RETIRO // Parkour & Freerunning Seminar Line Team 2016-06-29 | Retiro is the portuguese word for retreat. In its definition, it means to move back, to withdraw to a quiet or secluded space, and also to change one’s mind or plans as a result of criticism or difficulty.Having that said, Retiro was a weekend event held in the South of Portugal, in Pêra, where the purpose was to move from the busy city everyday life and retreat into a space with like-minded people, whereby sharing, practicing and learning would have its effect on those who participated.We went back to the roots and explored what inspired Parkour at its core - the Méthode Naturelle - we dove into the history of physical exercise, the physicality behind movement, movement games, challenges and most importantly, we informed, conformed and shared knowledge accumulated throughout 10 years of movement practice .It couldn’t have gone any better - the exposure to such a wonderful space like the Molière School for Performing Arts gave the event a welcoming environment where everybody felt home, safe and happy. The weekend flowed like water as we workshopped, lectured and learned from each other, together with nice vegan food, thus another experiment to get the participants out of their comfort zone and try something else, with the aim of respecting, uniting, preserving.We intended to maintain and endure the spirit that brought us here, as Traceurs - ‘’Être Fort Pour Être Utile’’ - and that we did, as a community that had been around for 10 years and will remain for many to come.We want to do it again, and again. OVERTIME | Parkour Line Team 2015-05-28 | When we first talked about potentially making a new video, we immediately shared the vision of creating a sort of oldschool video, focusing on solo training and progression. We wanted to bring back some of the essence that we feel has been lost in the last couple or so years.I'm not sure if it was plain inability due to many nights without proper sleeping, or if we simply failed to capture that essence, but the video turned out to be something quite different. UniverCidade 2.0 - Parkour & FreeRunning Line Team 2014-02-28 | Following last year's video featuring Sérgio and directed by Diogo Cunha, we were once more challenged by the University of Lisbon to create a promotional video combining both our movement and the many schools/institutes which compose UL.This year the project was way bigger, as the University of Lisbon merged with the Technical University of Lisbon, reaffirming itself as the largest university in Portugal. We filmed on 18 schools/institutes and had Luis and Pedro come along to add more quality/epicness to the project.We met a lot of passionate people during the shooting, people which presented us to their daily reality and helped us build this final video. Line Team: A Message to the World Line Team 2011-11-28 | Our latest team video is ready, and I can tell you it wasn't as hard as Frontline was, but not because the parkour/freerunning are easier, it's because we discoreved the most important and beatiful thing in the parkour world: The family!Since the last team video, we tried to meet as much people as we could around the world, travelling, talking on internet, hosting in Portugal. It was the best that could've happened! In some trips and some days with all the parkour family we realized the boundaries parkour breaks beyond the movement, and it goes over walls, gaps, drops and finally gets to the Love! This one, that all of us share for the same art, and we all understand in such a beatiful way, in a different perspective to the world that only us are able to see, and the moving was just the excuse for us to be together, the parkour family already have its own language with its own past times and secret codes. And we just started to discover them.
