Over 20 years ago, I popped into a studio in Miami with Ulises (Rescate’s lead vocalist) to record the original version of this song. We began a relationship that day that blossomed into a few tours together, (including some shows in Europe and America). At that time, his English was poor, and my Spanish was horrible, so we couldn’t speak with each other much without a translator. But we communicated on a different level musically and spiritually and remained friends until his untimely passing.

While we are deeply saddened after his homegoing, we are encouraged to know that Ulises is undoubtedly with the Lord, and his music and legacy continue.

And with the release of our interpretation of the song, it’s even more roots reggae than before! This revisiting of the original track we sang together over two decades ago is our homage and tribute to a legendary band, an incredibly gifted singer, songwriter, a great father, husband, and good friend.

We just so happened to release the single and start filming the music video when Argentina was dominating the finals of the World Cup in December 2022. A year later, we bring you the finished result thanks to some hard work by special effects artist Juan Martinez and Director Javier Del Cid.

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Isaiah 43:19)

A year ago, the Lord gave me a word for Christafari.

The word was “change”.

Since then, we’ve seen a lot of change. International travel has truly opened up.

Instead of doing 50 states in a year, we went from continent to continent. We’ve also seen some of our mission team members change over the last year. All in one way or another, having to do with relationships, whether starting a relationship, getting married, or being newlyweds that are expecting, or in Nikita and Kerron’s case have already delivered a precious baby girl. We’ve learned to embrace this change.

As Musicianaries, change is our constant. We are always moving from place to place, ministering the Good News of Jesus Christ. We’ve seen this in spades since last November as we’ve ministered in places like…
Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Belize, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Curacao, and the USA.

About a year ago, we felt the Lord calling us to do a tour of the Americas that would have us ministering in all 47 countries and territories in North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Thanks to your support, we’ve accomplished 30% of this goal. We’re almost 1/3 of the way there!

While we initially thought we would stay in the Western Hemisphere for a season, even that vision saw some changes as the Lord opened up opportunities for us to minister in places like Israel and Kenya.It’s been a whirlwind year, and to be honest, we are exhausted. But we’re not done yet. As you watch this, we are on our way to minister in Uruguay for the very first time. It is the most atheistic and secularized nation in South America. after that we’ll head down to preach the Gospel throughout Patagonia and Buenos Aires! In the new year, we’re excited to do more of the same as we edge closer and closer to the finish line of our million-soul goal.

Change is what we’re trying to bring about.

Change in people's hearts as we preach the Good News.

Change in the world as God has called us not to be changed by the world, but rather to be world changers.

But this change takes a lot of change to be made possible, if you know what I mean. Especially since every one of our concerts is free and open to the public. While they are at no cost to the attendees — because the Gospel should be given away freely—these events come at a significant cost to our supporters. We greatly appreciate your generosity in making this possible.

The fruit of your sacrifice and obedience to the Lord results in souls saved and lives forever changed. As William Cary said, “Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”Could you spare some more change? It will take much more than pocket change to see the change the Lord is leading us to bring.

These great things require an even greater sacrifice, which can be challenging given inflation and our current recession.

But amid all this economic change, three things remain constant: God, His great commission, and His invitation for you to be a part of it.Thanks to the help of a matching grant, your donation will go a lot further this time of the year and will be doubled up to $100,000.

CHRISTAFARI - Alpha and Omega (Official Music Video) 20 Nations in 1 year [Feat. Jah Pickney]

As we look back at what we’ve seen the Lord do over the last year, we are amazed at the sheer volume of concerts and number of decisions for Christ. It’s hard to believe that in just 12 months, we will have visited over 20 nations! God is so faithful!

Last November, we were in Guatemala. As we tested out the new songs from our Day of the Lord album with the audiences night after night, one song resonated with everyone (whether they spoke English or Spanish). It quickly became apparent that we needed to do a music video for Alpha and Omega, and we needed to do it fast! The concept was simple; the promoter had lent us a jeep for the tour, so we would drive it from show to show and feature Central America.

But then, when we got to Argentina, the song blew up as well, so we figured, why not include South America in the mix? And we couldn’t feature South America without highlighting Brazil and Bolivia. And then Israel… And then the Caribbean… And then North America, Africa, etc… You get the idea.

Much to the chagrin of our director, the video kept being extended. What was supposed to be a quick turnaround took a year to finish. And it sure was a challenge to encapsulate this wild year in just five minutes!

If it seems like a lot, that’s because it is! You may have to watch it a few times before it’s soaks in. There’s so much going on! That’s kind of how we’ve felt over the last year as we’ve been whipped through this roller coaster that is faith-based musicianary life.

On one flight while returning from Brazil, we shared the plane with the band Alice In Chains. I’ll never forget their bassist shouting to the rest of his band, “Hey, that’s Christafari; they travel harder than any other band in the world!”

I’m not sure if this is the case, but after watching this video, it sure feels like it. We truly are blessed to be able not just to travel and visit these incredible places, but to have such a great platform to preach the Gospel freely night after night, reaching as many as possible with the good news of Jesus Christ.

But it’s not about numbers. What really matters isn’t the amount of countries visited; it’s the individual souls being saved; it’s the angels in Heaven rejoicing over the repentance of even one sinner!

CHRISTAFARI - Madagascar Mission Trip Documentary

christafariband 2023-09-06 | Last September, when the pandemic was coming to an end and international travel was finally opening up, we wanted to visit a place that we had never visited before first. Madagascar was at the top of this list! Mauritius followed it in the Indian Ocean.

Interestingly, you can’t get any further from Los Angeles, California, than Madagascar.

Now, almost a year later, we are currently ministering in Nairobi, Kenya, for two weeks after visiting 19 countries in the last 11 months.

In this video, you get a unique behind-the-scenes work into Christafari's first Madagascar trip. We saw thousands of lives impacted by Christ and gave away hand-sewn clothes to the children of local villages. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful country soon!
