Thanks to Ulli's support i was able to dyno test this little old school car audio amplifier after the repair !
It came in defective but the fix was easy because these amps often feature well known problems after all the years!

The amp came in defective , one channel had no output. Luckily all transistors checked ok.
The problem was a relay with damaged output contacts and an open trace on the RCA ground. I repaired the amp and now you can enjoy the amp dyno video :)
After the repair i dyno tested the amplifier with 50Hz and 1kHz continuous sinewave input signals.
I also tested for dynamic power with 3 different input burst signals: 20ms 1kHz burst regarding IHF 202 standard, 8ms burst 1 kHz every 32 mili seconds and a very short 1 ms 1 kHz burst test which represents the maximum peak RMS output power of the amplifier for a short time.
I also show the difference in power consumption between continuous test signals and burst signal. The burst signals have a higher crest factor than continuous sinwave which has a crest factor of 3 dB. High crest factor signals have less demand to the amps power supply.
The amp is nicely underrated and it was impressive output power. I was also very impressed of the build quality of this Kenwood KAC 1023 ! It was a pleasure to work on such a device !!

I tested the amplifier for output power with four channels loaded and the subwoofer channel has been tested separately.
The four channels have been tested with a 1000hz sinewave continuous input signal.
The sub channel has been tested using a 20Hz sinewave input signal!

This time the MTX blue thunder pro 300x2 oldschool car audio amplifier is ready for the dyno test.
tests made down to 1 Ohm per channel.
Test methods were : continous sine wave test and several dynamic burst tests including 1kHz burst IHF-202 standard.
Both stereo channels have been tested for output power.
This video also features a comparison to the legendary MTX Thunder 2300 , check out the end of the video - i show both power test sheets to compare the output power of both amplifiers!

Its the XM 2100 G which is rated 110 Watts into a 4 Ohm load per channel of output power.

This video features the lowest resistive load test with 0.33 Ohms bridged mono which is 0.16 Ohm per channel but just for demonstration with a 1ms 1kHz burst power test.
The MTX Thunder 225 HO performed well in the tests.

This amp is really small and delivers a nice amount of output power ideal as a desktop amplifier.
Its a class D design and has a good protection against overload or low impedances. Its also possible that it shut off because of power supply limits ;-)
All tests are continuous power tests because the amp doesnt have dynamic headroom.

I tested for continuous power and dynamic burst power.
I compared it to the old HCCA 250 which has been tested by @wal
and i also didnt get 400 Watts into 0.5 Ohms per channel.
I repaired the power supply of this amp to make this video possible!

I replaced the bumpy capacitors, the old ones looked a little like they were too long in the sun :)
This amp is rated 500 Watts into 4 Ohms, 1000 Watts into 2 Ohms and 1500 Watts into 1 Ohm.
I bet it will deliver more output power if tested with 14.4V and up!
All tests made with a 50Hz sinewave signal.

This amp is almost identical to the Phonic XP 5000 and QSC RMX 5050 but with less features.
It features just a built in clip limiter , xlr inputs, binding posts and speakon outputs for the speakers.
No dip-switches for low or high pass filters.
This amp should do a good job on bass or subwoofers.
The crown xls 5000 has been tested into several resistive loads like
8 ohms, 4 ohms and 2 ohms per channel with continuous sinewave and several dynamic burst test signals - 50Hz and 1kHz.
I also demonstrate clip behaviour and the difference in output power between both channels driven and a single channel driven.
The amp had a shorted transformer , a damaged power switch , soft start board had wrong components soldered in by someone who tried to fix it previously and some resistors were damaged which made bias adjustment impossible. Now everything is fixed and the amp is ready for the dyno test 👍😊

It performed well in the tests and this amp delivered a nice package for the money.
It also features a built in not defeatable subsonic filter of 25Hz to protect your subwoofer from overexcursion.

It performed very well especially in the low impedance tests.
Ususally most amps i tested were able to do some dynamic burst output power into 1 Ohm per channel but this model was able to put out even continuous sinewave power into 1 Ohm per channel!
Dynamic burst tests were made into 0.5 Ohm per channel which was also very impressive.
Continuous tests were made with 1000Hz and 50Hz.
The amp wasnt as underrated as other amps i tested so far from Rockford but this amplifier really surprised me with its performance!

The amp has been dyno tested with different test signals into resistive load down to 2 Ohms per channel both channels driven into clipping !
Also two sound quality tests were made , with and without " präsenz " button pressed which means a boost of 6dB at 3 kHz.

In my opinion this oldschool amp was on a higher quality level than other models from the same brand and era.
6 MosFETs for the power supply section was impressive.
The power supply was damaged i had to repair the amp, luckily i just had to replace the PS-MosFets and they were still available!

Its been called the holy grail and i have it on my test bench for you!!
The amp got tested with several resistive loads and many different test signals down to 2 Ohms mono!
The amplifier was really impressive and is nicely underrated, it almost doubled its output power!
My tests were made at 13.6V!

I tested 2 ohms continuous 50Hz and power is amazing , glad I found that amplifier 👍
In this dyno video i also show the clipping behavior of the amp with a scope!
The dyno features continuous power tests with 1kHz and 50Hz into 8 and 4 Ohm resistive loads and also dynamic burst tests with 1kHz and 50Hz which represents a simulated crest factor and is more like " music power ".
The amp was famous for its low price and high output power, especially for DJs or bands.
In the early 2000s this model range made high power sound reinforcement affordable.
I guess these t.amps were the most discussed amplifiers in european message boards because it was just unbelieveable that you really get an amp in this power range for under 300€ at this time.
I bought the bigger brother in 2002 and was also really surprised. It was the TA 2400 which delivered around 2x1200 Watts of 1kHz continuous power into 4 Ohms per channel! If i remember correct, i paid 298€ back then - what a bargain!
Even today the updated models are still available and the price of the TA 2400 is under 400€.
It is clear that you can not compare these amplifiers with more expensive amps which can easily handle 2 Ohm loads.

This is a nice stereo car audio amp and i guess from early 90s, rated 120 Watts into 4 Ohms.
That amp had a nice amount of power for early 90s and i guess it was really expensive.

In my opinion it’s an impressive piece of electronics - stay tuned for the dyno results!
The amp was built in 1994.
I bought this amp used and workingh and it didnt power up when it arrived. There was a problem with the power supply rectifier - all legs broke. It was very likey a problem with shipping!
I found out that this amp has been designed by the same Sir who designed some oldschool Rockford Fosgate amplifiers.
The amp has been tested with different sinewave signals for continuous and dynamic power.
