Psychic Medium John Edward Reads Our Audience | The Meredith Vieira Show Psychic Medium John Edward gives a psychic reading to a mother who lost her 5 month old son. Or did he really? Watch his techniques very carefully. Notice how he told the mother nothing of value as he constantly probed with common general questions, fast talking, and psychic pseudo jargon. Then he ended with a warm fuzzy feels message while giving no real information.
James Randi Exposes Psychic Fraud Rosemary Altea on Larry King Live (Around 2001) Rosemary Altea claims to communicate with the dead and have visions of the future. Her generic readings are bound to get right for someone in the audience. She repeats the same scenarios over and over again, and they are all the same. She is always not sure on who it is she says she is hearing or seeing. This is her safety valve. So if she gets it wrong, it's no big deal in her mind. If she really sees and hears these loved ones, why are they never precise? Either they speak with her or they don't. Why do they never tell her their names and point to the relative? It never happens. There is a very good reason why specific details are never part of a psychic's readings.

My son got married and one of my family members is highly religious. I got some messages from this person that was not very appropriate and I'm going to go into some detail about what happened.
EDIT: Some context is needed for content at 6:20 and 9:00. When I'm referring to statements my sibling made about my adult child being "PROUD" of living with his partner before marriage, I neglected to mention this is in reference to a text message my sibling sent to me several months prior to this email conversation, when he first learned about the wedding engagement. The text message that was directed at me about my adult child said something like "Just so you know, living with someone before marriage is nothing to be proud of." Just wanted to clear that up.

We do everything we can to increase certainty in our lives. The stress resulting from uncertainty is tremendous in our society. It increases brain cell death. It decreases plasticity. It makes you a more extreme version of yourself. We do almost everything to avoid uncertainty. And yet the irony is that its the only place we can go, if we’re ever going to see things differently.

Bill Hicks used to finish his shows with this: "The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question - is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say 'Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride.' And we...[] those people. Ha ha ha. 'Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. SHUT HIM UP! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and family. This just has to be real.' It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because: it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings, and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourselves off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what you can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year, and instead, spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace." Bill Hicks

By separating our ideas from our identities, we are able to look at ideas through the lens of a brutal meritocracy, where we can discriminate between a good or bad idea without disrespecting the person who delivered it. Here's why you have the right to be heard, but not necessarily be taken seriously. Let's get into it.

Some say it's a real place filled with fire and torture where bad people go for all eternity, and it's run by Satan and his demons. Cartoonish imagery is what pop culture and religion shows most of the time. It's often depicted as a huge torture chamber in another plane of existence that is neither physical nor metaphysical. Scenes of extreme suffering for sinners haunts our imaginations, but where did the idea of Hell come from? Here are four different views.

It depends on their whole way of life to perpetuate unfalsifiable claims for which no substantial evidence has ever been provided. Intelligence and critical thinking is the enemy. Blind faith without question is celebrated and virtuous.
Skeptics, journalists, scientists and scholars have thoroughly researched the origins of Christianity, religion, claims of existence and beliefs in gods, and they have reasonable explanations for why religion does not work.

We truly appreciate your contributions!Critical Thinking Skills Academy - Critical Thinking Cards - Printable Flash Card DecksThe Feasibilian Project2023-02-21 | Critical thinking is the process of actively, diligently, and intellectually analyzing, conceptualizing, and assessing information gathered from various sources such as observations, lessons, experience, and other applicable information. It is an acquired skill derived from years of experience, practice, and research; a skill that is supposed to aid in a decision making process and well as to understand others’ points of view unbiasedly.
While critical thinking may seem like something that one was born with naturally, this is actually not the case. All of us are thinkers in some degree, however only some of us can be classified as critical thinkers who can apply these particular skills in a decisive situation. In order to achieve critical thinking skills, one must learn to become a balanced fair-minded thinker.
Critical thinking skills allow us to have learning opportunities and cut through unncessary clutter and useless noise, and help us to start important local and regional projects in service of a more enlightened and sustainable future. Environmental, educational, and social initiatives are springing up rapidly, as our collective global critical thinking continues to evolve as a real force for change in the world.
