As of the date of this upload, the preserve is loaded with Deer. You are advised to bring tick repellent. Gnats are common around the lower park of the main pond.
Most trails are very well marked. The land is basically flat with few hills. Horseback riding is present in the preserve.
A take-off / landing path goes directly over the preserve.

Camp Hero, or the Montauk Air Force Station, was originally a coastal defense station disguised as a fishing village. Its location was chosen to prevent a potential invasion of New York from the sea.
Three gun batteries were built at Camp Hero. Two 16-inch guns, Batteries 112 & 113 (Battery Dunn).There were also two 6-inch guns Battery 216. All three batteries consisted mainly of a large concrete bunker covered with earth, containing ammunition magazines and fire control equipment. The 16-inch guns were protected by large casemates, the 6-inch guns by shields.

Montauk Light was the first lighthouse built in New York State. It is fourth-oldest active lighthouse in the United States. The tower is 110'6" high. The current light is the equivalent of +/- 290,000 candle power. It flashes every 5 seconds and is visible at a distance of +/- 17 nautical miles.

Access to rim trail can be strenuous as you must climb along established steep trails several hundred feet. Rim trails are mostly compacted dirt while the gorge trail is mostly stone paths.

This 150,000 square feet museum featuring 75 aircraft and spacecraft. Long Island has been important to the aviation industry from before the time when Lindbergh took off from Long Island to complete his non-stop flight to Europe up to the Apollo missions. This museum features an actual Apollo Lunar Module. The Lunar modules were developed, designed and build on Long Island.
Long Island has at various times been home to some of the most important defense and aerospace organizations ever conceived. Many aircraft have been developed here to keep the United States safe in both War and in Peace.
The museum features eight exhibit galleries chronologically arranged to document aviation history and the importance of Long Island to this industry.

A 36-acre botanical garden located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, situated alongside the Rio Grande River. You will find here plants of the Southwest and other arid climates, formal themed gardens, and a demonstration garden. There is a 10,000-square-foot conservatory. One wing of the glass conservatory houses plants native to the Mediterranean climates zones of Spain, Portugal, Turkey, South

The National Monument is found on the Pajarito Plateau of north-central New Mexico.
The tent rock formations occurred 6 to 7 million years and are the result of volcanic eruption which occurred at that time.
Cave Loop Trail is 1.2 miles long and is an easy hike. Canyon Trail is a 1.5-mile, one-way trek into a narrow canyon ending in a steep (630-ft) climb to the top of the mesa where you find outstanding views of the Sangre de Cristo, Jemez, Sandia mountains and the Rio Grande Valley.
You are advised to have water for each member of your party. The visitor area is primitive. Park Staff diligently remove hikers from the mesa before the close of the park each day.

Vermont is arguably one of the most beautiful states in the U.S.. It has four distinct seasons, has an ample supply of water year round and has many relatively undeveloped areas in close proximity to developed areas. Mountains and Forest abound across the state. The state has a strong entrepreneurial bent and is relatively progressive and yet also traditional.
That having been said, Vermont does a poor job marking many of the places featured in this video. Trailhead generally have little or no signage and trails are more often than not are unmarked. Not a great idea if you are trying to attract tourists to your state, just saying....
Featured in this video are but six of the great many waterfalls to visit when in Vermont. Many of these falls are impressive and readily accessible.
The hike to Lye Brook Falls is challenging and a fair distance from the parking area. Water and comfortable hiking shoes are advised.
Hamilton Falls are very nice. However, as shown in this video many have died on these falls. Please exercise exceptional caution when visiting.
Finally, Buttermilk Falls is beautiful. But these falls are regrettably often infested with New Yorker's. On the day this was recorded, the falls were being hogged by one particularly obnoxious group of underage drinkers going out of their way to make all other visitors uncomfortable. They were a typical group of Massapequa, Long Island douche bags. A group who came up in mommy & daddy's car, to use mommy & daddy's car vacation home, the very flower of youth being produced on Long Island these days. Just a bunch of spoiled little vermin who believe they're entitled to everything. Karma is going to be their frequent visitor in life.

Been visiting this zoo for nearly 60 years. I'm saddened by its current condition. The grounds are in disrepair. It seems as if every new visit costs much more and returns much less. This zoo appears to have switched focus and has created too many costly add-on experiences. This zoo was originally founded as a zoo for the common people. A beautiful place away from the squalor of NYC, to enlighten and educate those lesser means. These added costs can't be readily absorbed by most folks living in the region. The zoo seems now more interested in being a destination than being a first class zoo.
Given the fine weather present on the day of this visit, there where relatively few animals present. They are also constantly grubbing for money for their "conservation" programs. Even after having spent $40 to enter alone, there where still parts of the zoo to which further cost was required. It could literally cost a family of four well over $100 to visit for just one day. Then there is the cost of parking if you must drive ( $17 ).
While I have no doubt the zoo does provide significant discount to NYC students, that doesn't really much help everyone else. There is a free admission day as well, but exhibits may be less accessible on those days. You best enjoy this place while you can. At the pace this zoo is going it may well be very unaffordable in the not too distant future.
This is rapidly becoming yet another destination for those with the means to pay, to the detriment of those who do most of the living and breathing in NYC, but who have no money. One more once prominent gem of the city that has been tarnished by greed and stupidity.
Maybe they need to scale back the "conservation" effort, stop taking up valuable space with "experiences", pay their executive staff a bit less and get back to trying to be the best zoo in the world. Just sayin'.
