Ode to Billy Joe (198? VHS Closing) Cassavetesforaday 2025-07-19 | Here's the closing to an early 80s WHV VHS print of the 1976 film Ode to Billy Joe, directed by Max Baer. Not sure of the exact year of this printing, there are no indications on the packaging besides it being an early WHV clamshell release, of which I can't even find any proof of its existence online. The tape itself appears to have a late-90s sticker design with the updated WHV shield from 1997 or so. The tape master is obviously pre-1984, though.1. End of film2. As a result, this release, unauthorized by rights holder Universal, doesn't look or sound great, despite being advertised as being "Mastered from the Original Studio Print!!".
