Anyone out here tend to be an all or nothing person?
This is one of the biggest struggles for me because when I can see a goal ahead of me and I think about all the things I have to get done, I start to get pretty excited.
But when I fall behind or I have to slow down (or I realize I was just expecting way too much of myself), I really have to battle that internal feeling of failure or like it was all for nothing.
It's so easy to forget how much we've actually done or how far we've actually come because the end result isn't here yet. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way!
One thing that's helped me more than anything else is making my work visible. When I started putting my tasks on sticky notes and those sticky notes up on the wall, I started visually seeing exactly how much I was getting done.
It's also helped me visually see when I'm working as hard as I can and only half the things are getting done. Which is of course a sure sign that I planned for more than I had the actual time and energy to complete.
If you're struggling to give yourself credit or keep moving forward because you feel like you're not doing enough and yet you always feel busy, consider putting your tasks someplace they're super visible so you can see just how much you're getting done.
And if you want a system that will teach you how to do this, as well as how to evaluate your time, energy, and capacity so that not overwhelming yourself every single month, consider joining us in the hb90 boot camp coming up.
one step at a time friends we've got this.
