Eye level flat earth conundrum Paulster X 2019-03-03 | IMPORTANT NOTE: Shortly after posting I was made aware of a schoolboy error I’d made with the radius of the earth. It should be 6371km and I’d mistyped it as 6731km. Doh! I’ve worked out the expected angles based on this and they are virtually the same:3.5, 2.5 and 1.1 degreesVs 3.4, 2.4 and 1.1 degrees. Therefore I have not re-edited the video as the results would be the same, but please note this error. Thanks to DownsideUp for spotting it! Yes I know, plenty of people have proved before that the horizon does NOT remain at eye level, but I wanted to prove it for myself, with the added bonus of a bit of trig to work out what we should be seeing.
