12 Ultimate and Ray Tracing performance. I’m benchmarking my Ryzen 7700X and RTX 3060Ti here. Upper left corner is a stock run, upper right is a GPU only overclocked run, and lower right is a cpu and gpu overclock. Stock, the system scored 2,782 points. With a GPU overclock, the system was able to score 3,018 points for about an 8.4% increase. When running with everything overclock. 5.4GHz all core, DDR5 6000 CL34, and the RTX 3060Ti overclocked into the 2GHz core and 7700 memory range, the system scored 3,026 points. From what it looks like, this is purely a GPU benchmark tool, there's not much in the way of CPU performance being tested here. It’s an interesting benchmark since there's a custom interactive mode and it's relatively short.

Here’s my current homelab setup. Empty case for a future server, got the UPS shelf, 4U unraid bulk storage server, 2u pfsense firewall router, pull out screen and keyboard diag tool, my main VMware ESX 7.0 host, TrueNAS which provides iscsi storage, and of course my main access switch. The back side of the rack is rough…work in progress. What are you all running out there?

Today we’re taking a look at the Boean PD 65w USB charging station. Boean contacted me to take a look at this charging station and I thought it was a nice little device and priced well. The Boean charger utilizes an AC outlet in order to provide up to 65 total watts worth of power output through the ports on the station combined. Included with the charging station you’re obviously getting the main power cable, the charge station itself, and a small set of instructions that list the maximum power output for each port. The charge station is capable of charging a Macbook pro with the center 65w USB-C connection, that's a pretty neat feature. Other brands of USB-C chargeable laptops and tablets aren't listed but, if you can charge your device with up to 65 watts of power over USB-C, there's a decent chance it will work. As for the other 4 charge ports, there’s two 15 watt max USB A ports and two Quick Charge 3.0 20 watt max USB A ports. I charged up my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, two USB power banks, and my Google Pixel Buds relatively quickly with this charger. I’m happy to report I didn't have any connection issues that require reseating the USB cables either. After charging all of the devices for about 20 minutes, the main charge station was only mildly warm to the touch which is awesome, its not crazy inefficient at charging these devices. I really liked that the bottom of the charge station also had that kind of rubber that helps prevent the device from moving on smooth surfaces. If you’re looking for a charge only USB-C charging station, this Boean PD charge station seems like a great device.

Today we're taking a look at the integrated GPU of the Ryzen 7700x. We'll be going through a stock and memory overclock run of 3dmark Night Raid. The stock config is stock clocks with DDR4800 and the overclocked run is with the CPU at 5.3GHz all core with DDR5 6000 cl 34 memory. As you're undoubtedly seeing, the pretty big memory overclock basically isn't helping performance at all. The igpu on Ryzen 7000 is so incredibly cut down there's not much you can do to tweak it even for a few percent. There's no bios options on my ASRock x670e pg lightning motherboard for igpu overclocking, there didn't seem to be capability on Ryzen Master either. Maybe this will get added a little bit later on, not sure but I hope so. I know these igpus weren't meant to replace the traditional AMD APU offerings but they really seem cut down. You can play eSports titles though, league of legends, maybe fornite at 720p with performance mode enabled. Both totally stock and with the memory overclock, the GPU score is around 3,320 points best case. That put the igpu around the performance of the much older and forgot Intel HD 5500. If any of you want to see actual gaming benchmarks, let me know in the comments section and I will revisit but for now, this is truly just a video output feature instead of a hold over until your new GPU arrives. Like, comment, subscribe and stay tuned for new videos.

The stock ILM is not applying pressure correctly as shown here with my 12th gen CPU. If you're buying into the LGA1700 platform or you haven''t remounted your cooler yet to look for yourself, the stock ILM is not applying pressure evenly all around hte CPU which is probably hurting your max load temps. You might be loosing out on some FPS!

Today we’re taking a look at the Silverstone ECL01 nic. I asked Silverstone to send one of these over so I could test it with the multigigabit EnGnius switch I recently reviewed. The ECL01 is a 2.5 gigabit capable add on card for upgrading your older gaming or workstation pcs. 2.5gig nics are becoming more common but are mostly only offered on the bleeding edge or higher end motherboards right now. If you’re gaming on an older but still capable system that only has gigabit networking, the ECL01 is a good choice for 2.5gig connectivity. In my setup, I’m frequently transferring large media files, linux isos if you will, and have found that my bottleneck was the network capability. On my main PC I have a PCIe NVMe ssd which is way more than capable of maxing out a 1gbps nic. On my storage servers, I have cache devices that are also PCIe NVMe. This means my network transfer speeds are capped at just over 100 to 110 megabytes per second. I recently reviewed an EnGenius ECS2512 switch which had multigigabit 2.5 capable copper ports. I used the Silverstone ECL01 on my test PC in order to test copies and writes to and from my storage server with the nvme cache drives. The speed increase was awesome. Sure it’s not 10gig but the 2.5 gigabit per second stand allows you to reuse most in place cabling as long as its cat 5e or better and the cables weren’t poorly made. 10gig usually requires more expensive switches and can often mean recabling your devices. So in terms of complexity, I only had to install the nic and the driver then connect it to my switch with existing cabling in order to get a boost in networking of up to 260-270 megabytes per second. Pro tip though, download the latest realtek RTL8125BG-CG driver before you power your PC down to install the card. The ECL01 does have that small LED header on it so you can connect your case's NIC LEDs directly to your new network card so you can still see the Network activity lights. Since the ECL01 utilizes the Realtek RTL8125GB-CG controller, you can download and install the Realtek Dragon Feature qos software. In the Dragon feature software you can assign priority to different apps to help optimize your experience. In my Use-case, I didn't need this but it is an option and as of this time of this video at least, it's free to download and use.

Today we’re taking a look at the Ryzen 7700X paired with the RTX 3060TI and 32 gigabytes of ddr5 5600 cl36 memory in 3dMark TimeSpy. In the top left we have the stock configuration. The Top right has the stock CPU clock with the overclocked RTX 3060Ti. The bottom right has the 7700X overclocked to 5.3GHz all core with the stock RTX 3060Ti. And the bottom right has the overclock 7700x locked at 5.3GHz all core and the RTX 3060TI overclocked. The RTX 3060Ti overclock was typically in the 1950 to 2000 megahertz range and the memory was clocked to 7500. The video has been sped up by 250% to save time but all frames were recorded correctly.
As we can see, the GPU overclock provided the largest single performance increase at 6.12 percent. The CPU only overclock only netted 0.26% improvement. The CPU and GPU overclock achieved a 6.68% increase in overall score.

Today we’re taking a look at the AMD Ryzen 7700X in Cenebench. I’ll be testing both stock and an all core overclock of 5.4GHz. We are going through Cinebench R20 first. For reference, the test system is of course the Ryzen 7700X, the CPU is being cooled by the massive ThermalRight PA120, the motherboard is an Asrock X670E PG Lightning, I’m running 32 gigabytes of G.Skill 5600 CL 36 DDR5 memory, an RTX 3060TI and this is all inside of a be quiet Pure Base 500DX. For the stock run we can see the Ryzen 7700x scored 7,682 points where the 5.4GHz all core overclock scored 8,172 for a gain of about 6.38%. Let the R23 session begin. By the way, the stock core temperatures were hovering around 93 to 95 celsius by the end of the both tests. The overclocked CPU temps were between 97 to 100 celsius. It will work, but even with a beefy air cooler, manual overclocks really require all in one or custom watercooling. The stock R23 run scored 19,539 points and the 5.4GHz all core overclock scored 20,821 points for a gain of about 6.5%.
I try to make these videos short and sweet. If you found this one helpful, hit that like button, get subscribed for more benchmarking and head to head AMD Vs Intel testing. I’ll have links to my test system in the description below so make sure to check that out.

I needed to setup some kind of workbench style bench to test newly built gaming PCs for CPU and GPU releases. I took an old garage workbench for tools and sanded it down then put FOUR coats of urethane over every surface in order to make the workbench nice to use and easy to work on top of. Overall, except for the funky sanded and faded yellow, this worked out super well. I'm currently storing some cases, parts, my screen capture PC and a test machine.

EnGenius ECS2512FP: amzn.to/3fCuCbc
Today we’re taking a look at the EnGenius ECW220S cloud managed access point courtesy of EnGenius. The ECW220S is an enterprise grade Wi-Fi 6 AP from EnGenius featuring a two by two antenna setup with a maximum data transfer rate of 574Mbps on the 2.4GHz radio and a maximum data rate of 1,200Mbps on the 5GHz radio. Support the 802.11 standards up to AX means that this AP should be able to handle quite a bit of persistent traffic from various clients. The ECW220s has a 1gbps port and does support 802.3AT PoE or power over ethernet power with a maximum power draw of 12.8W. In terms of feature support, you’re of course getting a rich feature set with EnGenius, WPA3 Enterprise, DFS channel support, EnGenius AirGuard scanning to detect rogue APs, Zero wait DFS, RF spectrum analysis, dedication scanning radio, and a few other Enterprise grade features.
So these EnGenius access points are cloud managed. What does that mean? The configuration will be handled through your EnGenius cloud account and not locally even though there is a local webgui you can access for the APs. The secret sauce in the EnGenius system is the cloud management aspect. EnGenius offers core functionality for free through its cloud service which only requires an email address to sign up for. This means basic setup for the AP, creating your Wi-Fi networks, enabling meshing if supported, and configuring your VLANs is all included with the basic or free EnGenius cloud account. Generally speaking, when purchasing EnGenius devices you are going to get a complimentary 1 year subscription to the Pro services for that device. This does not require a credit card by the way which is an extremely appreciated policy. One really neat feature of the Pro cloud subscription though is AirGuard. AirGuard can search for other APs broadcasting the same SSID as your main network. This is important to know in a corporate setting, you’ll want to know if someone is attempting to carry out nefarious activities with regard to your Wi-Fi network. As I mentioned before, creating VLANs and SSID and then pushing them down to your switches and APs is free and quite easy through the cloud management interface meaning growing your network will come at a very low cost in terms of IT support.

I drove 5 hours to a Microcenter to pick up this crazy deal. Bought a Ryzen 7700X and got a FREE 32gb G.Skill DDR5 5600 CL36 memory kit. Free DDR5 memory? They must be CRAZY!. I picked up the Asrock X670E PG Lightning motherboard with the $20 CPU discount. Since it was my first MC CPU buy, I snagged the extra 25$ coupon. Absolutely crazy limited deal, glad I jumped on it!

Do you repair PCs as a hobby or professionally? You NEED one of these! This driverless adapter allows you to plug in any 2.5inch SSD or HDD into your PC for backups or Data recovery. Read and write performance was great in testing with a Samsung EVO 850 SSD. Would definitely recommend.

Been busy building up resources for YouTube this year. Built out some storage from these Amazon wire rack shelving units. Got some more storage for parts and previous builds in between benchmarking and homelab tasks. Over here I have my custom sketchy built wood table. This will hold in progress and frequently used text bench PCs and of course server as my main benchmarking space.

Four 10gigabit and eight 2.5 multi gigabit ports - if you're moving some serious data in your homelab like I am or you're running an SMB with local hypervisors and storage, you definitely should be looking at this EnGenius switch. Today we're taking a look at the EnGenius ECS2512 multi gigabit switch. I had reached out to EnGenius to send this over for review so I could test out in my homelab setup and really put the switch through its paces. I'll be connecting my ESX hypervisor and both my UnRAID and TrueNAS servers with 10gb as well as utilizing the 2.5gbps ports for studio machines. As we buy faster and faster storage, we definitely need faster and faster networking. Most modern NVMe SSDs can vastly outpace a gigabit connection and if you work with large files like video files, you can end up being bottlenecked by gigabit networking. The 2.5gigabit standard allows reuse of most existing cat 5e cabling and above to enable more bandwidth with a new switch and network adapter. Now that many newer motherboards come with 2.5gbit networking, it makes even more sense to make the jump for the extra speed. While I didn’t need it for my application, you can get this switch in the PoE flavor too, which is awesome to see as I think in the future we may see some 2.5gbps wireless aps and possibly other devices beyond PCs.
The management functions on this switch are relatively well thought out and implemented. I was able to do pretty much everything I needed with the local configuration. For a switch such as this, I really see it being positioned in an SMB type business setting so, ease of configuring VLANs and of course ease of overall management seem like the biggest opportunities to impress. In order to configure VLANs it seemed like the webgui required configuration on two pages, both the 802.1q and PVID pages. Other than these not being combined on one page somehow, I was able to get a few test vlans created to get a practice run in for creating all of my networks. In terms of the management options for the ECS2512, you are indeed able to configure, operate, and install new firmware on this switch without EVER registering the switch with the EnGenius cloud application. It will work just fine and requires no connection to the cloud or the internet in order to function. That being said, EnGenius has really made a name for itself in the industry for making remote management of EnGenius networking devices extremely easy with the EnGenius cloud and mobile apps.

EVGA Announces no more NVIDIA GPUs... Or GPUs at all from EVGA!!??
EVGA CEO says that NVIDIA has been creating extremely unfavorable conditions for EVGA over the years and this was just the last straw. EVGA has indicated they no longer desire to manufacture graphics cards. Crazy technews! Stay tuned to see if EVGA will partner with AMD or Intel!

Today we’re taking a look at the T6 bluetooth earbuds. These are an ultra value pair of bluetooth earbuds coming in at a low price with some handy features, good sound, and at an affordable price. These earbuds are utilizing bluetooth 5.3 which features enhanced bluetooth security, battery life, and of total throughput as well as range which is miles above the older bluetooth standards. The T6 buds are equipped with a 10mm driver to amp up the sound. In my testing, I tested a few bass heavy songs as well as some faster music, and even some pop music. I was surprised given the price of the earbuds how well they were able to perform. I switched out my pixel buds for a few days to use these and I must say they did pretty well overall in terms of sound enjoyment from music, videos, and a few game sessions here and there. There is a specific game and music mode that you can put the earbuds in but I didn’t notice a huge difference between the modes. The sound was generally speaking good enough so it didn’t end up mattering, at least for my ears. Each of the earbuds are rated for up to 7 hours of playback which is decent, the earbud case should be able to fully recharge the both earbuds up to x5 times, or up to 10 for a single bud giving you up to 70 total hours. The buttons on the sides of the ear buds are capacitive, you get the standard volume down and volume up functions with the left and right buttons. You can also press longer for track skip forwards and backwards. Overall, I would say if your primary earbud usage is going to be listening to music, videos, or gaming, and a light amount of calling, you’ll be quite happy with this set of earbuds.

Today we’re taking a look at the i5-12400 vs the i5-12600k in Cinebench R23. I’ll be running both CPUs at stock power limits with a high end case and cooler to remove any temperature throttling. The i5-12400 is of course a 6 core 12 thread budget gaming CPU and the 12600k is a midrange 6 P-core 12 thread plus 4 E-core CPU. The 12400 at stock power limits can run up to 4.4ghz across all six cores while the 12600k's P-cores can hit 4.9ghz and the E-cores can hit 3.4GHz. Both CPUs represent a great value for both gaming and compute tasks. The 12400 with stock power limits is scoring on average about 12,350 points and the 12600k with stock power limits is scoring about 17,600 points. The 12600k scored about 42% higher which makes sense given the higher clock speed and extra 4 E-cores. The 12600k is definitely the best mid range gaming pick at the moment from Intel but if you need to save some cash for your build, the i5-12400 is still a worthy choice for gaming and streaming.

Today we’re taking a look at the XG850 Plus Platinum rated ARGB Gaming PSU from Cooler Master! This is one of Cooler Master’s newest Power Supply designs for high end gaming rigs. The XG Plus PSUs come in both traditional non RGB and the ARGB type that I have here. The XG Plus PSUs are offered in a 650watt, 750 watt, and 850 watt varieties, the 850w model is what I have here for review today. Cooler Master provided the XG850 Plus as well as the TD500 Mesh case in this build for review. The XG Plus PSUs are all fully modular in addition to being relatively quiet PSUs. The model I have here is the ARGB version. The fan colors are fully controllable with the Cooler Master software and you are of course getting the LED display which shows the system load, the PSU temp sensor, and the PSU fan RPM. Let’s take a quick look at what’s included and the specs, getting this installed into our test rig and of course, overall impressions of the power supply.
The XG850 Plus unit that I have here is on the higher end of what the XG Plus series has to offer at a total of 850watt output. Included with the XG850 you’re getting your standard ATX 24 pin main power harness, x1 4+4 EPS cable and one 8pin EPS cable for higher end motherboard CPU combos, connectivity for powering up to 12 total SATA drives, up to x4 4-pin Molex connections, and then the USB cable for controlling the ARGB goodness on the ARG PSUs. I don’t normally comment on the packaging but the box for this PSU is quite colorful and the bags for the PSU and the cables do give off a bit of a premium feel.
The XG850 PSU weighs in around 7lbs with cabling which is on the heavier side but that's not a bad thing for a power supply. The XG850 Plus measures in at 160mm long by 150mm wide, by 86mm tall so this is definitely a bigger PSU meant for real gaming machines. Just keep the dimension in mind when spec'ing out your case. The TD500 Mesh that I’m using here for example, had no issues accepting this PSU. The PSU series features a 135mm main fan for the PSU cooling that typically operates under 20db under 50% usage ramping up to a maximum sound output of 25db if you’re really loading the system up past 90% total output or about 765 watts or more. Since this is a platinum rated PSU, typically you should be at or over 90% efficiency when measured at 20%, 50%, and 100% load.

Today we're taking a look at the Cooler Master TD500 Mesh ARGB Gaming PC case. Cooler Master sent the TD500 Mesh over with the XG850 Plus Platinum Power supply I’m using for this review. The TD500 Mesh is positioned as an ultra value gaming pc case. The TD500 Mesh features a mesh front panel as the name implies and comes packing x3 120mm fans out of the box. The TD500 Mesh certainly has some unique design elements to make it stand out amongst the competition in addition to its cooling performance. We’ll take a quick look at what's included with the case, the specs, and I’ll be building a 12th gen RTX 3060 gaming rig inside.
The TD500 Mesh comes in a few sku’s or variants. The model I have here today is the black version with the mesh controller. The case is also sold in white and with or without the mesh controller. The accessory kit is relatively standard except for the SSD mounting, Cooler Master is using a push pin style mounting system that we’ll come back to a little later. As for the specs on this case, we're looking at a mid tower that supports motherboards from mITX up to ATX with support for SSI CEB E_ATX board, up to 12 inches by 10.7 inches with the understanding larger boards will cover your cable management passthroughs. I see this case almost exclusively being used in gaming rigs so I don’t think that will be an issue for many. The tempered side glass panel is unique in that it has an etched design that follows the polygonal shapes and lines from the front of the case. As far as aesthetics go, this case definitely stands out among competitors in this price range. The x3 included ARGB fans are the Cooler Master Sickleflow PWM 120mm models. These fans support ARGB lighting control and can push a maximum of 62cfm worth of air at a maximum static air pressure of 2.5mm to h20 at the maximum rotational speed of 1800RPM according to Cooler Master. The fans are capable of spinning down to as low as 650RPM as well for silence optimization. Stacking three fans in front of the case like this helps ensure you will get good airflow and pressure through the case leading to better overall system temperatures than just one or two front intake fans. The TD500 Mesh continues the trend of being cooling friendly by allowing for a maximum air cooler clearance of 165mm. For air cooling configurations, you can either install x3 120mm fans in the front and top with x1 120mm rear fan.

Today we’re taking a look at the Fara R1 V2 from Silverstone. I reached out to Silverstone for a few parts to build a Silverstone themed 12th gen RTX based gaming rig. The Fara R1 V2 is a sleek mid tower chassis with a mesh front panel, the option for a real tempered glass side panel or a steel side panel, top and bottom air filters all at a competitive price. The Fara R1 V2 is geared for midrange gaming builds and comes in a few style varieties. There's the black tempered glass model that I have here, there's a black version with a solid steel side panel and then the same glass and solid panel options in white. At first glance, the Fara R1 V2 looks like a solid competitor in the sub 100 dollar price range. Let's take a look at what’s included, the specs, build quality, and the finished gaming rig.
The Fara R1 V2 includes a basic case screw kit which is pretty much all you need to get rolling with this case. The front panel of the case is a tool-less removal system and pops off fairly easily for access to fans or radiator support. On the model I have here, the tempered glass side panel has a metal frame that’s easily secured and removed with two thumb screws. Getting inside of the case, we’re looking at support for up to a 340mm graphics card up from 332mm on the Fara R1 version 1. Being that the Fara R1 V2 here is a mid sized chassis we get support for mITX up to standard ATX motherboards. As far as air cooler support goes, we can stuff up to a 161mm tall tower cooler into this case. In terms of watercooling support, we can opt for either a 280mil rad or a 360mil rad mounted in the front of the case as well as a 280mil or 240mil rad at the top of the case. The rear of the case also supports a 120mil rad if you need it. As always, make sure you measure your rads to ensure they don't bump into each other and your fittings and tubes have enough room. The front rad location will support up to a 59mil rad thickness and the top rad mounting location will support up to 38mil thickness. Out of the box, you’re only getting 1x 120mm case fan, so you will want to make sure your CPU cooler will have decent air pressure or you can pick up an extra fan or two to help generate air pressure to better cool your system. Lastly, for power supply compatibility, you can fit up to a 200mm long PSU in the case if the hard drive cage is moved to the front position. The rear hard drive cage position will shrink that maximum PSU length down to 171mm. The IO on the front panel of the case consists of two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and one combined 3.5mm audio port.

Today we’re taking a look at the Silverstone DA650 gold rated power courtesy of Silverstone. I reached out to Silverstone to send over a few parts so I could build an intel 12th gen RTX based gaming PC to review.
Intel Gaming PC Build list:
i5-12600k: amzn.to/3xFu9ug
Gigabyte z690 Gaming X (DDR4): amzn.to/3xwWPpk
G.Skill 32GB DDR4: amzn.to/3Qv4r4p

EVGA RTX 3060 12GB: amzn.to/3N8dwNr
WD SN 850 1TB SSD: amzn.to/3Ob5W6o
The DA650 that we’re looking at today is a gold rated fully modular power supply. The DA or Decathlon series PSUs from Silverstone range from 550w, 650w, 750w, 850w, and an incredible 1650w. The DA series power supplies all carry a 3 year warranty, are all modular, and feature tight voltage regulation as well as low ripple. As for this DA650, typically it’s quite efficient staying between 87% to 90% efficiency during power loads ranging from 20% to 100% according to Silverstone. In terms of the cooling, there's a 120mm FDB fan built into the power supply. At the lowest speed this fan is only making 18dba worth of noise. The PSU will spin the fan up or down depending on the temperature and load to keep the internal components running cool. The DA650 is a single rail based PSU meaning there is no need to to balance power connections between multiple rails to keep the power supply optimally loaded. All of the standard power protections are in place here, over current protection, over power protection, over voltage protection, short circuit protection and of course over temperature protection. The DA650 also features flat black power cables for all of the modular connections. I really liked this aspect of the power supply, it gives you a more premium feel and the cables are going to look good in almost every build without needing to buy extension cables. There's a good assortment of cables included including two 8 pin EPS cables and three total PCIe cables. This should be more than enough for any mid ranged gaming build. In terms of the physical spec for the power supply itself, the da650 weighs in at 3.13lbs and measures in at 150mm wide by 86mm high, by 140mm deep. I didn’t have any trouble at all getting this power supply installed in the Fara R1 V2 case I tested the system in. As for the specs of the test system, This is an i5-12600k with a z690 ddr4 gaming x board from gigabyte. I’m running an EGVA RTX 3060 12gb gpu. The CPU is being cooled by the PF240-ARGB watercooler from Silverstone with the LGA 1700 mounting kit. Running this system through the paces gaming, benchmarking, and some productivity tests both stock and overclocked were no issue for the DA650. I liked the DA650 and it did well for this build. I was also impressed by the lower than average weight for this unit, I haven’t seen many PSUs under 4lbs. If you're in the market for a quality 650w PSU for a gaming rig or workstation, the DA650 is a solid choice.

Today we’re looking at the Katana V2 gaming themed soundbar from Creative. I didn't actually know that Creative was in the business of building soundbars much less gaming and feature rich soundbars until they reached out to ask me to take a look at this, the Sound Blaster Katana v2. As I was test driving the Katana v2 I thought it was a bit strange that until now, speakers and sound in general for my gaming PC has always been something I overlooked in my setup but after testing the Katana V2, I can say that I am sold. No more $20 junker speakers from Best Buy. This soundbar package is pretty amazing in terms of quality sound, a very compact size, it has good connectivity options, and of course, contains the RGB goodness we all crave. The Katana V2 features tri-amplification which means that the audio is being split up between three specific frequency ranges, each range is sent to the driver or speaker that can best play the audio. On the Katana V2 that means frequencies are split and sent to the mid-range drivers, tweeters, and subwoofer which are designed to play each frequency range as correctly as possible for the best audio reproduction. I loved the sound I was getting out of the unit during gaming sessions and binge watching shows on plex. The quality of this soundbar combined with the power output really helps to pull you into the game whether it's a racing sim or first person shooters. There’s so much quality of life missing in a typical junk speaker setup when you're playing a racing game, background noises, engine revs, tire noise. As for FPS games, there's a huge advantage here as well in terms of being able to hear footsteps, off in the distance sounds or positional queues as to player locations or game events. Don't you want who to know you’re about to get knifed in CSGO?
