Off we go again on another adventure. In this Terrier Travels we venture to the Midlands and head to Severn Valley Railway, Cadbury's World, West Midland's Safari Park and Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway before running through a very wet Bluebell woods. But it's not The End yet! We cross Abbey Road... in Wales? Visiting the Llangollen Railway, Poncysyllte Aqueduct and ending on the high hills of Dinas Bran overlooking the valley.

This was intended as a sequel to the Henry as the Polar Express spoof I made some years ago. A fair bit of effort went into developing this video, so I wanted to share some of the models, footage and editing that was done before I decided against it. The mini-Glenfinnan card viaduct was one of my biggest sets and as it's been so long since I've filmed Thomas stuff, I think the quality of the footage is noticeably improved.

We tour the places where both films were recorded, and seeing where the engine stars are now, with some surprising literary connections that we weren't expecting.
As a first visit to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, and given that The Railway Children Return aired this summer, having a look at the places the iconic original and sequel were filmed was a must. We timed it well too, as only months after the Pannier tank was moved from storage to see whether a return to steam was feasible.
This doesn't mean that there won't be a Guide Rail on the KWVR itself, but as you can see from the teaser at the end, this won't be the first film location finder either.

BEHIND THE SCENES : youtube.com/watch?v=plo6mJW5sFM
Happy Halloween! This is a rough edit of footage filmed earlier this year from a Harry Potter/Thomas spoof I was planning to complete. However, in regards to the Rowling transphobia controversy, I don't feel is appropriate and do not wish to offend anyone. Still, I know I'd get a lot of comments if I didn't show what the finished project was going to look like, so I hope this condensed rethink of the footage will suffice. The behind the scenes video explains more, but this was intended as a sequel to the Henry, the Polar Express spoof I made some years ago.
In the meantime, I highly recommend HalfBakedHex8's "Hatt Vs Rowling", it's a brilliant read. docs.google.com/document/d/1tDu0aJpGQr44csrvTf99W9rfbImhp7mKLOMM-iFuQ0w/edit?usp=drivesdk
Thanks to JacobThePrairieTank for putting together the spoof cover of the theme!

I've wanted to do this walk for many years, and this sesquicentenary year of the LBSCR A class was the reason to get on with it, even if we did freeze ourselves.

Drink up! 🥂 Pleased to share a new stop-motion animation in collaboration with Bluebell Railway. We went 2D with this one for the people, surrounded by 3D miniatures. This was a really fun new experiment for me and one I would certainly like to explore more with.
Special thanks to Kayak and GBHTrain for drawing the crowd. See if you can spot some familiar faces!

Dear Stepney, if you could talk, I'm sorry that I've ruined your good name by plastering it all over my eccentric little channel. It's been 10 years and so far I've had a blast. I'm incredibly lucky to have made so many friends and worked with so many insanely creative and smart people over the past decade whilst I've matured. Dry rails, good running, your loving friend.
Delayed due to leaves on the line or something, here's a little video just to say THANK YOU to all of you for watching my videos for over 10 years and letting me progress to where I am now. The journey isn't quite over, but sometimes you need to look back to realise how far forward you've travelled. Love you all.

A recap of our side of things at Awdry Extravaganza II, overviewing the whole Wales 2022 Trip and everything under the sun (or rain). There will still be the usual Terrier Travels vlog, but I thought it would be nice to actually give some context as to what happened, as for quite a lot of this summer I was either unable to film or was filming for videos that won't be out for some time.
Apologies for the poor audio quality, I had to use my earphone mic whilst I was away from my usual microphone. I haven't credited EVERYONE I saw at the TR as there were so many, please understand! All the same, it was nice meeting so many of you. :)

There will be visiting Terriers running, a collection of vintage vehicles on display and a toy and train collector's fair. Do come and wish the birthday engine well.

Guide Rail returns! Please see the intro for an update. This month we're doing another complete history of another Terrier, Poplar of the Kent and East Sussex Railway/Terrier Trust. A more personal video today, and it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I only intend to do this once! After a few months of planning, I proposed to Holly who you may have seen throughout the years. She's a massive Shakespeare fanatic, so I managed to plan a proposal on the stage of The Globe theatre in London. There were several near misses and it may have been cancelled at the 11th hour.
Huge thank you to Holly, to Harry for filming, and to the team at The Globe for making the engagement possible.

Some exciting plans to mark the 10th anniversary of this channel and coincide it with the 150th anniversary of the LBSCR Terriers are well underway, so here's an update to say thank you for all of the support in the meantime.
I hate giving plugs like this, but the previous videos that promoted my Patreon were also to fundraise for heritage railways during the 1st lockdown, so it was a due a refresh. As mentioned, it's not a contract for life: anyone who joins is welcome to leave at any point.
Needless to say, I LOVE making videos and I'm truly thankful that the added support has meant I've been able to work on them more often.

This month we look at one of the UK's biggest heritage railways, and their determination to play trains despite everything that's stood against them. It's April Fools today, and this is a preservation group that knows how to take a joke and do something different for publicity. Apologies in any information is inaccurate, such as which locos are owned by the SVR (there are so many!). Please feel free to correct any mistakes in the comments, nicely of course.

Happy St Patrick's Day!
What is it like to work on the railways of Sodor? Is it a childhood dream, or really an accident waiting to happen (now and again). This was inspired by Tomska and Friends' discussion and TheUnluckyTug's Unanswerable Thomas Questions. It's a fun what-if scenario.

Calbourne is a lucky tank engine to survive and was never meant to be the only Adams O2 left. Today W24 is the mascot of the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and has even ventured back to the mainland. The railway recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of "The Big Move", where Calbourne was tasked with hauling their entire collection to their new headquarters before the scrap merchants came in to say otherwise!
Thank you to Alco and Swanage George for their assistance.

Many thanks to Harry for making this happen at all! This was a "how many retweets for you to make this?" from legomastr_365 in 2019, so thank you to Matt C for that. Harry and I wrote this extended version in early 2021 and I've only now kept my promise and made a video for it.

1 instalment of Guide Rail and we're already looking at a ship! I know not all of you will find this as interesting as I do, but we're looking at the temporary Titanic Exhibition in London as it's only on for a month or so more. Don't worry, we'll be back next month with a Guide RAIL again with a Complete History of video.

It's launched! The first instalment of GUIDE RAIL! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Not every video in the series will be THIS long, or just focus on a railway, but it should give a flavour of what's in store throughout the months.
We look at the history and the bright little engines of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, the world's only miniature gauge mainline. Found on the Kent coast, this line has developed from a billionaire's plaything to serving its country during wartime and on to being one of the most loved attractions in the county. I've visited 3 times and can confirm - this is one characteristic little/big railway.
With thanks to FrontLineSteam for allowing me to use their footage throughout. If you'd like to see the full, unedited clips, check out their channel. youtube.com/channel/UCl9BiR5Vh9dczEGHdgV2G3g

Happy New Year! We went all out on this year's annual summary video. Stepney gets visited by the Ghost of Christmas, whilst Bertie tries to make it to Tiny-Truck Tim's Christmas Not-Party. Essentially I just let my mind spew out quickfire ideas and words on a page for a while and rolled with it. I got Harry to record the lines live having never seen the script, which resulted in a very fun blooper reel!
It's been a tough year, but I'm very thankful for everyone who has enjoyed the videos I've made this year - Thank you for staying with me! I hope you all have a wonderful 2022 and wish you all the best. You deserve it.

Stepney is 146 today! Following on from this video talking about my Thomas customs: youtube.com/watch?v=_6yrMVPeWvM This one takes a look at the various modifications I've done to Hornby old tooling Terriers over the years, hopefully giving inspiration and dos and don'ts for anyone wishing to do something similar. Includes a model I haven't shared before, but one you'll see again.
Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas if you celebrate that, and a Happy New Year too. Wishing you the best year you could ever imagine for 2022.

EPISODE 1 RELEASED PUBLICLY FRIDAY 7TH JANUARY
A fancy new series being launched! My Terrier Travels vlog series is fun, but I feel like I haven't always done the places I've visited much justice. Many of you ask about the places I've travelled to, so here's some educational videos dedicated to promote the places I've visited. This will also include future "Complete Histories of" videos and sharing some hidden gems like artefacts from ships or abandoned railways scattered around.
Don't worry! This is not a distraction from making more story or model based videos, those are still very much in the works but take a lot of time and money to be done to my standard, but this will help to fill the gaps in time on the channel whilst I make them.
Special thanks to:
Holly for suggesting this idea in the first place.
Terrier672Fenchurch for composing the brilliant theme for the series
FrontLineSteam for allowing me to use their footage in the series itself.
Exciting times ahead for next year!

In this Terrier Travels, we stumble across an abandoned paintball arena in the woods, meet some friendly rolling stock and a Mountain Troll, as well as look at a station restoration project on the famous Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway route. Thanks To Harry, Swanage George and Holly for the continued adventures of 2021. Throughout all of this year so far I've been working away on some animation projects which will hopefully be with you by the end of the year - sorry for the lack of regularity in the meantime!

All being well this may become a 3-part video series. The lovely folk in my Discord server wanted to make a Minecraft server, so here we are. I've never played it in my life, so it was an interesting experience to say the least. In part 2 we continue to make our secret underground base.
I know people are missing the usual Thomas videos I make, but I'm currently juggling a lot in my life at the moment (much of which will be eventually released on the channel), and so these videos keep the wheels turning in the meantime so to speak. Thank you for your patience, and I hope these simpler videos bring some kind of enjoyment.

Celebrating their 50th anniversary, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway held a gala with O2 Calbourne, Terriers Newport and Knowle (ferried over from the KESR, dressed as Bembridge). Terrier672Fenchurch, Swanage George and I hovered over to film the goods trains and double headers, as well as generally mucking about. I was so happy to get to see working Terriers once again after some years. See on Patreon for the uncut clips.
Thanks to Harry and George for allowing me to use some of their footage, and to TheTuggsterIntensifies, TheUlfsteadLine, Carson and NorrambyBranch for their fantastic music.

Brighton Works, the chaotic and compact railway headquarters of the LB&SCR, where engines such as the Stroudley Terriers, Billinton E2s and the Marsh Atlantics were drawn and built. We take a look at the history of the area from 1841 to the end of steam, and see what remains in the present day.

*Update* Thank you to everyone who has provided constructive criticism on this video. Some facts and statements are not correct. For instance: In the 1997 movie, the quartermaster does in fact turn the helm the correct way, as I've now learnt that the helm turns in opposition to the tiller, but not the rudder. The most lives lost at sea is also Wilhelm Gustloff. Apologies for these mistakes.
We all know of the infamous RMS Titanic and the disaster to its name, but is there a reason this sinking is remembered over other maritime disasters? Enjoy this rambly video discussing all things Titanic from launch, to sinking, to media portrayal, to wreck, to today.
I've wanted to cover Titanic on the channel for years as it's one of my longest passions (269 metres for your information). Admittedly, this video is very rushed and could have done with some revisions, but this was completed on the side whilst focusing on some bigger projects, and felt most appropriate to be released on the 109th anniversary of the sinking. If you did or did not enjoy it, let me know why and I'll consider doing more like this.
*Update* If you're looking for the link to the movie without Jack and Rose that I mentioned at the end, it seems the entire project has been removed! If anyone can find it anywhere, do let me know. It had a trailer, a dedicated website to download in different qualities and everything!

How has a 'model' railway reacted to the pandemic? Please stand for a message from the General Manager of the Fareymount Steam Railway, the fool he may be. (This was made in summer 2020, but in 2021 it's still relevant unfortunately!)
**Please consider supporting your local heritage railway or any other small charity or business that may be struggling.** Two that I naturally would recommend are the Talyllyn Railway donate.talyllyn.co.uk and Bluebell Railway. bluebell-railway.com/donate
"Hmm, what's the most annoying voice for a model-manager to have?" May have lost my mind with this one, but hey, lockdown is a going reason. This was cobbled together from various clips from my layout back at home after the 1st lockdown, with a made-up story weaving it all together. It's purely fictional and just a bit of fun - not referring to any real railway in particular or fitting within any particular canon. I've been asked a lot to show more of the layout, and I thought treating it as if it was real was a fun way to do that. Let me know any feedback. I could just make videos of it with edited sound and such, or continue making whatever this is.

"Noo, don't stoop this low" was one of the first reactions to the 1st of these video I did... Well, here we are again! These are fun to make and quick to edit, so whilst I work on bigger projects this should remind people that we're all still alive... well, this video isn't the best demonstrator of that.

Well this wasn't on the to-do list for 2021, but it's here now. I'm not going to say "Gaming videos won't become a thing on this channel" because I've learnt from my 1st vlog. There's at least one other Among Us video if people have enjoyed this one. LET ME KNOW. Videos like this just help to fill in the gaps when I can't work on the usual videos. This was far more fun too. This has been an incredibly rough start to the year for me but I'm thankful for everyone (you know who you are, I hope) for keeping me going.

Chirpy Peter Sam loses confidence when he slips up in the snow. Moody Duncan's continual battle with the Grumpy Passenger leads to the unexpected answer.

I dedicate this in memory of my grandad, who loved Wales and all of its great little engines as I do.
This episode started out in late 2016 and was partly filmed with ERTL's in 2017, but I wasn't happy with the results so scrapped it. In summer 2019 I rewrote the story to focus on Peter Sam more instead and filmed it with the new Bachmann Skarloey range. FINALLY, in 2021, it exists.
Thank you to the wonderful AngryBirdFan98 for composing a score for the episode, the fantastic TramEngineStudios for providing facial animations in several scenes and TheJamTram for letting me steal his Sir Handel and Peter Sam models. Of course, thank you to the extremely talented voice cast for bringing it all to life.
It's been a year since I've had an episode out, but whilst this year I couldn't continue with plans for new ones, I was fortunate to have this one pre-filmed though missing a few pick-up shots! It's perhaps not my best, but I do love writing for the Skarloey gang so am happy to have created a new story nonetheless.
