TerraMaster D8 Hyrbid Raid Enclosure | 4 HDD Bay + 4 NVMe M.2 Slots GH Tech Review 2024-05-03 | This is the TerraMaster D8 Hybrid Enclosure that features 4 HDD bays and 4 NVMe Slots. This can hold a combined storage of up to 128TB. Kickstarterhttps://kck.st/49RoSAY TerraMaster D8 Hybrid details: d8hybrid.terra-master.com The first 2 HDD bays can be configured to Jbod, Raid 0, Raid 1, or Single right from the enclosure itself. HDD 3 and 4 will be handled as individual drives and the NVMe's that you install in here will also be handled as single drives. Now you can always set up raid to all your HDD through your computer which will be a software raid. This unit is quite big so you'll have to make room for it in your set up or pick up a longer USB C cable if you plan on placing it far from your computer or laptop. The TerraMaster D8 Hybrid Enclosure has a low fan noise of about 21db - 32 db so it won't be distracting and the unit goes to sleep when you put your computer or laptop to sleep. The power consumption on this is about 72W but it can spike up to 100W if you are using up all the bays. I have only been using this for almost a week, but this will be my main storage pool where I will store all of my video files and projects that I have finished. I currently have two 8TB Barracuda 5400rpm drives in here in raid 0 and I am getting an average transfer speed of 360mbs. I will be replacing this for two 8TB 7200rpm drives later this week and I hope to get transfer speeds of around 500mbs. I will let you know in the comment section when it arrives. I also own the Dreo smart wall heater and there is an issue where the remote control turns on and off both the heater and fan. After using the Dreo Air Purifier tower fan it has proven to be a great alternative to the Dyson TP07 tower fan at a more affordable price. This is more than enough for what most of us keep on our desks. The extra desk space you get from the L-shaped desk is perfect for doing homework, doing projects, or simply letting guests work on it. I submitted some office plans to the city, and thankfully, they got approved in December. By January 2024, the office was built and ready for my creative touch! I'm no interior designer, so finding the perfect balance between functionality and style was a challenge. I prioritized smart storage solutions to maximize space while keeping the aesthetics on point. I also mounted my studio lights on the wall to save space.I didn't go in-depth on my desk setup since I already did a desk setup tour video. I absolutely love how the space turned out, both efficient and visually stimulating!But it's not all work and no play! I also managed to squeeze in a comfy sofa. DREO 1500W Wall Space Smart Heater In Depth Review GH Tech Review 2024-02-19 | This is my in-depth review of the DREO 1500W Smart Heater. This is the WH719S Smart Wall-mounted Heater. DREO also offers this with a different type of outlet plugs, one being the standard plug, another with an ALCI, and the last one a Fort plug. Using the onboard controls, the remote control, the app, or through Google Assistant and Alexa. For the past month, this has been working really well. My preferred method is through the app and Google Assistant. The smart space heater has 3 different heat modes, H1 at 900W, H2 at 1300W, and H3 at 1500W. Make sure this heater doesn't share an outlet with any other appliances if you plan on running this. You might be able to get away with running this on H1 with other appliances, but I would not risk it. It's always best to have an individual circuit just for a space heater to avoid any damage to the wires and to prevent electrical fires due to overloads. If you are looking for a sleek wall-mounted space heater that is light and easy to install and that can keep your room warm then this might be the heater you have been looking for. This space heater has been keeping my room warm during this winter cold. The heater takes about 3 hours to increase my room temperature by 15 degrees. It all depends on how well-insulated your room is. The battery life on this so far seems to be decent, in 1 month of usage the battery dropped to 53%, so it looks like it will last 2 months before I need to recharge it. Ryzen 9 7950x, RTX 3080 4K Video Editing PC Build 2024 Time Lapse GH Tech Review 2024-01-09 | This is my 4K Video Editing PC Build and Gaming PC Build. I am using the AMD Ryzen 9 7950x with the RTX 3080 GPU on the Asus x670 F gaming motherboard. For cooling, I am using the Deepcool LS520 WH cooler for my CPU and I am using the Corsair LL120 RGB fans for my PC case. The case that I have is the Corsair 4000x RGB Case. I first went with 128 GB of DDR5 5600mhz RAM from Corsair, but my build was not stable so I had to revert to 64 GB. I recently did a BIOS update and was able to successfully run 128 GB of RAM on the Asus x670 motherboard. This has a bit of ASMR so it's line ASMR Pc build. The notable difference is the new heart rate monitoring system. It now features multi-path sensors and the rotating crown is much smoother. It got a $500 dollar discount and for that price, it makes it more appealing. The 14.4" pixel sense display looks great and the display articulation makes it great. This allows you to use the laptop as a tablet to draw on or to bring the display closer without moving the entire laptop. The battery life is really good. I have been getting roughly 9-10 hours on a single charge with media browsing, reading articles, scripting, watching movies, and YouTube videos. When I do more graphic-intensive tasks, such as editing photos or editing 1080p videos, the battery only lasts about 5 hours. This is still a good amount for the work it's doing and the fans don't get that loud. The battery life will vary depending on usage. I personally got roughly 29 hours of battery life on a single charge with the always-on-display, sleep tracking, and heart rate monitor set to continuous. When I disabled the always-on display and set heart rate monitoring to every 10 minutes, I got about 36 hours of battery life. It has a self-leveling feature making it very simple to fly. The controls are also very simple to learn. There are 3-speed modes on this. There is 3m/s, 5m/s and 7m/s. This allows you to gradually increase the speed as you gain more confidence. The drone also has an auto return to home when the battery gets critically low or if you press the return button on the controller. One of the downsides is that the battery only lasts 20 minutes and if you have the auto return to home enabled, then you will get more of a 15-17 minute flying session because then it will make its way back to you. This drone has a 4K camera @20fps and can shoot in 2.7K @30fps. The drone does not have a gimbal so the video will be quite shaky. If you want a smooth video, you will need to fly at the lowest speed and make very slow turns. Compared to the DJI mini, this drone is not that great with the video quality, but for the price it is great. This is the perfect beginner drone if you are looking for an easy and enjoyable flying experience. It gives you a battery gauge for just the earbuds, but not for the case. You will need to look at the 3 dots at the front of the charging case to see how much battery is left on the case. You can also enable and disable the ANC and Transparency modes. The last thing it lets you do is adjust your EQ, but you get no find my earbuds. The battery life on this is great. The camera lens has an aperture of f/1.6 which allows the sensor to take in more light, allowing it to give you a better image at night than most cameras. Elemake Smart Deadbolt Lock Review GH Tech Review 2023-05-30 | This is the Elemake smart deadbolt lock. Just like many of the smart locks out there, this aims to simplify the user's access while at the same time improving the security of their home. There are no physical dials on the interface, it’s just a large touchpad with the fingerprint reader indented on the top right. The frame is made of metal, primarily of zinc alloy and some plastic. This is designed to endure outdoor weather and with an IP65 rating. It should fair well against rain and keep dust out. There are a couple of ways to unlock this. You have the option of using your fingerprint, pin code, using the RF card, through your phone via Bluetooth, over wifi and the final way of getting in is through the traditional key.
