It means that most of Gendarmes’ missions are similar to any other police’s force around the world. Its origins traced back to the 12th century and it operates over 96% of French territory (metropolitan and overseas). 51% of the French population live in areas under Gendarmerie’s responsibility. The rest of the population, living in large urban areas, are under the responsibility of the National Police, a civilian force.I take the opportunity of an incident which happened in the north of Paris region on May 14, 2021 to pay tribute to our law enforcement forces, both Gendarmes and Policemen. For one year, since the death of George Floyd, some political groups have tried to replicate in France the current social upheaval occurring in the United States of America. This political maneuver is poorly received among the French population as recent polls suggest that a vast majority of the French supports their Police/Gendarmerie and condemns the lack of severity in penal sentences, in the context of an explosion of delinquency and criminality in our country.At least, this has opened in our Western societies the debate on the legitimate use of violence by a public force. In my personal views, the common good must always be considered a priority against individualistic demands (like when some minority groups request not to obey public rules just to follow their personal beliefs). However, I also believe that the public force must act responsibly and with humanity each time it is possible. The killing of unarmed civilians by a public force is something which should never happen in our developed societies. In this video, these Gendarmes have been showing an admirable amount of courage, of discipline and of efficiency by capturing alive a woman with seemingly psychiatric disorder and strolling around with a rifle. Despite the threat and the stress of such unstable situation, they have shown great control and humanity in front of a woman needing help, first of all. This video means to remind this : everyday, similar situations happen. Our Gendarmes and Policemen, men and women, serve us every day, every night, facing misery, madness and brutality. Sometimes, we hear about failures and journalists or “experts” are commenting on and on but none of them ever faced the reality of the job. And whatever the political activists are saying, we need public safety more than we need these activists.

Niger June 2019 – French GCP Parachute Commando hunting Islamic State Jihadists Nettempereur 2019-11-24 | A too short but very interesting video by Paris Match magazine about the action of the GCP in Niger against the “Islamic State in the Greater Sahara” group.These GCP notably belong to the 3rd RPIMa (Parachute Marine Infantry).From June 7 to June 19, 2019, French troops of Opération Barkhane led the operation “Aconit” at the Mali-Niger border. They were alongside Malian and Niger troops and were supported by US (unspecified, most likely intelligence) and British (logistical) forces. According to the French Ministry of the Armies, this operation was launched at the request of Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou after the ambush of Baley Beri which had claimed the lives of 27 Niger soldiers on May 14, 2019.If the operation did not bring specific results in Niger (shown in this video), the outcome in Mali was more significant : around 20 jihadists were killed, five more were captured. Weapons, ammunitions, motorbikes, communication devices were also seized. 3 French soldiers were wounded. Nettempereur 2019-03-08 | I cannot be entirely sure of the authenticity of this video but I can say these men are French (not other French-speaking accents like Canada or Belgium), they have equipment that the French Special forces use too, the area looks similar to videos related to the combats around the last ISIS enclave in eastern Syria.So, if this video is what I think, it is an exceptionnal document. We know anyway for sure that French Special Forces have been fighting alongside the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) against ISIS for two years at least. They are said to be currently near this last enclave of Baghuz Fawqani. They can count on French AirForce support (Operation Chammal) and from artillery support of three CAESAR which are located in Iraq (TaskForce Wagram).

WW1 - The Russian Expeditionary Force in France (1916-1917) Nettempereur 2018-04-19 | I have made this video because I am sick and tired of anti-Russian shitty propaganda and to remind all of us that we have more in common than these foolish disputes over some Syrian terrorists. I am an amateur military channel, I am French patriot so obviously, it would be easy to be a simplistic narrow-minded military fan and jump like crazy because we have sent a few missiles alongside our British and American comrades. But truth is, I believe that the West is wrong on Syria and Russia and I feel no joy at all about the recent developments of the Syrian war.In the same time, I have always supported French soldiers, sailors and airmen as I consider that they are serving us but they can never choose their missions and that I should support them, no matter my political feelings. It happened many times that I shared or promoted videos on our soldiers’ missions although I disagree with France’s military involvement in these conflicts (for example in Former Yugoslavia, in Libya or the Central African Republic).But an objective consideration on the situation in Syria leaves me no choice. I believe that the US, UK and France are not working for the best of their national interests and are not properly doing in the fight against Islamic terrorism in this region. I do not believe their storyline about Syria, Russia, chemical attacks and other news and I have no sympathy for Syrian “moderate rebels” (who are the most often actually related to Al Qaeda or other “democracy-loving” salafist groups…).Consequently, I announce the following:- I will not make or promote any video about French involvement in Iraq/Syria except if operations only against terrorist groups (notably ISIS).- If you are waiting for some “Russia, be warned” stupid videos from me, you will wait for a long long time.- I can just wait and hope for better relationships and cooperation between Russia and France, and with other Western partners. In the current situation, I believe that Russia, the Syrian Arab Republic led by President Bashar al-Assad and Iran should get more support from us than the insults and aggressive rhetoric that our political elites have developed for years in vain.

French army in 1940: What Nolans Dunkirk did not show you Nettempereur 2017-08-03 | Commenting the release of Christopher Nolan's "Dunkirk" movie, British historian Max Hastings said that 'The French will have to make their own film if they want their national story properly told.' I am ok with that, although I believe allied people should not feel annoyed to recognize the contribution of each others. "Dunkirk" movie is terribly historically inaccurate and unfortunately, I know many people will still take it for historical stuff although Nolan did not claim so.Here are some actual footages of the French Army fighting in France in June 1940 (Fall Rot), after the evacuation of Dunkirk. And also combats in Norway in May 1940. Truth must be told and shown about the actual contribution of French military and Free French Forces/French Resistance in WW2, and we shall not accept that our grand-fathers be forgotten or grossly ignored. They operated within two distinct frameworks:- the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), carried out by NATO on a United Nations mandate - "Operation Enduring Freedom", under US command, as part of the War on Terror.French forces contributed to both chapters in several national operations:- Opération Pamir with the ISAF,- Opération Héraklès for the naval and air components,- Opération Épidote for training of the Afghan Army,- Opération Arès for special operations within "Operation Enduring Freedom".All in all, around 70,000 soldiers fought in this country.
