With the release of hifisampler, I decided to re-upload this cover! Hifisampler is amazing! I never thought my old fossil of a CV bank could ever sound this clear! (It's finally on par with what most UTAUs sound like, which is a big deal for this bank considering how crunchy it usually sounds.)

I was going to do a little more to this cover, but then my computer sharted itself and I lost all the USTs and mixing files (but still had the mp3), so ... I'm posting it as is. TwT I think it's still in a postable condition... anyway.

At the beginning of this year, I decided to begin the difficult and tedious task of updating my now 12-year-old UTAU with a VCV voicebank while maintaining consistency to the original dust and crusty 12-year-old CV version...as much as possible, anyway. (I never thought I'd ever do this EVER, so I'm stunned I made it this far.)

This was a test cover I did after creating an operable VCV bank back in January 2024, but never uploaded it at that time... I think the result is fairly consistent to the old CV! The robotic quality was also successfully maintained, since my goal wasn't necessarily to make him more "realistic," but rather maintain some of the original fax-machine-crunch sound and just improve on flow and pronunciation.

So yeah, pros:
Better flow
Better pronunciation
Better vocal consistency

That being said, I still really like the original CV version... just will always hold a special place in my heart............

I do want to add a few more recordings to this VCV bank and then hopefully release it by August 2024... but as of right now, the original CV bank is still for download. (I guess if I made it this far, I'll probably try to give him soft/power banks as well, but that's a different project for a different time...)

If you listened at all to my little utau, thank you ... m(＿＿)m It means a lot.

On an old external harddrive, I had found my recording attempts from the first UTAU I ever made. (He was recorded in 2012.)
2012 lives on in 2022!!!

I'm kind of shy about him. But with some prodding from my friends, I ended up working on his files again for a "release". If you want him, the download will be at the bottom of this description.
His name is Moku Gekine (撃音モク), and he is a monopitch CV UTAU.

first off:

This song is a change of pace, isn't it? Not the usual genre I upload, but I hope you can enjoy it nonetheless.
Actually, I've been practicing with KAITOV3 English a lot lately. In the past, I never uploaded anything I made with him that much, but now I think I will start doing it more often. (I'm feeling a bit nervous to post one now!)

My good friend Jam-chan worked on the art in the video for me. Something I'd like to note is that in other versions of this song, the crown is referred to as "crown of thorns" which is why she chose to draw him with a thorn crown. She worked hard on the drawing and was very shy about it, but she's very eager to have people see the final result, I think!

I actually began on working on this cover a couple months ago, but unfortunately some things in my life took a turn for the worse, and I've had to go through a lot of changes recently. But finally I was able to sit down and finish it. (As well as other upcoming projects!)
I used the Vocaloid3 engine for this VSQx, but I got Vocaloid4 for my birthday, which was on September 1st. (I also got Kagamine Rin/Len V4x, woohoo!) I'm not so used to all functions of V4 editor and banks quite yet, but I'll be trying to use V4 from now on.

I spontaneously made this cover in the midst of my other planned projects.
Pinocchio-P songs always take me a very long time to tune because the lyrics never seem to repeat, so there isn't really much I can copy and paste. His songs are very tedious for me, that's for sure.
But I'm persistent! I wanted to cover this song for a while now, but I couldn't ever find a UST or VSQx to download, so I finally made one myself. I'll provide the download for it below. They are all untuned versions, so there might be work since UST was converted straight from VSQs. There's info about them in the "read me" file.

I used ACT2, simply because I asked on Twitter: Should I use ACT1 or 2? Somebody said ACT2. That's really all that affected my decision here.
I'm more used to using ACT1 I guess so it's really different feeling to me when I hear ACT2, and I tend to complain a lot while I'm tuning, but then I'm really satisfied when I start mixing the voice.
ACT2 Len is interesting to me despite me rarely using him. (One day I'll get V4x... OTL )
(I realized the other day, I don't think I've ever once used Rin ACT2, which is kind of funny to me. I always go for ACT1. At least Len gets some attention)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this cover with some old school Len!

finally able to upload this. This cover was completed right after my Meiko Dappou Rock cover I believe. (So, a couple months ago.) I had worked on and off on editing the VSQx over a span of many months... but i feel like I got her vocal tuning to be turned up enough

it is very long overdue. My friend Noro requested me to cover this song like, 2 years ago or something. And they would draw the picture for the video. we took this long. _(:'3 JL)_ We are incredible.

But one day, I finally completed the cover, and they delivered the drawing as promised, and video production was started immediately. (I'm almost glad we waited, because I think the result is worth it.)

Anyway, after this, I might take interest in the other covers that I wanted to do (something with VY2), and maybe old cover re-vamps! Redoing old covers with new things that I have learned thus far... ( ´ ▽ ` )

Hello, back sooner than I thought to post this cover!

Things have been kinda hectic for me for a second here, but I really sat down to finish this despite it. (injured myself at my job ୧(´×ω×`)୨ pain! )

Piko's male range as promised! I wanted to use it. I really like this song a lot since I first heard it, so on spur of the moment it made it really to the top of the list on "THINGS TO FINISH!!!!" (Cause I have so many WIPs...)

I was really excited to upload this. (If you suffer by following me on Twitter, maybe you saw that.)
A lot of people had been asking me for a long time to make a new Piko cover, and I decided to deliver best I could. I was really happy with the result of the cover, and I decided that I wouldn't use the original video. But the video ended up coming out way better than I had really hoped, the project turned into something much bigger than I thought it would. So I ended up getting really excited for it too, myself.
So I hope you all like the result too and enjoy it. It's very much a Piko-appreciation video.

I really liked the song 39Music! when it first came out and really wanted to cover it with Piko, but as usual, it takes me quite a long time to get around to actually doing it. I still hope you also enjoy this song.

Back with another cover so soon? Yes, very unheard of me.
And one more may be coming up even sooner.

Anyway, this is a song that I used to listen to a lot when I was a kid, I liked it a whole bunch, and now years later, I'm doing a Vocaloid cover of it.

Rin's voice was able to be made a lot smoother by adding some super secret vowels to fix some of ACT1's choppiness, but Len... Len didn't read them in the same way, and he got worse, so we had to undo those vowel 'fixes' and leave him in his natural state. I was only to make very minor things smoother for him.

In the beginning it was going to be Rin only, but I think adding Len really helped. Though he's choppy, his voice has a lot of energy.

I'm sorry I didn't have energy to sub the video in English, but I made add Youtube captions later!
I have to get started on something else to upload later... (・`ω´・)

It's been a while since I posted, but maybe for good reason!

I worked a really long time on this cover so I hope you like it

If you wanna know a little about this cover, all the V3 banks were used at some point in the song, not just solo English! Some crossfading was done to blend some other VBs with the English VB (like a false x-synthesis?) where the vowels sounded similar enough, in order to achieve more power here and there.

This VSQx I'm not sure yet I'll hand out, it's kind of sloppy, and if I did, I would wanna clean it up a little bit.

(I feel like I had a lot more to say, but now when the time comes to uploading, I forget everything)

Thank you for all the really nice welcoming comments on my last recent upload, I was really happy to read them, and really surprised

I have been really really busy lately with lots of things happening very suddenly, but I managed to have time to make a cover in between that stuff.

So I hope you will enjoy it

I downloaded Kanon's VSQx, which was really awesome and nice!
I kept most of the original tuning they worked on, but also
I did a lot of editing throughout the entire track to tighten up some spots for Meiko, to add more power/feelings. and I worked on changing some things around so I could put in the variables I wanted on her voice configurations. Also re-made some minor parts for some background vocals into VocaMIDIs for Vocaloid1 MEIKO, just for some effect.
Lead vocals are MEIKOV3 Power & Straight. Dark also has it's own part, and V1 is mostly used for a few back-ups.

I'll also try to work on adding in some english subtitles later on.

This cover was actually completed at the same time as Rin's Dan Dan Hayaku Naru, but it was a matter of preparing the video that took time.

A video appropriately heavily inspired by the original.

Before I forget to mention, I want to say that the cow in space is a reference to that "Hey Diddle Diddle" poem.
There's also some other cameos in the video. Do you know them all, I wonder? (Though it isn't much of a challenge..www)

Voca-wise...
I opted to use ACT2 this time, because I thought, "Well I have it, so better make use of it." That reason and, ACT1 perhaps may come off too powerful in the end without proper editing, so ACT2 seemed a bit easier to use for it.
It's my first time using Len's ACT2 by itself, too. (Used it before, but always with ACT1.)

It was an odd experience. I will try to practice with him more in the future. Maybe.

Editing the bow in the video really gave me a lot of grief.
It was on-time in the video program, but when exported, it starts bouncing up and down on her head like a basketball, falling off-timing a lot www.
Eventually I screenrecorded the preview window from the actual program and used that video wwwww. So the quality became a little low, but it is better than basketball bow.

I really wanted to cover this along with Dan Dan Takaku Naru (Len cover ver.), but I didn't find a VSQ file anywhere, so I made one myself.

I decided to finally release a VSQx and a Vocaloid MIDI.
But they're untuned versions. (In the past, I considered releasing Voca-MIDIs / VSQxs, but my own created files are often sloppy/a little unorganized. But I took the time to make this one right for distribution.)

Anyway, there is a read me.txt in the file which explains about the VSQx.

I really like Rin ACT1. For the Kagamines, I'm not really a fan of ACT2 at all. (Well, Len at least.) But I believe ACT2 can made to be sound great, but vocal-wise I am biased to ACT1.
(And well, I don't have Kagamine Appends...)

First, I wanna say thanks to people who leave me comments as of late. It makes me really happy to read them all, I become really bashful. So thank you! I am glad to speak with people here when I can, and make friends. (/ω＼*) It makes me feel glad, as if I'm doing a decent job, and it makes me want to improve to get better, since this is only a hobby for me...

This has been done for a couple days already, but I'm uploading it now!

Here, I wanted to try to find a song to use all of MEIKO's currently released VBs up to this point. This song was a pretty good candidate, though EnglishV3 and DarkV3 get a little neglected. I tried to fit them in appropriately, while still using a VB suited for each part.
Because of this, there are labels when each VB sings - the label appears momentarily above MEIKO's head in the corner.
These labels, I would like to note when it says "V1 + Dark," Dark takes the place of "tick tock", while V1 takes the lead. (Though I believe the difference is very obvious, it is worthy to say in case the "tick tock" goes unnoticed.)
As well when it says "Whisper + Dark," Dark here is just the backing harmony.

I spent a lot of time tuning and organizing the vocals. It was a little sloppy at first, but I continuously went back to repair parts, so I'm finally happy with the result.

finally, I'd like to add that in the beginning cover-credits in the video, it says the programs used are V1 and V3. It is there for the sake that even though V4 has been released, I do not yet have it, so it's still on V3. (sad noise!!)
I thought it would be good to clarify that it's all of her released VBs, but also clarify which program was used to tune her, etc. (For those that really like to hear the differences of the voices.)

It was an quick and easy song to cover in a time limit.
That popular Len version by Kanon, I couldn't find their VSQ. (I really wanted to see it!) It seems lost in the depths of time now.

But in the end, it's not so hard to make, so I ended up making my own MIDI for it. I got a different karaoke and inserted KAITO for the male part. This version is kind of calming, I think.

Sooooo......... how about that Engrish?

I did consider using V3 English for both of them, but in the end, I went with the weird-Engrish-V1 route. I think I like MEIKO V1's tone a lot more sometimes as well. (Or maybe I'm just clingy to her at this point....) Though I usually don't do cross-language things like this. I think it's my first one. (Or at least, first upload of one.)

On a side note, I wanted to mention the lyrics: In this version, it says "you make me dance" - whether or not its the actual word, I dunno. Many lyric sites say "you make me this", but I don't really understand that meaning (is it like "you make me this way"?), so I went with "dance" for the sake of my brain. The other one was "playing sweet" versus "play it sweet." I went with "play it sweet", thinking it might be reference to the saxophone? While "playing sweet" could be reference to emotions. (Anyway though, this is just pointless side babble, but I thought I would mention it!)

A friend requested me to cover this song because I listened to it so often. They wanted me to use Len, and so I used Act1. (I only have Act 1 & 2, so I usually prefer Act1.)

Act1 however, is a bit choppy, so I did use some things to try to get around it. I enjoy the power he offers.

I tuned Len using the V3 editor, so here are some notes:
-「おいで」 / "Oide" became 「おうぃで」 / "Owide" due to Act1 not being able to flow properly from o → i.
I figured making him say "owide" was not big enough of a difference in pronunciation to affect anything.

-There was a "Growl" type attempt at about 0:54, when he begins "da". V3 doesn't have Growl feature, and I don't believe that Act1 is even compatible with it anyway. However, it was attempted with the BRE feature. But, I think it is subtle.

-On "Kanbina", two "n" notes were needed for him to pronounce smoothly. So, ka n - n bi na.

Anyway, that is all!

I could do one last upload before school started. This only took me a couple days to complete.
School starts tomorrow for me now, so I anticipate I'll be on a long hiatus again.

This was my first time using MEIKOV3 Power/Straight. I think the tone is a lot different from her V1 (at least, the way I tuned her V1, which I'm more accustomed to). What do you think? I rather like MEIKOV3, but it is a lot different for me.

Anyway, I am contemplating releasing the VSQx for this if there's enough interest.
