I wrote this song as a vehicle to grieve and express my personal experience at the sudden passing of a very dear friend.
As it turns out, I honestly believe this needs to be shared with anyone who has suffered a loss.
As we all know, life moves on, with very little time to get through a painful loss, whether it's a friend, family member, or someone you know and admired.
"You're In Heaven Tonight" gives us a chance for about 6 minutes, to push the pause button, to reflect, and remember that special person, and maybe even have a good cry. That's why this song is longer than most. I wanted it to breath.
Special thanks to guitarist Andy Dion for adding his powerful but touching guitar moments. About halfway into the song, Andy plays a guitar solo that will not leave a dry eye to anyone listening.
Also, thanks to my wife and partner, Jenny, who helped with the mix, making sure it sounded just right.
