Its ability Stakeout allows Mabosstiff to deal double the damage if the opponent switches out, which happens quite often. Fairy Terastallization gives Play Rough STAB while also removing key weaknesses to Fighting and Bug in particular. I figured the best way to run this Pokemon would be to include a lot of hazards (hence why I added Glimmora for hazards and Gholdengo to prevent hazard removal) since Mabosstiff 2HKO's Corviknight on the switch and Taunts many Defoggers in the tier. Then I added 3 offensive sweepers to the team: Azumarill, Iron Moth, and Dragonite. First, it has really nice coverage especially with Terastallization combined with very solid stats. Second, Arboliva has a natural immunity to Shadow Ball which a lot of dangerous Ghost types in the tier are seen running. Third, it has an ability that activates Grassy Terrain upon contact, making it not only a stronger attacker of Grass type moves but also excellent support for your team. And last but not least, Arboliva has amazing healing potential in either Strength Sap or Leech Seed with Harvest Berries. Fairy Terastallization removes a lot of its key weaknesses and takes on a wider variety of Pokemon. I paired it with Gastrodon and Corviknight for Stealth Rocks and Defog support with Rocky Helmet for consistent chip damage. Scream Tail is on the team for Wish support and to shut down setup sweepers with Encore. Chi-Yu is an extremely hard hitting special attacker that can rip apart teams with Choice Specs, and greatly benefits from the Grassy Terrain set by Arboliva. I found Choice Specs to be most useful in making Kilowattrel quite the powerhouse. Of course I had to pair it with Pelipper for Rain, and then I added Swift Swim Floatzel which probably has the greatest buff I've ever seen in a Pokemon. With Wave Crash, Choice Band, Rain boosting Water type attacks, and Water Terastallization, you'll OHKO all kinds of Pokemon (even resistances). Then I added Quaquaval to give us a Dark type resistance against Chi-Yu and another Pokemon that benefits from having its Water move boosted in the rain. With Glare and Calm Mind we're able to Paralyze opponents and potentially increase our Special Attack similarly to how a Nasty Plot Togekiss functioned in the previous gen OU tier. Tera Flying also gives us a Ground immunity and turns our Fighting weakness into a resistance. I paired Dudunsparce with Choice Band Dragapult since it's incredibly strong and goes through Substitute and Dual Screens with its Infiltrator ability. Iron Hands is another strong attacker I added to the team to help Dudunsparce destroy bulkier Pokemon. First of all this is perhaps the bulkiest Paradox Pokemon we've received. Iron Hands can sponge hits very easily making it a prime candidate for a sweeper. Tera Water removes its key weaknesses so that you can destroy its natural "counters". Not to mention that behind screens you can withstand the craziest attacks as well. This is why I paired it with Grimmsnarl to set up Light Screen and Reflect and to allow Iron Hands to do its thing. Then I added the combination of Glimmora and Gholdengo to get up hazards fast and aggressively block them. With hazards up and screens set, your opponent will be frantic to remove them which allows time for you to use Cyclizar to Shed Tail into Iron Hands and begin the sweep. Before you know it you'll be at maximum attack and knocking out Pokemon after Pokemon. And to make this team even more special, I added Sharpness Gallade. This Pokemon is actually incredible, since its new ability Sharpness boosts its attack by 1.5x for all slicing moves (which is all of the attacks we are running on it). This might be one of the most destructive sets I've ever seen. With Agility and Calm Mind, Farigiraf can boost the power of Stored Power significantly. Coupled with its ability Armor Tail, you cannot be hit by priority moves which means a Pokemon either needs to naturally outrun you (which is rare after you're fully set up), or survive a hit and knock you out (again quite difficult with the bulk this Pokemon has). Tera Blast Fighting allows us to deal with Dark types and also take way less damage from strong Bug type attacks. To increase its bulk potential I paired this set with Dual Screens Grimmsnarl which is great to ensure we can sweep a lot easier. Then I added the Glimmora and Gholdengo combination to get up as many hazards as possible and prevent them from being removed by Defog and Rapid Spin using Gholdengo's ability and natural immunity to Normal attacks. It seems I was mistaken. After using Meowscarada, I can confirm that it is actually such a powerhouse and incredibly difficult to switch into. A Choice Band set hits with incredible power, and not even the bravest bird Corviknight can survive the wrath of Protean boosted Thunder Punch. I decided to turn this team into Blissey Offense (which for all those that are unfamiliar with the strategy Chansey Offense, it's when you have 5 all out offensive Pokemon and 1 wall Chansey, or in this case Blissey). Iron Moth can provide much needed Fire damage to Bulky Grass types like Amoonguss that we can capitalize on with Meowscarada's U-Turn. Great Tusk is our lead of choice in most scenarios as it has the ability to set up Stealth Rocks and Rapid Spin, while also offensively pressuring opposing Pokemon with Booster Energy boosting in Attack and two very powerful STAB moves. Dragonite is the main sweeper for the team and can get us out of many tight situations with Normal Terastallization boosted Extreme Speed. I then wanted something fast right from the start that was faster than things Meowscarada couldn't outrun, so I added Choice Scarf Gholdengo which also contributes to the team by providing some valuable resistances and immunities. That's because Quaquaval's sweeping potential is off the charts with Bulk Up to boost Attack and Defense, Aqua Step (its new signature move) to boost speed, and its hidden ability Moxie to boost Attack whenever it knocks out a Pokemon. I enjoy using Tera Blast with an Electric Terastallization to KO Toxapex and also hit Corviknight without taking Rocky Helmet damage. I paired this Pokemon with Chi-Yu to help against bulkier Grass type Pokemon like Amoonguss and destroy them with Fire moves. Hawlucha is there for Defog to remove hazards, which seems like an unusual role for it to fill, but it's amazing in the Gholdengo metagame since Mold Breaker bypasses its ability that blocks Defog. As the very first Fairy and Fighting type Pokemon we have received, I had to try it out. This Pokemon has incredible offensive prowess on both the Physical and Special side, and it has some pretty insane coverage as well. Terastallizing into Electric type and using Thunderbolt allows you to defeat Corviknight, Toxapex, and much more while resisting Bullet Punch in the process. The mixed potential of this Pokemon is great and to make it even better, I added Pincurchin to the team to provide Electric terrain support (with Terrain Extender for maximized turns) which not only boosts the power of Thunderbolt but also raises Iron Valiant's speed from the Quark Drive ability. Hope you enjoy Binding Blade Ceruledge in the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/e3c8d41e901f7b8dIn my opinion, Ceruledge is one of the coolest looking Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. It has a pretty nice typing in Fire and Ghost and a ton of firepower that comes with it. I wanted to use it in a way that would utilize its signature move Binding Blade in the best way possible, so I went with a Choice Band set to do as much damage as possible. Binding Blade is a 90 power physical Fire type attack that also heals you 50% of the damage you've dealt so I figured Choice Band would make this move shine as best as possible. This Pokemon isn't all that fast in comparison to some of the other Pokemon in the current metagame, so Choice Band with Shadow Sneak was what I opted for along with a Ghost tera typing. Ceruledge has the ability Weak Armor which is nice to get a Speed boost vs Pokemon that go for weak moves like U-Turn. I paired this Pokemon with Ting-Lu for Stealth Rock and Corviknight for Defog to form a nice core. Then I added Amoonguss and Dondozo for some added resistances to Water. Amoonguss is a fantastic Regenerator pivot and Dondozo cannot be set up against due to its ability Unaware. Since I had a lot of defensive tanks on this team to support Ceruledge, I added Blissey to round the team off as a Special wall. Hope you enjoy Rage Fist Annihilape in the Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/fee5aa32679ba576Annihilape is in my opinion one of the most broken mons and my favorite new evolution from Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It has a cool new move called Rage Fist which is a physical Ghost type move that starts at 50 base power, increasing by 50 each time you are hit by an attack. Switching out won't reset the base power once it has increased and I don't even know if there's a cap on how much damage you can do. The best way to use this Pokemon was with Bulk Up and a bulky chinese EV spread to tank hits from everything. Taunt shuts down Pokemon trying to status you or phaze you out, and Dual Screens Grimmsnarl provides the much needed support to make Annihilape even more bulky. Terastallization into Water type removes Annihilapes key weaknesses and also makes you a Palafin counter. I also added Shed Tail Cyclizar to potentially pass a Substitute into Annihilape to make the setup combination even more broken. I then added some familiar sweepers in Iron Treads, Roaring Moon, and Flutter Mane (which is now banned from OU unfortunately so any good sweeper can work in its place preferably a strong fairy type one). This is incredibly useful on many offensive teams either to bring them in safely or sweep an opposing team right then and there. I went with a Choice Scarf Regenerator support set to get the fastest Shed Tails possible and outrun other Pokemon. Then, I added a hazard lead in Glimmora which IMO is one of the best hazard leads I've seen, possessing an ability to set up Toxic Spikes after taking a contact move, a Rapid Spin type move that Poisons the foe, and both Stealth Rocks and Spikes. Then it was time to add my sweepers. Chien-Pao, Scream Tail, and Iron Treads are all setup sweepers in their own way, each one very different from the other in the sweeping role they accomplish. I wanted to build around my starter Pokemon Skeledirge, and with the Terastallization mechanic running loose in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet OU tier, I knew I could make something broken work for this Pokemon. I gave it Torch Song to boost Special Attack along with Shadow Ball just to hit as possible. Skeledirge can terastallize into Fairy type and Terrablast Dark type threats that it's weak against which can really change the tide of the game. I paired it with lots of broken Pokemon such as Roaring Moon, Flutter Mane, and Chien-Pao as sweepers of the team. Since the metagame right now is filled with broken stuff and offense, I figured we need to keep some additional firepower of our own. Hope you enjoy Last Resort Porygon-Z in the Pokemon Showdown Sword and Shield OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/06b3830a57d364b1I was requested to bring Agility Porygon-Z with Last Resort, and of course how could I not. This specific Porygon-Z set has issues of being completely shut down by Ghost types and bulky Steel types, but that wouldn't stop me. I decided to pair it with all out offense, adding a Lycanroc lead to guarantee the Stealth Rocks and potentially Endeavor down an opposing Pokemon once we hold onto our Focus Sash. From there, I added Mamoswine and Dragonite, both of which can destroy Steel types and potentially the more common Ghosts like Dragapult and Blacephalon. Tapu Fini helps against Fighting types like Buzzwole that Porygon struggles against, in addition to dealing with Weavile, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, Dragapult, etc. Finally I added Swords Dance Timid Kartana (for speed beast boosts) and Scope Lens with Psycho Cut to potentially snipe Buzzwole and be a nice win condition for our team alongside Dragon Dance Dragonite. Hope you enjoy Throat Spray Flygon in the Pokemon Showdown Sword and Shield OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/7532bcec3f270881It seems I have not yet done a Flygon feature for this generation so I decided to bring the most dangerous Flygon set in OU: Throat Spray Boomburst. This allows Flygon to have the power of Choice Specs without locking into a certain move. It can be especially useful to destroy Pokemon that expect you to be a physical attacker, such as Buzzwole and Lando-T which are common switch-ins. I paired Flygon with Toxapex and Blacephalon for some solid Ice and Fairy resists. Blacephalon also helps against bulkier teams being able to Substitute vs. Toxic or Thunder Wave users and setup more efficiently. Corviknight is there for Defog support while Tangrowth functions well alongside Toxapex to form a Regenerator core and counter to Rain teams which can help Flygon not have to take any unnecessary damage. Finally I needed something to hit like a truck which is why I added Choice Band Tyranitar. There are many reasons why you'd want to use Sand Rush Excadrill over Sandslash, but Sandslash has a niche in that it's not weak to Ground and Fighting like Excadrill is. Also since it is less seen of a Pokemon, it is easier to catch your opponents off guard. This is why I have chosen to run Aerial Ace, since Buzzwole is a common switch-in you can take advantage of your opponents lack of awareness and absolutely demolish it after Swords Dance. I paired Sandslash with Tyranitar to activate its Sand Rush ability, as well as Dracozolt to have a secondary Sand Rush user that can also help destroy bulky Water type Pokemon for it. Then I added Vaporeon as a water immunity and a Pokemon that can easily switch into Volcanion's Steam Eruption without the risk of burning our other Pokemon. Hope you enjoy AV Golisopod in the Pokemon Showdown Sword and Shield OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/224e9d6b92b33d22I recall being suggested to bring Golisopod back for another video (since the last time I used this Pokemon was probably when it first came out), so I built a team around AV Golisopod. The boost in SpDef from its item will allow Golisopod to potentially remain on the field longer before its Emergency Exit ability activates. This is great against Pokemon such as Tapu Fini to be able to get Poison Jab damage and weaken it further. I paired Golisopod with Magnezone because the Emergency Exit ability can allow you to potentially trap Ferrothorn, Corviknight, and Melmetal for free without hard-switching in which is great since Golisopod can't handle those Pokemon by itself. I then added Rillaboom and Victini which are amazing paired with Golisopod, as Rillaboom gives residual recovery with Grassy Terrain and Victini is a great Pokemon to go off of Golisopod's ability and click powerful V-creates. Finally I added Scarf Landorus-T for Defog support and U-Turn momentum as well as Umbreon to keep Golisopod healthy and status-free. However, apparently this item was usable in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl OU so I found myself in that tier again trying out this Pokemon and I was so surprised to see it putting in amazing work there. I have enough speed on it to outrun the standard defensive Scizor sets in the tier and the combination of Ice Beam, Flamethrower, and Earthquake can do significant damage to commonly seen Pokemon in the tier such as Garchomp, Gliscor, Scizor, and Heatran among others. I then added Magnezone to trap Pokemon and also just to have a nice fast Scarf user for the team. We also have Gliscor on this team so we can have a Ground type that gives us some momentum as well as Stealth Rocks. For Defog support, I went with Skuntank which is pretty unique in the tier. It is able to destroy Pokemon such as Starmie, Alakazam, Breloom, and much more. I decided to go with Choice Band Sylveon due to its nuking potential with Pixelate and Double Edge which has enough fire power to potentially 2HKO Landorus-T. I also like Facade on this Sylveon set in case we are burned to power it up to even greater heights, as well as Quick Attack for priority against faster things like Galarian Moltres, Hawlucha, and Dragapult. I added Mystical Fire as the last slot to OHKO Kartana and 2HKO Ferrothorn. Since this set is walled by other Steel types like Heatran and Corviknight, I added AV Magnezone with Mirror Coat to trap and eliminate these Pokemon (especially Heatran). Since I have the trapping potential with Magnezone, I stacked on my Fairy types by adding Choice Specs Tapu Lele for a hard-hitting nuke on the special side to be the counterpart of physical Sylveon. Then I added Mandibuzz for Defog and to resist Shadow Ball, as well as Gastrodon to sponge Water type hits from things like Volcanion and be an Electric immunity. I went with AV since Electivire's Motor Drive ability makes it a great candidate to switch into Electric Pokemon like Zapdos, Tapu Koko, Regieleki, etc so I wanted it to have as much tanking potential on the special side as possible while keeping up its offensive prowess. With AV and Rock Tomb and the specific Attack investment we're able to OHKO offensive Volcarona and do a considerable amount to defensive variants. Thunder Punch is chosen over Wild Charge so we don't take that much recoil and are still able to survive attacks. Ice Punch and Earthquake give us great coverage against Ground types like Landorus-T and Garchomp in addition to Steel types like Magnezone and Heatran. I paired Electivire with Rillaboom to weaken Ground type attacks through its ability, though we'd have to be careful that we don't need to use Earthquake while Grassy Terrain is up. Umbreon is added to the team to keep Electivire healthy and remove any annoying status from it. Aegislash and Volcanion apply tons of pressure by dealing heavy damage on the special side and give the team some nice resistances and switch-ins. Finally I added Dragonite to assist against Rillaboom, Kartana, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, etc while also providing Defog support for the team. I decided to go with Expert Belt cuz I knew then it would be Belt different (hahaha) and gave it a bunch of nice coverage moves. Lava Plume has high chance of Burn so I definitely wanted to go with that, and Thunderbolt does good damage to Tapu Fini, Toxapex, and OHKO's Pelipper and Urshifu Rapid Strike. Weather Ball with Hail allows you to OHKO Landorus-T (including the SpDef sets) and Cross Chop allows you to break past Blissey while also dealing considerable damage to Heatran. I paired Magmortar with Alolan Ninetales to get Hail and gave it the role of a Nasty Plot sweeper. Since it's not a dedicated Hail team I gave it Heavy Duty Boots to prevent taking damage from Stealth Rocks. Next I went with Slowbro as a Regenerator pivot which has some great sponging capability and coverage. Rillaboom was then added to the team in order to give some residual HP back to Magmortar and weaken Earthquake which can be quite useful. It also provides us with super strong priority Grassy Glide. My Stealth Rock and Defog core is Landorus-T and Corviknight for obvious reasons as they are amazing but Landorus has Weather Ball as well to destroy other Landorus which makes it quite unique. Hope you enjoy Choice Specs Vikavolt in the Pokemon Showdown Sword and Shield OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/0988eaf0d6275bc1The combination of comments suggesting to use Vikavolt and Joey saying that it's the biggest let down in Pokemon has inspired me to bring Vikavolt into the OU tier and make it put in the finest of work. I opted to run Choice Specs to make it's insane base 145 Special Attack even more powerful. It doesn't have the best coverage but it'll still hit like a truck with Bug Buzz and Thunderbolt. I paired it with Garchomp because Vikavolt can pressure things like Corviknight so the two go pretty well together, and Garchomp also Substitutes over Blissey and doesn't get broken. Vikavolt also destroys Clefable which can be a problem for Garchomp especially if its Unaware. Then I added Tyranitar to the team for Stealth Rocks and a reliable Shadow Ball switch-in. Vaporeon was added next to the team to give us a Water immunity against Rain teams and Volcanion's deadly Steam Eruption. It also can Wish and provide support to Vikavolt and the rest of the team. Hope you enjoy Swords Dance Venusaur in the Pokemon Showdown Sword and Shield OU tier! :)Team Importable: pokepast.es/29f80d59725aaff0I saw a suggestion some time ago about bringing a unique Venusaur set into the OU tier that wasn't your typical Chlorophyll user on a Sun team that everyone has already seen. Thus I took it upon myself to bring Swords Dance Venusaur with Adrenaline Orb due to the number of Landorus-T you see in the tier activating the item with Intimidate. Power Whip is my choice for the main STAB move since it's 120 power and extremely powerful, allowing you to OHKO or 2HKO many things after Swords Dance. Earthquake is great for Steel types like Heatran and Knock Off lets you hit Dragapult, Latios, etc and remove items from opposing Pokemon. I decided to pair Venusaur with Nasty Plot Tornadus-T because it can remove many unwanted Pokemon such as Corviknight, Ferrothorn, and much more. I gave it Wide Lens so it would have a greater chance of not missing it's terrible accuracy moves like Hurricane and Focus Blast. Then I added AV Reuniclus to pressure opposing Pokemon with incoming Future Sight as a way to deter safe switch-ins to both Venusaur and Tornadus-T. The AV with Regenerator allows for Reuniclus to check a wide variety of Special attackers and pivot with added HP regeneration. Calm Mind Tapu Fini is there to deter Weavile, Urshifu Rapid Strike, Buzzwole, etc and Landorus-T is my Ground type for Defog purposes. I chose not to add Stealth Rocks since I'm running Wide Lens on Torn-T over Heavy Duty Boots and prefer that hazards are not up at all. Instead, I added my signature Umbreon to make the team even more difficult to take down and provide Wish and cleric support with Heal Bell.
