New CFA activated traffic lights at the Ballarto Rd and Potts Rd intersection Transport Victoria 2024-08-15 | As part of the Ballarto Road Upgrade project, we're installing new CFA activated traffic lights at the Ballarto Road and Potts Road intersection in Skye. During an emergency, Skye Country Fire Authority (CFA) will be able to activate the new traffic lights at the intersection. The traffic lights will stop drivers on Ballarto Road, allowing Skye CFA vehicles to safely turn from Potts Road onto Ballarto Road and respond to emergencies quicker. At all other times, drivers on Ballarto Road will have a green traffic light, and drivers on Potts Road will see no lights on the traffic light and will need to follow the ‘Give Way’ sign.

East Boundary Road Crumb Rubber Trial Transport Victoria 2023-02-20 | It’s official, the world’s largest trial of using recycled rubber to resurface high-traffic metro roads has been a success! This means this innovative asphalt mix is now approved for use right across our network, meaning we can use it to rebuild, repair and resurface Victoria’s roads in a more sustainable way, as well as providing a second use for tyres which would usually head to landfill. Since 2019, our experts have been working with the ARRB - Australian Road Research Board and Tyre Stewardship Australia to monitor the performance of a new asphalt product containing shredded rubber sourced from more than 1600 car and truck tyres on a section of East Boundary Road in Bentleigh.
