PACIFIC RIM NATIONAL PARK - Vancouver Island BC Canada - come along for a beautiful tour! Crafty Patti 2021-09-30 | The expanse of the ocean and beaches between Ucluelet and Tofino are breath taking! It is one of the most beautiful places you can visit on Vancouver Island. A must see! Yes it is worth the drive from Parksville! It is about a 2 hr drive to the Pacific National Rim Park. Then you can go left to Ucluelet or right to Tofino. You could spend a whole day just walking on a beautiful sand beach. And there are so many beaches to explore. Or explore the many trails from easy to more challenging. You will see the rainforest trail in this video as well as the Wild Pacific Trail. If you are an artist then you will appreciate all the local art work that can be found on store fronts, motels, art galleries and in lots of the shops in Ucluelet and Tofino. If you hit one of their rainy days then check out the Ucluelet Aquarium on Main St. They have divers that pick up sea life and bring it all to the aquarium so everyone can see how gorgeous it can be below the surface of the water. In December they release everything they have caught and return it back to the ocean. I have taken some photos of what you can see! Lots of accommodation to choose from. The basics up to very fancy! There are also camping sites if that's your bag. Get it, that was my silly pun. Bag meaning sleeping bag for camping. "Groan" But book ahead. This is a very popular place with locals and tourists and it books up fast. If you love biking than this is your place. They have made a bike path that goes along the Pacific Rim Hwy from Tofino to Ucluelet. Which is about 25 miles. Thats amazing! They have bike rentals if you don't want to bring your own bikes. Still looking for things to do? You can go golfing, kayaking, go on a fishing charter, ocean adventures, rent a bike or a scooter, take a surfing lesson, go on a zip line, take a float plane tour or just simply sit back on a log and take in all that beauty! So many things to do. And when you are all done exploring relax back and enjoy some great eating places. Everything from hot dogs to super healthy to gourmet! The " Blue Moon" in Ucluelet is know for its great breakfast so we gave that a try and they did not disappoint. And in Tofino we went to Common Loaf Bake Shop on First for a great selection of bakery items and coffee. We were enticed by the Shelter Restaurants patio and heaters so gave it a try for supper. Ordered the crispy Brussel sprouts and they were very yummy and we also shared the Farmhouse Chicken Burger with 1/2 Caesar salad and fries on the side. Then came the dessert that we were not expecting. TUCG Crumble. It was delicious with a whopping addition of creamy yummy gelato on top. It was huge!! Anyways, I think you get the idea. We did eat some really healthy salads too! LOL. The morning we were leaving we hit up Rhino Cafe for their famous doughnuts and coffee. Yup! Definitely very popular and the breakfast bagel was delicious as well as the coffee. Okay, Get it out of me. Yah, I bought a doughnut. It was calling my name! "Yelling, Pick me Pick me Patti". Didn't take too much convincing. You name it. You will find it! I used mostly Craft smart value yarn Medium 4.-fusible interfacing if you want more security for making pillows and for washing.-felt the same size as your project if you want to back it-sewing thread if you want to sew on felt to the backside. Craft smart colours I used:-white, ice blue for the sky, charcoal, gray and a lighter gray for hills, mustard for the sun, surf for the water plus a solid teal yarn.-Red heart medium 4 aran fleck for the beach-tape measure-masking tape to prevent ravelling of the monk cloth or zig zag on sewing machine.-sharp ended scissors for poking down ends and for tuftingMadMatters is a great site as well for all your punch needle supplies.
