R1 Totaled - Motor Go Boom TheAK47s 2016-01-09 | Yep... You read that correctly... Kinda. I didnt crash it or anything like that, but the motor is done. So its time to fix it, sell it, and be on to better things. Im gunna miss this bike. WHAT HAPPENED:I was just riding with my buddy, the usual super late night ride about 2 months ago or so, and half way through the ride the bike started making a little weird rattle noise. Couldn't pin point what the noise was or where it was coming from but it didn't sound right. (Ended up being the bearing) So from that point I said well... I have no other way of getting home so I gotta baby it home. And take the shortest route possible. So we took the toll road. About 3 minutes from my apartment, while doing 80mph in 6th, the bike started to violently shake like I was riding over a rumble strip on the shoulder, so I immediately pulled in the clutch and killed the bike and pulled over. Once that happened, (crank broke in half at that point) the engine was completely seized and wouldn't even think about turning over.
