This isn’t the kind of video I enjoy making, but I wanted to be honest with you all…

Right now, I can’t get out and do the usual adventure videos – and that’s because my sciatica has flared up again. I’ve got a herniated disc between L5 and S1, which is pressing on the nerve root and sending sharp, shooting pain down my leg. It’s affecting me physically and mentally – and if you’ve had anything similar, you’ll know how tough it can be.

I’m doing everything I can to get back on my feet (literally), but recovery will take time. While I can’t get out on big trips at the moment, I’ve still got some short videos lined up for Instagram and TikTok, so please follow along and stay connected over there:

Thanks for joining me and my son on this packrafting adventure on Stora Gla, Glaskogen, Sweden.

Stora Gla is the largest lake in Glaskogen Nature Reserve, located in the province of Värmland, Sweden. It spans approximately 32 to 34.3 square kilometres (3,200 to 3,430 hectares) in area, making it one of the most significant bodies of water in the region and is perfecting for a packraft adventure.

The lake is renowned for its pristine wilderness setting, surrounded by dense forests and rugged terrain. It's a popular destination for packrafters offering a mix of big / small lakes, short portages and long hikes throught the beautiful environment, perfect for a packraft adventure. The surrounding Glaskogen Nature Reserve encompasses nearly 29,000 hectares and includes around 80 lakes, with Stora Gla being the most prominent .

Included in your camping card that can be purchased online and at the info centre is the ability to use the huts dotted along the shore. These huts are great to spend the night, in either the huts or a tent or hammock.

In this video, I head to the brilliant Cider Farm Fishery for an epic overnight rooftop tent camping and fishing session – and it did not disappoint!

Rods out, Tentbox up, and the kettle boiling – this was one of those all-round perfect weekends. I had a go at fly fishing for carp using the Infinite Infinity travel rod by Rigged and Ready – and let me tell you, it's an absolute weapon for this kind of setup. Light, compact, and handled those carp like a dream.

To top it all off, I whipped up an amazing surf and turf on the Lil Alien BBQ – because nothing says luxury camping like steak and prawns by the lake!

Then it’s off to Grjótagjá, a hidden lava cave with a geothermal hot spring inside. This spot is not only a natural wonder – it's also where Game of Thrones fans will recognise Jon Snow's love cave. Steamy in more ways than one.

Finally, we hit the road again for a 5.5-hour journey through jaw-dropping Icelandic scenery back to Þingvellir National Park, where this adventure all began.

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach – Walk among towering basalt columns and the ocean’s powerful waves at this iconic location, which was featured in Netflix’s Eurovision: The Story of Fire Saga.
Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach – Marvel at the giant icebergs floating in the serene glacier lagoon and the scattered ice chunks that sparkle on the black sand.

In the episode of this Iceland vlog, we kick off our Iceland road trip in late April in a Kúku Campervan and start exploring some of Icelands most iconic (and underrated) sights! We pick up our Campervan from Kúku Campers (the best campervan rental in Iceland). → https://www.kukucampers.is Kuku campers are the biggest and best camper rental in Iceland. We stock up on supplies at Bónus Supermarket in Reykjavík → maps.app.goo.gl/abtPoLzDFdL29V2Q9 and hit the Golden circle.

🚐 From there, we hit the road for a full Ring Road adventure, beginning with the famous Golden Circle route. First stop:
🌊 Gullfoss Waterfall – thunderous and dramatic, a must-see
🌋 Geysir Geothermal Area – home to the original geyser
🛁 Hrunalaug Hot Spring – small, rustic, and highly recommended over the big spas!

We spent our first night camping at Þingvellir National Park Campsite → https://www.thingvellir.is/en/service/camping/

⛺ If you’re visiting out of season and the campsites are closed, you can still stay overnight for free—just be aware that facilities will be shut.

The next morning, we took a walk to Öxarárfoss, then ticked off one of the biggest highlights of the trip: Scuba diving in Silfra, between two tectonic plates in crystal-clear water. Unreal experience.

Later that day, we visited the iconic Seljalandsfoss waterfall—you can walk behind it, but definitely bring a waterproof!

🛑 While the facilities were a bit rough and weather-worn, the location right next to the waterfall made up for it.

Join us on an unforgettable overnight camping trip in the woods with Ginge and @simonablokeinthewoods I start the day off fishing at the same spot where I caught my PB Pike, before heading back to the truck to grab my LK-35 bushcraft bag and setting off into the wilderness.

In the woods, there lives a family of badgers, will we spot a badger? Stay tuned to find out! 🦡 As night falls, Ginge prepares a delicious Scottish dish: Cullen Skink—a hearty smoked haddock soup perfect for a camping adventure. We also enjoy some delicious Polish sausages the next morning, cooked up on the Lil Alien BBQ Pit.

Cullen Skink Recipe: Ingredients:

450g smoked haddock
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium potato, peeled and chopped
1 liter of milk
1 tbsp butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions:

In a large pan, melt butter and sauté the chopped onion until soft.
Add the chopped potatoes and cook for a few minutes.
Pour in the milk and bring it to a gentle simmer.
Add the smoked haddock and simmer for around 10 minutes until the fish is cooked through.
Flake the haddock into bite-sized pieces and return it to the pot.
Season with salt and pepper, and add parsley if desired.
Serve hot and enjoy a taste of Scotland around the campfire!

Happy new year everyone, here's to a year full of adventures. This is a film of a get together a few of us had last weekend including @AntSurviveTheNight and @simonablokeinthewoods to name a few.

A very wintery camp at Wardley Hill, Norfolk for a few days then a move to Three Rivers Campsite based on the river Waveney.

Experience the ultimate winter camping in a roof tent as I take on freezing temperatures, cook up a delicious campfire meal, and embrace the rugged beauty of the outdoors. With my roof tent setup, I stay warm and comfortable while overlanding through scenic landscapes. Watch as I prepare a hearty seafood boil over an open fire—because good food makes cold nights worth it!

Camping in the @TentBoxOfficial Cargo alongside a diesel heater to keep warm. It was a weekend of great food: Curries, Dutch Oven roasted lamp and an amazing seafood boil by myself.

A bit of packrafting on the river and plenty of beers.

It's so versatile and has all the great features of the Rebel 2K but with upgrades!.

It's a Long single packraft with spraydeck for a fast speed, it has a high level of comfort as well as lots of space and extra storage space, even for tall paddlers.

It has an inner length 168 cm and a Width of 37 cm, Outer Length 272 cm
and a width of 91 cm.

It's fast at 5.5 kph and has a maximum capacity of 180 kg.

The Rebel 3KL+ can be purchased with tubebags which personally I think is a brilliant addition compared to the Cargo fly you find on other packrafts.

It comes in two colour variations and the basic model costs €999

Thanks to its design as a long single packraft, the Anfibio Rebel 3KL+ offers plenty of fun on extended tours in calm waters as well as in moderate white water.

Despite its extensive upgrades, it is one of the ultralight packrafts in its class.
At 3 kg and a pack size of 35 x 20 cm, (for the model without tubebags) it is definitely still suitable for backpacking!

The whole aspect of this idea: carry on camping is to be able to carry your hiking and camping gear onto the plane as cabin baggage, no paid cabin baggage.

Hiking around this beautiful national park just south of stockholm. Tyresta is a great and easy place to get to if you're looking for a place to go hiking in Sweden.

Using a 20L bag and carrying everything onto the plane (including food) we spend a great time hiking around Tyresta National Park.

This trip cost less than a 5 hour drive to the Lake District and took less time so makes this micro adventure really cost effective.

This is a winner, winner method for catching big Perch: hair rigged livebait. Using a 6lb wire trace with a hair rigged live bait. Fishing with the Rigged and Ready World Traveller travel rod, and a tenkara rod and half a pint of maggots for the live bait.

Glaskogen is a nature reserve located in the province of Värmland, between the municipalities of Årjäng and Arvika, in the west mid-Sweden. It was established as a nature reserve in 1970 and has a land area of about 28,000 hectares.

Join me and Jared on our second day packrafting around the beautiful Glaskogen nature reserve in Sweden. Day 2 is a zero day where we catch up on tasks from the previous trip around Ostmarka in Norway, explore the lake and a bit of whittling.

Glasokghen is a perfect place to visit and even better with a packraft as you're not limited to the lakes and the portages are easier than wheeling a canoe.

One piece of advice is to hammock camp if you're visiting Glaskogen as you'll be lucky to find a perfect tent camping spot at the dano huts. Some have good tent spots but some are limited.

This place will keep drawing me back. This is the 2nd visit and still there's loads more lakes and forest to explore.

Join Jason and myself on this epic 9 day packrafting trip around Glaskogen nature reserve, Sweden. After 4 days in Ostmarka, Norway we drive to Glaskogen, leave the hire car at our 1st hut and make our way paddling accross some beautiful lakes and hiking through some amazing forest.

Using the MRS packraft we combine hiking and packrafting with some fishing and a fair bit of humour (mostly aimed at Jason) in the amazing Nature Reserve.

It costs about £60 for 4 days fishing and as most of Scandinavia you can camp where you like. There is a fire ban all over Norway through the summer months so make sure you've got something to cook on.

First two nights spent on a lake called Floyta and what a great campsite it was.

Easiest way to visit these place is with a hire car, although expensive it gives you the ability to visit many beautiful places in the Ostmarka area.

Wild Norfolk Chalk Stream Fly Fishing

During my annual stay at Narborough Fisheries I managed to land 2 days fly fishing on this beautiful Norfolk Chalk Stream, the River Nar. Not the best conditions to fish with a dry fly but still a great couple of days.

Heading down to deep dark Essex to meet the boys from Reel Therapy Fishing I spend the night in the @TentBoxOfficial Cargo Roof Tent at Grange Farm Campsite in Thorpe Le Soken due to starting early the next day.

Early start due to the tides and We meet the guys at Titchmarsh Marina for a days boat fishing.

Using the @riggedreadytravelfishingro7803 Infinite Ultimate travel rod as a boat rod and my old trusty boat rod that has served many years of boat fishing, we try many different baits and catch a range of fish of the coast of Harwich and in the river basin.
