What you'll need:
1 cup white rice (or Minute Rice)
1 3/4 cups chicken broth (or water)
1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
1 lb chicken thighs or breasts
salt, pepper, onion powder and garlic powder
If using regular rice, cook rice with chicken broth. Simply combine rice and broth in a small sauce pan, bring to a boil, lower heat, cover and cook for 20 minutes on lowest heat setting on your stove.
When done combine with can of soup and spice to your taste. I used 1 tsp seasoned salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp onion powder and 1/4 tsp garlic powder. Spread into bottom of 8x11 baking dish. Top with prepared chicken and bake at 400*F for 35-40 minutes or until chicken is done. Let rest 10 minutes and then serve. Serves 2-3.
If using Minute Rice, combine rice, broth, soup and spices to taste and add to an 8x11 baking dish. Continue as above.

What you'll need:
1 single pie crust (see how I make mine here: youtu.be/YLLtmzJgjT8 )
2 lbs fresh ripe strawberries (900g)
3/4 cup sugar (150g)
3/4 cup water (180ml)
1 tsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp cornstarch (or arrowroot, tapioca, potato starch, etc)
3 Tbsp water
whipped cream (see how I make stabilized whipped cream here: youtu.be/Zbh9rLHGq7E )
Preheat your oven to 450*F (230*C). Prepare your pie crust in a 9" pie tin or pie plate. Dock the crust with a fork and bake for 10-12 minutes or until just barely light brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Wash strawberries well. Drain and core them. Slice into quarters (or more pieces for larger berries). Put about 3/4lb into a medium saucepan on the stove. Add in sugar, 3/4 cup water and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly and breaking up the berries the entire time. When 3 minutes is up, remove from heat and strain into a measuring cup. You should have 12 ounces of juice (360ml or 1.5 cups). If not, add water to make 12 ounces. Pour back into your saucepan and bring to a boil. Add the cornstarch slurry and bring back to a boil. Cook for 15-30 seconds at most. Pour onto remaining strawberry pieces and toss to coat. Pour into cooled pie shell and refrigerate for 4-6 hours, or up to 24 hours. Top with whipped cream and serve. Enjoy!!

What you'll need:
1 cup long grain white rice
1/8 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 Tbsp tomato paste
1 3/4 cups water, divided
1 tsp Knorr caldo de pollo
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp corn oil
In a blender or food processor, puree tomato paste, onion and garlic with 1/4 cup water.
In a medium heavy bottomed saucepan, heat corn oil over medium-high heat. When it's hot, add rice. Cook, stirring constantly, until golden brown and smells toasty.
Add tomato paste puree to rice and cook, stirring constantly 1 minute.
Add in remaining 1 1/2 cups water, caldo de pollo and salt. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, cover, turn heat down to lowest possible setting and simmer 20 minutes. Do not lift lid!
When 20 minutes is up, turn heat off, lift lid to release excess steam and heat and recover. Let rest 10 more minutes.
When 10 minutes is up, fluff rice with a fork and serve.
Makes about 3 cups of authentic Mexican rice. Served 4-6. Enjoy!

What you'll need:
approx. 1 pound 41-60 size frozen shrimp with the shells on
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp seasoned salt (or use Old Bay Seasoning)
2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 quart vegetable oil (for frying)
cocktail sauce (see how I make it here: youtu.be/goNxQ1EZYKg)
Place shrimp into a large bowl filled with cold water to thaw. Separate shrimps so they thaw evenly. Let sit about 10 minutes.
In a small bowl combine flour with seasoned salt. Mix to combine.
In another small bowl, whisk eggs with 1 Tbsp water.
In yet another bowl, add panko breadcrumbs and season with an additional 1/4 tsp seasoned salt.
When shrimp are thawed, peel leaving the tail attached. Place into a colander to drain well.
To bread, coat shrimp in flour, then egg, then panko breadcrumbs. Set onto a plate. Continue with remaining shrimp.
To fry, heat oil in a heavy pan over medium-high heat to 350*F. Working in batches, fry for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes or until golden brown and done on the inside. Do not overcook! When golden brown, remove to a draining rack and let drain. Serve with cocktail sauce. Makes 40-60 shrimps. Enjoy!

What you'll need:
1 batch homemade pizza dough (see here: youtube.com/watch?v=GiSzVOTbpJQ )
1 cup cheddar cheese sauce
4 large eggs, scrambled
6 slices bacon, cooked and chopped

4 ounces (1 cup) shredded cheddar cheese
Bake at 450*F oven for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 1 (14") pizza. Serves 6-8. Enjoy!
You can also make this with sausage in place of the bacon. You can use cheese sauce or a sausage gravy as the sauce. Both are equally as good.

What you'll need:
1 cup (110 g) cake flour
1 1/4 cups (250 g) white granulated sugar, divided
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups (355ml) egg whites (about 10 eggs)
1 tsp cream of tartar (or tartaric acid)
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla extract
In a medium bowl, sift together flour, 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar and salt. Set aside.
In the bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl using an electric hand mixer, start beating egg whites. When frothy and approximately doubled in size, add in cream of tartar and lemon juice. Bet until soft peaks form. Gradually add in remaining 3/4 cup (150g) of sugar while beating on medium-high. When stiff peaks form, fold in vanilla extract. When mixed well, gently fold in sifted dry ingredients. When no more streaks of flour remain, transfer batter to an ungreased angel food cake or tube pan. Even the top and bake in a preheated 350*F (175*C) for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick or skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean.
Remove from oven and turn upside down and cool completely. When cool, run a knife around the edges of the pan and turn cake out onto a cake plate. Use a serrated knife to cut and serve. Enjoy!!

What you'll need:
2 lbs fresh strawberries
2 cups granulated sugar
1 Tbsp lemon juice
This recipe requires 2 lbs of strawberries which is approximately 4 1/2 cups of firmly packed chunked strawberries. You may use frozen berries if you wish but thaw them first. You can also use blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or any combination thereof.
Also, you cannot reduce the sugar in this recipe. It will not work. Since this is essentially a candy, it just doesn't work with less sugar.
If you wish to use a candy thermometer, you can do so. You will need to cook this to 220*F.

For one serving of hash browns:
1 (4-5 ounce or 110-140 grams) russet potato
2 Tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 Tbsp butter or margarine
Wash and peel the potato. Grate or shred on a box grater or food processor. Do so into a bowl of water to prevent oxidation. Drain and rinse until water runs clear. Spread shredded potato out onto paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. Pat dry and let air dry for 5-10 minutes. In a small frying pan, add oil and butter. Heat over medium-medium high heat. When butter solids start to brown, add shredded potatoes. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes without lifting the lid. When time is up, remove lid, season with salt and pepper and flip. Continue cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes. Makes 1 serving of hashbrowns. Enjoy!

Recipe:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp water
1 cup smooth peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
6 cups rice krispies (a.k.a 'crisp rice cereal')
2 cups milk chocolate chips (or chocolate of your choice)
Line an 8" x 8" baking dish (for thick treats) or a 9" x 13" (for thin treats) with foil. Grease foil with vegetable oil, butter or shortening. Set aside.
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine corn syrup, sugar and water. Stir constantly until the mixture JUST bubbles around the edges of the pan. Remove from heat immediately and stir in peanut butter, vanilla and salt.
Pour over cereal in a large bowl and fold gently to coat the cereal.
Transfer mixture to prepared baking pan and let cool.
While mixture is cooling, melt chocolate in a bowl over barely simmering water while stirring constantly until half way melted. Remove from heat and continue stirring until chocolate is smooth. (alternatively melt chocolate in microwave by nuking in 30 second intervals, stirring between each just until chocolate is melted. Continue stirring until smooth).
Pour melted chocolate over treats and spread out to a uniform layer. Let cool and cut into pieces. Makes 16-24 treats. Enjoy!

What you'll need:
1-2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped
1/2 pound 85/15 ground beef
1/2 pound mild Italian sausage, casings removed
8 'oven ready' lasagna noodles
1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 cup (7.5 oz) ricotta cheese
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
In a large skillet (12"), saute onions over medium-high heat in olive oil just until translucent. Add in beef and Italian sausage. Crumble and cook meat until browned well. Drain off fat. Add in lasagna noodles that have been broken into pieces. Pour on top: crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, cover and cook 10 minutes WITHOUT stirring! After 10 minutes, carefully remove lid and stir. Add in salt, sugar and garlic powder. Mix well and separate any noodles stuck together. Replace lid and cook an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. After the second 10 minutes is up, turn off heat, remove lid, stir well and again separate any stuck noodles. Sprinkle oregano over top and dollop spoonfuls of the ricotta cheese over top. Replace lid and let rest for 5 minutes. When the ricotta is melted, sprinkle the mozzarella on top and place under the broiler for 2-3 minutes just to melt and brown the cheese. Let rest again for a few minutes and serve. Serves 6 well. Enjoy!
**If you are using the NON-oven ready noodles (the ones you must cook first before making a traditional lasagna), keep the same amount of noodles, add an additional 1/2 cup water and another 5-10 minutes on the cooking time.

*Please note that these are guesstimated amounts based on online converters. I do not use weight measurements so I cannot guarantee the accuracy of these amounts. As always, I recommend anyone that uses weights to buy a set of American measuring tools to use for American recipes since there are so many variables in converting a recipe. They will pay for themselves in just one mis-converted and ruined recipe in wasted ingredients.

What you'll need:
16 ounce loaf of French bread (450g)
1/2 cup raisins (115g)
4 large eggs
1/4 cup granulated sugar (50g)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, melted (115g)
pinch of freshly ground nutmeg or 1/2 tsp store-bought
2 cups half and half (475ml)
1 cup whole milk (240ml)
Begin by soaking the raisins in a small bowl, just covered with boiling water. Set aside. **DRAIN BEFORE USING**
Tear bread into pieces and set aside.
In a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and butter. Whisk well to dissolve sugar. Add in nutmeg, half and half and milk. Whisk well to combine all ingredients. Add in bread pieces and toss to coat. Set aside for 30 minutes.
To layer the mix and raisins, put 1/3rd of the bread and custard mix into the bottom of an 8" x 8" baking dish (20cm x 20cm). Sprinkle with 1/3rd of the raisins. Repeat the layering twice more.
Bake pudding in a preheated 325*F (165*C) oven for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and center is just barely set. It should jiggle slightly. Remove from oven when done and let cool to room temp before transferring to the refrigerator to chill completely (at least 6-8 hours or preferably overnight).
For the sauce:
1 large egg
3/4 cup half and half (175ml)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (100g)
dash of cinnamon (1/4 tsp)
splash of vanilla extract (1/2 tsp)
pinch of freshly ground nutmeg (1/8 tsp)
splash of Jim Beam Bourbon (1 Tbsp)
In a small saucepan combine egg, half and half and sugar. Mix well. Add in cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and Jim Beam. Cook over low heat until simmering and sauce thickens while whisking constantly. Sauce may foam up but bubbles will subside when taken off heat. When it's done, sauce will coat the back of a spoon and will resemble a thin pudding in consistency.

2-3 Tbsp olive oil
1 small zucchini, chopped
1/2 cup green beans, fresh or frozen (75g)
1 small onion, chopped
1 medium carrot, grated
1 rib celery, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15.5oz can) light red kidney beans (439g)
1 (15.5oz can) great northern beans (439g)
1 (14.5oz can) stewed tomatoes (411g)
32 ounces vegetable broth (1.9L)
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano

3 cups water (700ml)
2 ounces spinach (2 cups fresh or 1/4 box frozen) (30g)
1/2 cup dried pasta (50g)
parmesan cheese (optional)
In a large dutch oven or soup pot, saute the zucchini, green beans, onion, carrot and celery over medium-high heat. When the onions become translucent, add garlic and saute another few minutes.
Add in kidney and great northern beans as well as the tomatoes, vegetable stock, seasonings and salt. Bring to a boil and turn heat down to low and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add in water, spinach and dry pasta. Again, bring to a boil and simmer for 10-20 minutes or until pasta is cooked to your liking. Serve with breadsticks and parmesan cheese.

**Click 'SHOW MORE' for recipe and tips**
What you'll need:
1 canned pineapple slice
1 maraschino cherry
2 Tbsp light brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose or plain flour
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
2 Tbsp pineapple juice (reserved from the can of pineapple slices)
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 Tbsp beaten egg
1/8 tsp vanilla extract
In a 12oz glass coffee mug, layer the brown sugar, pineapple slice and place a maraschino cherry in the center of the pineapple ring. In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining ingredients and pour on top of pineapple slice. Microwave on 50% power for 2 1/2 minutes. Let sit 30 seconds, run a knife around the outside of the cake and then turn out onto a plate. Scrape all the syrup from the bottom of the mug onto the cake. Makes 1 cake. Enjoy!!
Tips:
-you must use a mug at least 12oz in size. Any smaller and the cake batter will overflow all over your microwave. No it doesn't have to be clear but glass is best.
-use pineapple slices canned in pineapple juice. Do NOT use pineapple packed in heavy syrup. You need the juice to provide moisture for the cake to turn out light and moist.
-the extra egg can be stored covered in the fridge for 24 hours. Add it to your scrambled eggs the next morning, freeze it for later or cook it up and give it to your dog for a treat.
- see the instruction manual for your microwave to see how to do 50% power. All microwaves are different, hence why I didn't show how to do it. If you don't have the manual for your microwave, google is your friend.
-to lighten the calories you can reduce the brown sugar to 1 Tbsp and white sugar to 1 Tbsp. Any more and the cake doesn't turn out and you won't have a topping.
-total calories as made is 427.
-yes the recipe can be multiplied to make a full cake but the ingredient proportions are different for a full sized cake so it may or may not work out.
-and finally...no. You don't have to put a cherry on top. :-)

What you'll need:
A 20 oz. glass with a tight fitting lid
1 cup of crushed ice (8 regular ice cubes)
1 cup water
1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 large ripe strawberries
1/2 lemon
Start off by crushing your ice. Crushed ice helps to cool the drink faster, the smaller pieces will dilute the drink and make it less cloyingly sweet and it helps to dissolve the sugar faster. Clean you lemon and strawberries well. Core the strawberries and quarter the half lemon. Add to your glass along with the sugar, ice and water. Put the lid on securely and shake, shake, shake it up! Shake for a good 30-45 seconds to completely dissolve the sugar. Makes an 18oz drink. Enjoy!

What you'll need:
11-12 oz roll of crescent rolls
2 oz cream cheese
2 Tbsp granulated sugar, divided
assorted jams and preserves or pie filling (raspberry, cherry, strawberry, apricot, blueberry, lemon, etc)
1 Tbsp butter, melted
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp milk
Unroll the crescent rolls and separate into rectangles of dough using two triangles. Pinch closed the diagonal cut to form one solid sheet of dough. Sprinkle with sugar. Cut dough into approx. 1" x 8" strips of dough. Gently lift dough and twist opposite ends in opposing directions into a loose rope. Spiral the rope around itself to form a loose circle/spiral. Place onto a cookie sheet lined with a baking mat, spacing danishes about 2" apart. Press the centers with a finger to make a well for the filling.
For the cheese filling, combine cream cheese and 1 Tbsp sugar in a small bowl and mix well.
Spoon about 1 tsp of filling into the center of each danish. Bake at 375*F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
When done, brush with melted butter to keep danishes soft. Make an icing by combing the powdered sugar with the milk and drizzle over top of danishes. Serve warm. Makes approx. 12 (4") danish pastries. Enjoy!!

dash white pepper (or black)
1 Tbsp white wine
2 Tbsp cornstarch
3 large eggs
scallions or green onions
In a pot or pan, pour in chicken stock or broth. Add in salt, sugar, white pepper and white wine. In a separate bowl, combine cornstarch with 3-4 Tbsp water to make a slurry and add to chicken stock mixture. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. What you'll need:
6 flavors of Jell-O (cherry, orange, lemon, lime, berry blue and grape)
unflavored gelatine (Knox brand is recommended)
yogurt, sour cream, Cool-Whip or evaporated milk
whipping cream or whipped cream
vegetable oil
assorted measuring cups
whisk
measuring spoons
funnel or syringe
egg molds**
For each flavor of Jello, combine 2 Tbsp cool water with 1/4 tsp unflavored gelatine. Let dissolve slightly and add in a 3 oz pkg of Jello. Add in enough boiling water to make 1 1/4 cups. Whisk for 2-3 minutes or until all gelatin is dissolved. Pour 3/4 cup mixture into another measuring cup and set aside. To the remaining mix, add in enough sour cream, yogurt or Cool-Whip to make 3/4 cup. Whisk well and set aside. Let both mixtures cool before using. If using the Jell-O Jiggler molds, use 1 tsp for each layer. There will be a total of 11 layers (a clear and opaque layer for each color except grape which will be a double layer of clear). Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes between layers.
**If you want to use regular plastic eggs for molds and you need to determine the correct measurement for each layer, fill up the egg you wish to use with water. Pour into a measuring cup with markings and divide the total volume by 12. Example: if the egg mold holds 1/4 cup, each layer would be 1 tsp as there are 12 tsps in 1/4 cup. (1/4 cup = 4 Tbsp = 12 tsp). It may be best to find eggs that are this size since it's easy to measure. Some eggs are better suited for this than others.
ps: Since I didn't say in the video, this will make approximately 36 whole Jello eggs or 72 'deviled' Jello eggs.
pps: This is NOT a sponsored video! I just like Jello gelatin and I love their molds. I used vintage molds but they are still available on Amazon and eBay or even craigslist.

1/4 tsp each of salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin and paprika
4 oz Monterey Jack cheese
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese

What you'll need:
3/4 cup warm water (about 100*F)
2 Tbsp granulated sugar
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 cups all-purpose or plain flour
additional oil for greasing
In a large bowl, combine water and sugar and sprinkle yeast on top to re-hydrate. Don't use too hot of water or you will kill your yeast. After yeast is a bit foamy, add in salt, 1 Tbsp oil and flour. Mix well until it comes together to form a dough. Knead until smooth and all flour is incorporated and dough is no longer sticky, about 3 minutes. Grease a bowl with another tablespoon of oil, coat dough ball with oil and cover with a damp towel. Let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
To use, grease a pan with more oil, pat dough out using your finger tips to 14"-16" in diameter. Spread with sauce, top with cheese and toppings and bake in a preheated 450*F oven for 12-14 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melty. Makes (1) 16" pizza. Enjoy!!

2 cups all-purpose or plain flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup raisins
3/4 cup buttermilk (or 3/4 cup milk with 2 1/4 tsp white vinegar)
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon and set aside. In a large bowl, combine flour, white sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in raisins to coat and then mix in buttermilk. Mix just until dry ingredients are wet. Do not over mix.
Pat out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2" thick. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon mix over half of the dough. Fold the other half of the dough over top and again pat out to 1/2" thick. Fold dough in half again and pat out to 1" thick. Cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place 2-3" apart on a cookie sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper to prevent over browning on the bottoms. Bake in a preheated 400*F oven for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
For the icing:
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1.5 Tbsp milk

Original instructable can be found here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Chocolate-covered-strawberry-roses
SPECIAL NOTES:
-when choosing strawberries, make sure to include small, round and pointed berries. Skip the wide, flat ones.
-For the chocolate modeling clay, use 6 ounces BY WEIGHT and 2 TBSP of corn syrup to make the clay. Color the corn syrup, NOT THE CHOCOLATE! If you can't find or buy corn syrup where you are liquid glucose is nearly the same thing and is interchangeable. You will need one or the other to make this work.
-each recipe of clay will cover 3 roses. If you are doing a dozen roses, you'll need 4 recipes. Do each recipe separate as making large batches is difficult to get the corn syrup and chocolate combined well without it breaking.
-You can use white chocolate, almond bark, chocolate coating, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or Wilton Candy Melts.

What you'll need:
24 frozen or fresh beef ravioli
1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp water
oil for frying
marinara sauce (see recipe below)
shredded parmesan cheese
Thaw your ravioli before starting if using frozen. There is no need to cook before hand. In separate pie plates or bowls, add bread crumbs in one and combine eggs and water in another. Bread your ravioli by first submerging in the egg and letting the excess drip off and then dredging in the breadcrumb. Shake off excess and set aside. When all raviolis have been breaded, repeat the process to bread again. Set aside to dry for 15-20 minutes before frying.
To fry the breaded ravioli, bring vegetable oil to 350*F in a heavy pan over medium-high heat. Be sure to use a thermometer to get to the proper temperature. Fry in small batches until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Remove to a paper towel to drain and then transfer to a serving plate. Sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese and serve with marinara sauce.
For the marinara:
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
3/4 cup water
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a bubble over medium-high heat stirring constantly. Cook for 1-2 minutes and let cool slightly before using.
Makes 24 toasted ravioli. Enjoy!!
