Inspired by DMX’s iconic line from “Party Up (Up in Here)”, this LIVE discussion is diving deep into what it feels like to be a high-achieving Black Woman carrying the weight of “Black Excellence” in working environments that are chaotic, disrespectful, and straight-up dehumanizing. The kind of spaces that don’t just drain you—they make you question "did I work this hard for this?!"
Some of these jobs have us moving through our day like the background track to a meltdown. The pressure to perform, the unspoken racism and sexism, as well as the gaslighting, the microaggressions—it is all compounding. And now, with the political climate feeling like confusion on top of crisis can make you feel like you are living out a DMX "Party Up (Up In Here)" video .
In this discussion, we are creating space to name the burnout, unpack the emotional and spiritual cost, and explore how to pivot toward creating a life that you deserve without losing your mind and still being able to pay your bills.
