Your MUST DO First Lake District Fell! To many people come to the Lake District to climb a first Fell, especially with children and pick the wrong Fell, which then puts them off. Orrest Head at Windermere is the perfect first family friendly Lake District Fell, which is completely accessible to everyone, even people with mobility issues. The 'miles without stiles' route is wheelchair accessible and offers a perfect way to the summit, which was Alfred Wainwrights very first climb, when he first came to the Lake District in 1930. A great path to follow, no edges, no drops but stunning views from the summit over Lake Windermere and all of the Lake District high fells.
