When I started parkour in 2007, I'm pretty sure the only people in the world who had been training for 8 years were the OG French guys. I couldn't imagine then where I would be at in my training eight years later...and now I'm here and parkour is still as fun and fresh and new to me now as it was then. I still feel like I'm learning every day and it's incredibly rare that a day goes by without at least a little bit of training. Parkour has evolved from a passion into a lifestyle into a life and I'm looking forward to seeing where the next eight years pursuing this beautiful beast will take me.
Now a bit to say about the video...my training has changed a lot this year. I've been focusing a lot more on speed and practicality, and I wanted the first part of the video to reflect that. I'm not as fast or strong as I'd like to be, but then again I guess no one ever really is. The important thing is I'm trying to get there! The second part of the video is more of the usual training shenanigans...I was able to knock out a bunch of jumps this year that I'd been looking at for years (plural) and never been able to try, so I'm pretty proud of the mental growth I've gone through lately. I guess some things just take time and dedication!
I'd like to thank everyone who has inspired me this year through training, especially my buddies KnickerTease, Dolan Bakkar, Kaloom Powell, Brandon Speedy Gonzalez Dougl-ass, The Busterino/the real "Master G", Phily Dee(z Nuts), Cai 'How do you say his name' McWillis, EndJizz Miscenko, Juho Kuu (he'll beat me up if I say his name wrong), Joel the Egg Man, and Alex Shower. You guys are always getting me excited to do more stronger jumps and stuff :) Also, thanks to my parents for raising me to jump on stuff since forever. I appreciate the head start!
I'd also like to take a moment to plug a really awesome project I'm working on with KnowObstacles called iKnowObstacles: Water Crisis...check the link here (rockethub.com/projects/61224-iknowobstacles-water-crisis) if you'd like to be a part of an awesome project that would bring parkour to kids in South Africa!
As always, thanks for watching guys...hope you enjoy :)

It was incredibly fun to rewatch all of these and see which ones hold up...and which ones don't. If you are interested in a Part 2, there are plenty of other parkour films I'd love to feature! But for now, be sure to check out all the films mentioned above:

I pretty much lived on our yard setup for spring/summer but squeaked in a handful of good outdoor sessions - plus included a handful of 2022 clips that I'd been saving for a project that has now become outdated. Happy to look back at this year of training and see a lot of improvement still happening even with some amazing life changes :)Storror Inspired Parkour Challenge Race: Denver vs. BoulderMaxHenryParkour2024-07-30 | Inspired by Storror's Brighton vs. Bristol challenge race, we decided to go head-to-head with teams from Denver and Boulder. Since we don't get to train all together very often, we went with a 1v1 type format...which meant we all got to sesh and train together for 6 hours in the sun. Couldn't have asked for a better time and we can't wait for round 2! Biiiig ups to Kristine and Dante for doing so much filming
Also big thanks to @oopollapp for helping us organize the challenges. If you'd like to vote for the video MVP and help one of our athletes win a Strike Mvmnt gift card, download the app and head to my profile! You'll also be able to check out some of Round 2's challenges before they go live next month on the follow-up video...and even try them yourself if you're in town :)

Who do you want to see on each side next time?half lifeMaxHenryParkour2021-12-27 | Always fun to look back at the end of a year and throw together training clips. 2021 marks my training "half life," since I've now been doing parkour for as long as I haven't.
I've lost some really good friends along the way and made a lot of really good new ones as well. I got married this year, which is pretty crazy, to an amazing person who also does parkour. Felt like another year of treading water in training...but then I ended up sending some challenges in New York and Denver that I've looked at for years. So all in all, no complaints!
In 14 years, I can't say I've ever really lost the motivation to keep working on myself and my movement. Hopefully in another 14 years, I'll be in the same healthy place with training and life. Who knows, things might be even better! So thanks, parkour, for helping the second half of my life so far be as rad as it's been.
- MaxI finally completed the Skochy Stick-It ChallengeMaxHenryParkour2021-09-20 | Making this happen proved to be a much harder logistical challenge than I'd anticipated! Mostly a solo-dolo process, this one is definitely for my fellow parkour nerds so grab your yoga mat, brew some coffee, and enjoy all the PKASMR sticking noises.
Big ups to Skochypstiks for this idea. It was such a blast to participate in and if I hadn't ended up needing to get a new computer this edit would have come out before they closed off the challenge on Sep. 11th. Also realized as I was editing that my lache and underbar challenges ended up somewhere in the aether...so it's not a truly complete video.
That having been said, if you like the idea you should join me and make a video regardless of the deadline - it was a great way to help guide some solo sessions and pushed me to try funky new challenges. Check out www.skochypstiks.com/stick-it for the full breakdown and if you like the shorts I was wearing for most of this video, you can grab those over on Skochy's site as well! The one in BoulderMaxHenryParkour2021-04-29 | Vaxxed up and ready to mingle baby. Finally had a social outdoor session in Boulder with friends. Much good training was had by all and we found some really fun new challenges at over-used spots which is always nice :)
Also, I got a new GoPro to play around with! You dig the GoPro footage or the oldschool vibe more for these? I'm pretty split to be honest. The one with 500 rail precisionsMaxHenryParkour2021-04-09 | You try all sorts of crazy things when you're getting over Covid and stuck in your apartment for two weeks.
I originally wanted to try and stick 1000 rail precisions in a day but my lungs are still recovering so I played it safe with 500. This was a really interesting challenge...it's been awhile since I tried something that required this much mental and technical endurance. Pretty happy with how my body held up throughout - I'd love to give it another try outdoors and go for 1000!
If you want to try this out yourself, I highly recommend having snacks and lots of water ready haha. Hope you enjoy watching me work my way through this as much as I enjoyed doing it :) Definitely brought back some old school training vibes and memories! The one with daffodil friendsMaxHenryParkour2021-03-23 | Well, sorry about the delay but Colorado decided to drop more snow on us than it has in 20 years so we missed a week or two.
Kristine, Brandon, Kira, and I went down to Colorado Springs and had some fun in the sun...plus a really delicious rosemary cookie that I want to replicate now. Seriously, it was so bomb.
Trying to film a bit more "B Roll" but it's hard when everyone is also trying to sesh, so we'll see how it goes. Always a fine balance between having fun filming and missing the fun because you're filming :)The one with the mental blockMaxHenryParkour2021-03-02 | Kristine and I went down to New Mexico for my birthday and we ended up running into this Shiny of a catback challenge.
I have a habit of needing to talk through and externalize my commitment process when I'm with people I trust. Sometimes I feel like getting all my negative thoughts out into the world instead of keeping them in the back of my mind helps me relax. This was definitely one of those times - hence the higher than usual percentage of F Bombs haha. Big catback pres have always been tough for me to commit to and this is probably the gnarliest one I've ever tried...really happy to have ticked it off, the setup was just too perfect to walk away from with a clean conscience. Thanks as always to my partner in life/crime Kristine for letting me vent and holding my camcorder for a solid 20 minutes.
More training vids coming as soon as the 12+ inches of snow we got last week in Denver have fully melted. The one with weird rail kongsMaxHenryParkour2021-02-10 | So apparently I did a lot of rail kong pres over the past two weeks, including one that may be the funkiest I've ever tried. Gotten lots of solid gym training in as well with the Covid-crew and next week's may be a breakdown of Kristine, Brandon, and I coming up with our SPL Skill submissions. Stay tuned and find out! In the meantime, here is some training I'm pretty darn happy with :)The one in the neighborhoodMaxHenryParkour2021-01-25 | Scouted around the neighborhood with the usual crew and found a bunch of cool spots and things to do :) Pretty happy with a lot of the challenges in here, especially in the last section. Plus, stoked to have Alex Pawlus in Denver now! Hoping this unseasonably lovely weather continues a bit longer...
Peep everyone on the gram @maxhenryparkour @brandondouglass @kristine_dietrich @howlongtilligiveupThe one before ChristmasMaxHenryParkour2021-01-07 | Christmas kinda threw a wrench in my video consistency but what else is new! Here are some clips from just before a minor back sprain and Christmas break. See ya with some new content next week :)Lucky ThirteenMaxHenryParkour2020-12-15 | Really wanted to make an end-of-year recap this year. Inspired by the Endijs instacompilations, here are most of the clips I filmed in 2020 cut together to some classic tunes. This year was my thirteenth spent training parkour. Even though it turned out to be a pretty unlucky one for the world at large, it felt like a really solid year for me from a training standpoint. Not too many huge single achievements but a lot of overall progression I think.
Hope you dig it :)
Mos Dub - Mr. Universe by Max Tannone Watermelon Man by Maynard Ferguson New York Strait Talk by Gang Starr Bad Name by Gang StarrThe one with Ryen KeenanMaxHenryParkour2020-12-01 | Ryen came down from Michigan for a weekend and we got together for some responsibly distant training with Brandon and Kira. Very fun training ensued. Kristine and I also explored some hidden gems in DTC. This one has some pretty saucy challenges in it, not gonna lie.
@maxhenryparkour @kristine_dietrich @brandondouglass @kiradium @ryenkeenanWe tried something new (and pet a dog)MaxHenryParkour2020-11-20 | You asked for it! This is what training feels like to me most of the time...going out with a friend or two and wandering around trying challenges :) In this case, they were mostly pretty chill but there are a handful of quietly gnarly things tucked away haha
Might take a few iterations to figure out how to make these interesting but in the meantime, enjoy watching Rob and I jump around on stuff while you stretch/eat breakfast/browse YouTube on the toilet. Been getting some awesome old school vibes training lately and trying to translate it over to all you folx who have supported me and care about my content.
Denver also just entered a new level of Covid restrictions so I expect the next few weeks of videos will be just Kristine and me. Hopefully will be able to get in on some more training with friends soon :)

Thanks to everyone who helped me find music I could use without getting the video taken down, y'all are awesome!InstaGratificationMaxHenryParkour2019-10-11 | What a year it's been.
The longer I practice parkour, the more I value these little collections of moments and memories from training. This year, parkour has felt less like my life and more like another part of this great big life I'm creating with the people around me. I've moved permanently to Denver and have been working full-time at a specialty coffee roaster. It feels a bit like growing up, but much more like growing out.
I'm still loving parkour as much as the first day I started. Still trying to be the 70-year old in a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops sticking 8 foot rail pres at height. Still the world's biggest parkour nerd at heart...but like any successful relationship, the way I see training has changed (or matured) quite a bit over the past year or two.
I made this video waiting for my plane home at Gatwick airport with whatever clips were on my phone at the time. Lots of different qualities and crops, but it feels honest :) Looking forward to seeing where this whole road leads, and excited as always to explore the opportunities it presents.
-MaxNow A DazeMaxHenryParkour2018-09-07 | It's been a good year. These moments, these movements, and this music all mean a lot to me and I'm happy to bring them all together into one video. We had a super rough winter in NYC this year with snow on the ground for three straight months and below zero F temperatures pretty consistently for most of January and February. These are clips from December and March training, plus some lifting stuff. This winter's focus was mainly on getting my power and strength levels up. And that's pretty much what happened :) Enjoy it and stay tuned for some cool stuff from my Europe trip with Myrm in April/May!
Song: Blues For A Four String Quitar by Maynard FergusonYung Prime Florida JumpageMaxHenryParkour2015-02-22 | I went to Florida for two weeks with the Myrms and got to train so here's footage from that :) New York's been colder than Moscow for the past two months and there's ice and snow everywhere so outdoor training's been impossible. Looking forward to winter ending so I can jump furreal again.Might have another thing out in March/April at some point too before I go on a crazy European adventure. In the meantime, there's this! :)
-MaxPeut-Être FortMaxHenryParkour2014-10-29 | Footage from the past two months filmed on various phones/cameras/toasters/potatoes by various awesome people. Most of this was filmed in New York but there's also a few clips from Pittsburgh and one or two from my trip to Switzerland...been a pretty cool fall so far between the return of (relatively) consistent trainings with the various members of the Squid Squad and my Achilles pretty much being healed. I've been focusing a lot on getting back my lost strength and stuff. Failing a lot of the time but I'll be strong like my friends someday :)
Wore a bunch of sweet parkour clothes in this video too, they can all be found at one of the links below...It's cool to buy parkour clothes because even if they're kinda expensive you know the money is supporting some badass stuff for your friends :)
Song: He Woke Me Up Again by Sufjan StevensLong Island Iced TeaMaxHenryParkour2014-08-25 | I found my GoPro! Here's a compilation of random clips from the past month or so of training. Everything (except one clip in the Bronx) was filmed on Long Island. It's a pretty swell place to live and jump around. Most of the stuff I've been training lately has been to rehab some nagging injuries (lower back imbalance and an Achilles sprain that has hovered at 95% healed for 2 months) and/or highlight some of things I'm weaker at. So lots of running precisions and kong pre's and twisting haha. Hope y'all are having a good summer! Parkour is fun :)
Pretty much everything was filmed by my Yoked-kranian training buddy Nazar.

P.S. So this is basically just footage from late winter/spring/early summer of a bunch of things I finally accomplished in local spots and some new stuff I found and thought was cool. Filmed on the GhettoCam3000 donated to me by the legendary Andres "CinnamonTeddyGraham" Luzardo last winter. Got some more challenges to do before summer's end but I sprained my ankle recently and wanted to get this out so I suppose that'll have to be in another video (or just not on video at all haha). Might try and film some stuff in England as well when I go in August but I'm bad at filming on the road. We'll see. Hope everyone's summer trainings are going well xx

It's pretty cool, I promise! :)
The past few weeks I've been one of the living dead with my pollen allergies so I haven't really been able to train a ton. But it was gorgeous out today so I had my yearly flip session on the grass around my university campus and filmed a bit of it. Also, working on another video that has real things in it. So yeah. Enjoy your springs ladies and gentlemen :)

I tried it in the gym the other day off of spring floor into a lovely soft pit with a mat. The drop was about a foot, but I'm trying to work it up to level. Figured I'd throw it up here since I'm actually pretty close now. Probably would've landed hands and feet/knees with no drop. Maybe knees and face haha. For the record, landing was better than it looked haha the pit just threw me back the instant I touched.Keeping It (C)old SchoolMaxHenryParkour2012-12-09 | Part 1
Some recent trainings captured on the Andres Luzardo certified ghetto cam as fall turns into winter. Also one clip from the beginning of fall I got on my GoPro. It's been raining a bunch lately, otherwise I would've filmed more. I've found lots of tough challenges lately so this will probably result in another two ghetto cam training videos. Plus I might try and make something with Dylan since I'll be spending almost all of January in Colorado. So yeah :)
I started training parkour in 2007, when I was 14. Since then, I've had tons of opportunities to meet new people, make new friends, create a bunch of great memories, travel to some amazing foreign places, and just enjoy the life God's been generous enough to give me. When I started training, five years always seemed like a huge milestone. Maybe because it's the half-decade mark, I don't really know...but I always hoped I'd be at a really solid level when I'd gotten through five years of training. Now that I have, I made this video so I can look back at some of the challenges and accomplishments I've had in my trainings this year. This is by no means a "showreel," it's just a thing trying to depict bits and pieces of the way I train by showing some hard stuff I finally did after lots of tries ;) Before you all quit reading I'd like to throw in a thank you to Vic and David, the co-founders of WooF PooF, for providing me with so many opportunities to grow as a person and an athlete these past 3 years. I'd also like to thank my fellow training buddies the Squids (youtube.com/SquidSquadd) for being so damned fun to train with, and everyone else I've had the chance to meet/talk/eat/sleep/jump on stuff with. You guys are all amazing!
Musically, I'd like to sincerely thank Mr. Nick Ogawa (Takenobu) for giving me his permission to use this amazing song for my video. He's a brilliant musician, and has 4 albums of music to listen to free at www.takenobumusic.com, as well as a few free downloads. If you enjoyed the music in this video, please check out his website! You can also visit him on Facebook at facebook.com/TakenobuMusic.
Anyways, cheers for watching, that's it with all the serious stuff ;) Good luck with your trainings. Have fun and don't be lame!

The music is from the film August Rush, the name of the song is Ritual Dance (in case you didn't watch the first 6 seconds of the video). Today was a fun training day, I found a few fun new routes (influenced by Joenkkoe haha) at one of my favorite spots and did some things that weirded me out. Song: Banana Man by Tally HallThe KO ReviewMaxHenryParkour2010-08-13 | About a week ago, a few members of the Long Island parkour community tried on my pair of KOs and told me what they thought of them. We made this review first of all because it was fun, and second of all so that people could get an idea of what kind of shoe the KOs are. We made this review independent of the WFPF, although we did ask co-founders Victor Bevine and David Thompson to approve it before we uploaded it (as a matter of courtesy). Anyway, we hope you enjoy the video and I'd like to thank everyone that was involved in making it! Feel free to comment and ask questions :)
