sockfolderThis is a new setup for the superslide teleport method to enter water temple after Serenade. Unlike before, there are many frames to release R so ISG is not required.
Angle so the left side of the B button is approximately aligned with the left side of the platform. The angle isn't precise. Drop a bomb at the appropriate spot near the bush, superslide, then release R to teleport as soon as you see Link going off the slope.
The setup for bomb position shown in the video is not required, but I know everyone will do it because that is the 'IN' thing for OoT. You can get ISG before doing the superslide if you are bad at timing releasing R.

To describe it "simply": Get into a precise position and fire off a chu that returns to where you're standing, then get into a different position and fire off another precise chu that will explode near Jabu-Jabu's loading zone. Get a HESS off the first chu in a specific way, and start hoversliding, changing angle mid hoverslide and rolling. Arrive at the clipping spot EXACTLY when the second chu is exploding and megaflip (during the hover) off that second chu, clipping into the ice and hitting the Jabu-Jabu loading zone.
Nothing to it.
This trick is officially nicknamed the "Soltov Slide", though I won't fault you for calling it "Soltov on the Rocks". This current setup is pretty much the best possible with this strategy, taking only 8 frame precise pause buffers. Here is how you do it.
1) Get into the initial position as shown. You can align to a pillar instead of using the angle from entering the zone, and can backflip roll instead of backwalk roll if you prefer. When you jump down to the 'Rock', you have to wait a bit for the roll or the camera will be messed up.
2) Pull out a chu. Pause buffer to the frame after the brightest frame (the first frame the flash gets dimmer). Shield-drop the chu and backflip on that frame (that is, down+Z+R+A).
3) During the backflip, buffer to the first frame you can see the top of Link's shield and pull out a chu on that frame.
4) Shield drop the chu when the chu is almost blue for the first time. This does not require buffering. The last working frame is when the chu is totally blue. Frame Window: 8
5) Do the little setup I do in the video. You can Z target whenever you wish, but leaving Z unpressed for a while lets you see the chu and time the next buffer. The following pause buffer cue will work regardless.
6) Pause buffer to when the chu is in line with the second plank of the wooden fence and roll. After you roll, hold LEFT ess position. I pause buffer the ess for convenience.
7) Buffer to the first frame Link is standing up in the explosion. This is the standard HESS frame. On this frame, hold LEFT ess, Z+R, and you will get a HESS.
8) Advance to the first frame Link moves backwards. Link's left arm will be slightly outside the explosion. Now the hover starts. Equip hover boots. Release Z+R, hold left and advance exactly one frame. If Link is facing left with his arm out, you hit the right frame.
9) Hold down from this point. Pause buffer to the frame where the right side of the Rock passes right through the middle of the B button. (This is 4 frames from the previous).
10) Hold left and roll from the previous frame. Hold Z+R at some point during the start of the roll (8 frame window). You don't have to hold left after the roll starts (doesn't matter). Almost there.
11) Pause on the first frame the pillar appears on the screen. There isn't much of a timing cue, other than maybe the arrow on the minimap. Backflip on this frame (Z+R+A+down). Advance 1-3 frames and switch back to regular Kokiri boots.
12) Welcome to Ocarina of Time!Enter Jabu Jabu as Adultsockfolder2013-10-11 | This is a new setup for entering Jabu Jabu as adult Link (on original Ocarina of Time where it isn't trivial). The style is much different from previous setups (that I know of), in that you keep the same angle for the whole trick. It also uses less chus and angle shenanigans. There is probably a better way with the same general idea, but this setup is sufficient.
Steps: 1) Get ISG and get in the corner I do in the video. Try not to take forever like I do. 2) Do the backflip/sidehop/siderolls I do to get in position, then walk directly forward. You will lock onto the edge due to ISG. 3) Pull out a chu and pause buffer to the first fast flash (9th flash). Sidehop shield to the right and hold shield. (Z+R+A+right). It is possible to use a bomb as well but the cue isn't as clear (2nd red frame of 2nd fast flash iirc). 4) Aim the joystick to the upper right so Link is walking facing diagonally. The aiming should be near the edge where Link will be sidewalking. There is a very small range RIGHT at this edge where the chu behaves differently for some reason, but there is about a 10degree range where the chu will work correctly. 5) Pull out a chu and pause buffer until the black frame immediately after the 8th flash (when it starts flashing quickly). At this frame, press and hold R, and hold right (holding right is for a cue on step 6). Note: You can aim while waiting for the chu as I do in the video. 6) After dropping the chu, pause buffer advance four frames. At this frame, Link has just started shifting right. One visual for this is you can barely see a bit of shield on the left side of Link, but just look at the video. On this frame, release the analog stick and press A to roll. 7) Advance a fair number of frame to the end of the roll. You want the second explosion frame, which is when the explosion is just of moderate size (see video). On this frame, hold shield if you aren't already, and sidehop left (R+A+left). Hold until you clip. 8) If you did everything right, you should be in Jabu Jabu.
Also, note if you want to beat Jabu Jabu, you will need boomerang on B, which means you need the Megaton Hammer to get ISG.Ultimate B1 Skip Setupsockfolder2013-08-06 | To start with, I don't really feel this is viable due to its difficulty, but it does show this trick is possible real time. Basically this is trick is breaking the web from the vines, then getting the antigrav jumpslash to skip the Deku Tree B1. This trick requires 2 frame perfect jumpslashes and an annoying initial position. Good luck.
Part 1: Initial position. Get on the check as normal. Aim to the vines and hold Z. Run off and hold a bit right of up. If you do it right/with luck, you will grab where I show on the video. Basically, the right foot should be on the seam. Climb up. Your left foot should be off the edge of the vines.
Tap Z to reset Link's facing to be towards the vines.
Part 2: Skulltula Manipulation Get just above the skulltula and slightly left of its center. Once you have its attention, climb up 4 steps so it will chase you. Then go back down 1 step. This is where you want to drop from. Wait until the skulltula reaches its base position.
Part 3: Jumpslash Bonanza Hold Z+A+R+Down. You will release the vines with your shield out and eventually hit the skulltula with your shield. About this time, release Z+A+R+Down. (Note: A can be released anytime.) A short time later, press B for a jumpslash. (ONE FRAME WINDOW!). Make sure you don't hold down during the jumpslash.
After you hit the web and hopefully breaking it (depends a lot on initial position), start tapping Z. There is a 4 frame window where Link will retarget the wall and change his angle. At about/before the 4th note, press B for jumpslash #2. (ONE FRAME WINDOW). If you do it right, you will get an antigravity to skip B1.Improved Child Void Warp Setupsockfolder2013-06-24 | This is an improved version of my previous setup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWYOcVEjX20 It is in the same style but has a clearer cue with a large (4 frame) window.
At the start, I show how you can c-up and look straight up to manipulate the boulders to spawn close to you. To be honest, I find this method harder than using the shadows, but it might be better with practice.
NOTE: YOU MUST USE HOLD FOR THIS SETUP!
1) HESS off a boulder, preferably with a right ESS position. 2) Slide into the first corner, switch to right ESS if not already there, and quickly untarget and retarget Zelda to slide into the left corner. (It is possible to skip this step). 3) Switch to a left ESS. This is possible though more difficult to do without pausing. 4) Wait briefly, then quickly release and hit Z (1 frame gap). It is possible to pause buffer this to be more consistent. If you don't retarget Zelda, you did it too fast. If you slide faster than I do in the video, you did it too slow. 5) After the Z-target reticle turns a bit more than 90degrees (4 frame window as show at end of video), pause. Release Z and switch to a right ESS. 6) Unpause, and hopefully you clip.
The end of the video shows the 4 frames you can release Z on (and switch ESS simultaneously). Depending on the camera angle, your ESS can break when trying to clip (i.e. Link faces directly right when your ESS position is directly right). For this reason, down-right ESS may be more reliable, but don't hold too far down.Void Warp Setup as Child (For Any%)sockfolder2013-06-24 | This video shows a setup to do the void warp to skip the castle escape as child in real time. This is much more complicated than the adult setup due to lack of explosives. Fortunately it doesn't require too much rock, but a lot of skill. Hopefully, an improved setup will be found in the future, but this is the first setup to do this trick in any% in real time.
1) Position yourself somewhere around where I stand in the video. Wait for a rock and roll into it, holding ess position. This requires practice. NOTE: Your angle will change based on where the rock hits you. Make sure your angle doesn't send you off the stage or into Zelda.
2) On the first frame Link is standing up, press Z+R (with ess) to get a hess off the rock. You need to slide into the corner facing Zelda.
3) Hold a left ess in the corner if you are not already. Then quickly release and hit Z to retarget Zelda. Wait a slight amount to get solidly in the corner.
4) Pause and switch to a right ess (or down right depending on your camera angle). Release Z and buffer exactly one frame.
5) Keep holding right ess and press Z on the unpause. You should start sliding past Zelda.
6) Shortly after the slide starts to slow down, pause again. Pause buffer to the frame shown in the video, cue'ing using the z target reticle (you get a brief glimpse each pause). See the end of the video for screenshots. Note: Other cues are not possible because the camera angle depends on the hess.
7) On the correct frame, release Z, still holding right/down-right ess. If you do it right, you should clip and get a void warp. Make sure you aren't holding too far down or your speed after the clip is immediately set to 0.
At the end: The first screenshot is one frame early. The second is the correct frame. The third is one frame late.
Sadly, it is difficult to identify the correct frame.Ganons Castle Void Warp as Adultsockfolder2013-06-18 | This is a setup to perform the void warp during the escape of Ganon's castle. This tricks saves about 2 minutes. You enter a loading zone exactly when you zone out, which causes the game to place you at the wrong coordinates in the interior of Ganon's castle. As a result, you skip practically the entire escape.
UPDATE: Step 3 is not required. Simply hold Z+A+R on the frame for Step 2. One less pause buffer is required with this method.
Steps: 1) Position as in the video. On the last sidehop, pull a bomb immediately after sidehopping and Link will automatically drop it. 2) Buffer to the second explosion frame. You can distinguish this frame either by the explosion ring, or by the fact that the explosion's top hits about the midpoint of the top of the railing. On this frame, hold Z+A. (Claw grip may be required to hit pause). 3) Advance 1 frame (third explosion frame). On this frame, hold Z+R and keeping holding it. (A is released). 4) Buffer several frames until the explosion just hits the B button. On this frame, release everything and just press B.
If you did it right, you will fall into the loading zone.
After you get the warp, hold just down of straight right and jumpslash fairly soon. You should hit the invisible curved hallway. Just follow the path out to finish the escape.Deku To Shadow Boss Room Wrong Warpsockfolder2013-02-26 | This shows a setup for the warp from Deku Tree to the Shadow Temple boss room as adult Link. First, in order to do this wrong warp, you must do the following: 1) Trade for an adult trade item with a timer. Then, dupe a bottle over the trade item in your inventory. This causes the game to reload the room Link is in currently when the timer expires. 2) Activate the Deku Tree intro cutscene in advance. 3) The previous cutscene that you have watched should be the warp from playing the Minuet. However, on 1.0, this only works if you have beaten the Forest Temple. Other cutscenes may be possible.
To do the setup, follow these steps: 1) Kill Gohma is one cycle so the warp is in the right spot. 2) Catch a fish in a bottle. Run to the pillar I do and align at the right spot of the texture. 3) Sidehop right twice, side roll, neutral roll, backflip, side roll, and then OI. 4) After the camera zooms out, hold right, then press B to start moving. Fairly quickly after that (4+ frames later), hold Z. Keep holding right. This is a 5 frame window. You should press Z about when the timer shows up again. 5) After reaching the wall, run to the corner shown and align. 6) Two setups here: Hold Z and B, then immediately R to vertical slash and shield. The timing on R is loose. Alternatively, do a forward stab (Z, forward and B) and immediately release forward. 7) Sidehop left twice and wait out the timer.231 Skip - HESS stylesockfolder2013-01-28 | This shows a new method to do the 231 Skip (skipping straight into the boss room of the deku tree) using a HESS (hyper-extended superslide) as adult Link. The advantage is that the cool but difficult jumpslash out of bounds part is removed. The downside is a HESS is more difficult to do than a superslide and involves holding ESS position for extended periods of time.
Setup the angle as shown. As with the original trick, the angle is very precise. In the future, an improvement angle setup will likely be found. Stay tuned.
1) Perform a HESS. You need to roll on either the small red or big blue frames right before the bomb explodes. Hold ESS position (very slightly left on the joystick) after the roll. Buffer until the first frame Link is standing in the explosion (second frame he is hit) and hold Z+R. 2) Get in the corner and equip hoverboots. Don't forget to keep holding ESS position and Z. 3) This part is a little tricky. You have to release Z for 2 frames, then press Z for 2-3 frames (preferably 3), then release Z again. This realigns your angle for just long enough to clip, but not so long that Z gets 'locked' while OoB. It feels like a pretty fast and natural tap of Z if you do it correctly. 4a) If you did 3rd frame Z, buffer to the frame Link's head is just below the ground (see first part of video). You can tell it is 3rd frame because the entrance is still visible. Now, release ESS position and hold Z. 4b) If you did 2nd frame Z, buffer to the frame Link's head is just above the ground (see second part of video). Note that the entrance is not visible. Hold Z on this frame. In this case, it is more difficult to perform the trick. I recommend holding ESS position for a few more frames (which keeps up your speed). 5) Backflip towards the end of your hover. This is fairly lenient especially in the (4a) case. 6) About when you see the vines, unequip hoverboots. If you did this right, you should reach the boss room. If you hit the ground, you didn't get far enough.
Hopefully you like this new cool way to do the 231 skip.Child Chu HESS Setupsockfolder2013-01-18 | This shows a setup to get a HESS (hyper-extended superslide) as child using a chu. Unfortunately, it requires two frame precise actions, so pause buffering is basically required.
Steps: 1) Pull chu and hold Z. 2) Buffer to the black frame after the 10th flash (2 flashes after it starts going fast). 3) Hold ESS position from this point on. During the lag, buffer Z+R+A (don't hold any of them). 4) Buffer to the second frame after Link is hit (the first frame he is past the explosion). 5) On this frame, buffer Z+R and still hold ESS.
If you did this correctly, you should be flying backwards in a HESS.Red Ice Clip with HESSsockfolder2013-01-18 | This shows a clip through the red ice to the heart piece in ice cavern. It uses the new HESS (hyper-extended superslide) technique (the HESS setup shown here works anywhere).
The angle is somewhat precise, so make sure you align and turn 90degrees correctly. The setup is to get away from walls (they tend to mess up the angle somehow) and position Link correctly relative to the bomb. Make sure you wait until the bomb is above Link's head.
Steps: 1) Position as shown. 2) Buffer to one of the 4 consecutive bomb frames: blue, red, big blue, big red. Roll on the next frame. 3) Pause quickly and hold right ESS position. It is possible to do real time. 4) Buffer to the first or second frame Link is standing straight up (1 frame after the first hit). If you rolled on the big red bomb frame, only the first frame will work. Buffer Z+R, and keep holding ESS position. 5) Quickly release Z and press it again for a slightly angle change that moves you into the desired corner. 6) Release Z and let Link clip.
For extra speed: It is possible to time releasing Z so Link clips immediately without waiting for him to get into the corner. It is also possible to press Z again after clipping (Link will be facing almost straight at the spinner), and then release and press again to go through the next hallway quickly.Weirdclip to Zoras Fountain Gold Skulltulasockfolder2013-01-13 | This shows a new setup to clip through the silver gauntlet rock to get to the GS in Zora's Fountain. Basically, when you do a weird slide, your animation goes in weird places. Some objects (rocks, people, grass, signs) use your animation for collision, which means you can clip through them. As adult, the only known good weird slide is the one used for weirdshot (where you fire your hookshot from underground), and I use that type of weird slide here. Since it is used for a clip, I call it 'weirdclip'.
Note: This setup uses the fact that the rock pushes you away when you backflip. It won't work elsewhere as is.
Setup approximately perpendicular to the rock as shown. 1) Drop a bomb, backflip, pull hookshot and instantly shield. Neutral roll forward. 2) Pausebuffer to either the big red bomb, or the first explosion frame. Buffer a neutral roll (A), while holding Z+R. 3) Start holding down within the next 5 frames. 4) Release shield and hold hookshot during one of the 4 frames seen at the end. (Note: These frames are for the first explosion frame. The big red bomb's window is 1 frame earlier). 5) Release down after the clip is complete.
This should be done with only a single buffer for serious speedrunnerguys. The best method I found for this is: 1) Buffer to the first red bomb/explosion frame. Hold Z. On the unpause, buffer an A press, then hold R+Hookshot. 2) Hold down immediately when play resumes (5 frame window), the release R about when Link hits the explosion (4 frame window). Since you are holding hookshot, it is automatically used. 3) Release down shortly after (many frame window). This is a bit tricky at first, but can be done consistently with practice.Adult Dot Skip - Pause Buffer-less (Almost)sockfolder2012-12-22 | This trick (the 'ZFG Special') is the newest and easiest way to skip past the Door of Time as Adult Link. It relies on a new glitch described at the end. Sorry for bad buffering.
Best method: Align with the door, backflip, roll and retarget to get your angle. Sidehop into the corner of the door of time. Crouch stab to the right to take out your sword. Don't let the camera zoom out from this point or the view will suddenly change (keep stabbing to keep it close to Link). Hold right, stab, then immediately hold left. To pause buffer this: Hold R. Pause. Buffer right+B one frame. On the following frame, buffer and hold left.
If done correctly, Link will hit the door of time. Pause buffer to the second frame of the sparks (they have an identifiable light-blue color). Equip hoverboots. Now to do the prelude cs skip, just hold right. To get inbounds, hold down-right to down. Do not hold Z.
Alternate method: This method gives a different camera angle. Sidehop, roll and retarget twice. Then get into the corner of the door of time. Wait until the camera zooms out, then crouch stab right. It should transition to an overhead view. Then do right+crouch stab, then immediately left as in the first method. Equip hoverboots on the appropriate frame. To do prelude cs skip, hold right to down-right. To get inbounds, hold down.
New Glitch: This trick relies on a new glitch I found. When you start a crouch stab, the initial angle of the stab is used for the recoil, no matter how the sword is moved after the stab is begun. In particular, you can stab away from the wall, turn the sword into the wall, and recoil off the wall yet towards the direction of the wall. The angle you can turn the sword is fairly small though.Child Link - B1 Web Skip (Water clip)sockfolder2012-12-06 | This trick clips through the wall in the Deku Tree B1 to avoid having to burn the web (the previous way to do this used the Gold Skulltula to vine clip). This was originally found completely by accident by someone (I forget who, sorry!) and I finally made a setup for it. The trick is precise, and when I say precise, I mean precise, and when I say I mean precise, I mean goddamn rage-inducing precise. (Change your coordinates by like 0.00001 units and it will fail).
Anyways, I finally found this setup: 1) Do the backflip, sidehop, sideroll sequence you see in the video. 2) Wait for the Deku Baba's head to pull back before the final backflip so you don't run into it. 3) Pause buffer until you see the Deku Baba's vine straight up (I hit the frame perfectly in the video). Buffer a Z+R press on the unpause. And yes, this pause buffer is required. 4) Roll as the Deku Baba's head is coming down (real time), or pause buffer until he is first 'hunched' over. There is a 3 frame window, so you shouldn't buffer this really. 5) Buffer until you see Link's hand out, but not holding his shield. Buffer Left+A on this frame to sidehop. 6) Now you can release everything as Link falls (or hold it too, doesn't matter). Hold left when you land so you slide into the loading zone for B2.
The IMPOSSIBLE SETUP is DONE!Backwards King Zora Skip (Child)sockfolder2012-10-03 | Recently GarnitrexGaming discovered that you can clip through certain objects when doing the weird shot trick (where you use hookshot/bow/slingshot/boomerang in a weird position). See: youtube.com/watch?v=eCj1S4vvZ0A
Most importantly, you can clip through rocks, people, and red ice crystals (not walls). This is because some objects use the 'fake' position of link (i.e his position under the ground) for collision instead of his 'real' position (which behaves normally).
For this trick, setup like I show (initial position is not picky). Drop a bomb, backflip, pull out rang and shield during the backflip to avoid the annoying view. Roll once. Buffer to the frame the bomb is big and red. Roll, and hold down within the next few frames (I pause buffer it). Keep holding Z+R+down until the frame when Link is first visible after the explosion. Buffer one frame with analog stick neutral (Z+R still held). Then unpause and buffer Z+down+rang, and if you did it right, you should pop out on the right side of King Zora after half a second.Weird Shot Setupsockfolder2012-08-06 | This is a faster setup for the new (at this time) trick where you clip into the ground with your hookshot out. I am not totally satisfied with it, but it is better than the A-slide.
The setup is: Prep: Make sure when you backwalk, you roll to the right. If you don't, you can walk forward and tap Z. That should fix the issue. Yes, this does matter.
Steps: 1) Backflip and pb on the frame where Link's body is horizontal. Buffer bomb and shield. (This is to get the right spacing). 2) After landing, pull out hookshot, and tap Z after the camera zooms in to cancel the view. 3) Hold Z and shield, and pause buffer to the first explosion frame. Buffer an A press on this frame. 4) Advance a frame or two and start holding down. This can be buffered or timed. You should still be holding Z+R. 5) On the second frame that Link is totally enveloped by the explosion (see video), release R and down, and hold Z and the hookshot button. 6) Advance a few frames and release Z. This can be buffered or timed.
If you did the above correctly, you should be below the ground with your hookshot out.Child Deku Tree Wrong Warp - No HP, uses deku nutsockfolder2012-07-19 | I made my own setup for the Deku Tree wrong warp starting from the door. There are 4 frames that work without adjustment, and another frame that works with an easy real time change. The weakness of this method is that the visual cue is relatively poor.
Get in the corner, do 8 backflips+OI. Hold down and cancel OI when the camera stops spinning. On Link's second stab, use a deku nuts. Then quickly press Z and start holding left. Sidehop twice while moving. Once you get past the ramp, the timer stops ticking and you can just sidehop to the corner. Align to the wall shown and then turn 180+press Z. Open the door from the left side quickly.
Adjustment: In the second part, I show an adjustment you can do if you are one frame late. You can determine the frame since Link reaches the top of the ramp before hitting the wall. Just sidehop at the top of the ramp in this case and it should work.
Visual Cue: As mentioned, the visual cue for the deku nut timing is a little weak. The best cues are probably the second 'stab' of Link's sword, and a white spot on the ground. The real time frames are shown at the end of the video.Adult Ganon door Deku Tree Wrong Warp Setup (Bufferless)sockfolder2012-07-18 | Here is the long awaited setup for doing the ganon door trick as adult. The same rules regarding the previous cutscene apply (I believe).
The OI setup is clear. You can get the heart container if you want (it isn't in the way). Hold right and cancel OI while the camera is stationary. Press B on one of the three frames shown at the end of the video, which will do a short vertical slash. Quickly press Z and hold left during the slash. Sidehop 3 times while sidewalking left. After you pass the hump, the warp is unloaded and you can just sidehop to reach the corner quickly.
In the corner, align and perform a vertical slash. Crouch stab twice. Put away your sword, sidehop left and roll. Hold Z until you see the camera really zoom in on Link, then open the door. Note all slash frames use the same method. There is no frame dependant adjustment.
Possible Errors: 1) Not sidewalking perfectly left, or starting too slow after the slash 2) Perfect sidehops mess up the timing I think, or sidehops into the hump 3) Opening the door too early after the final Z press will cause the cutscene to startGanons Tower Collapse Skip - TAS Onlysockfolder2012-07-11 | This shows the Ganon's Tower collapse skip first theorized by mzxrules. I simply show that it works and it is faster. Basically, when you wrong warp, map flags are preserved. It just so happens that the flag for the slingshot room's ladder being down is exactly the same flag as for the bars at the very bottom of Ganon's Tower. By shooting down the ladder (not shown) and using the Ganondoor, the bars open up. To reach the bottom, you need to hit falling rocks at critical times to reset the falling distance or Link will zone out. The luck required for these rocks is why this is only useful in a TAS.
By the way, this is my first TAS!Deku Tree - Break Web and B1 Skip in One Motionsockfolder2012-07-04 | This shows a new setup for the infamously hard trick to break the web, and perform the jumpslash antigravity to skip B1 without ever landing on F1. The new setup is a 1/2/2/2 trick. That is, there are 4 frames to sidehop on, and all but the first give 2 frames to jumpslash on.
Details: Get roughly in the corner as shown. Position is not very precise I think, though you can roll into the corner if you want to be exact. Deku nut immediately after the backflip to stun the Skulltula while he is at the top. Hold shield after the jumpslash to prevent Link from sliding backwards. Sidehop left sometime after the B button 'hits' the bridge. Then jumpslash at the right time.
For the first frame sidehop (which you can tell because Link pops above the hole slightly), you need to jumpslash when the grass is crossing the screen boundary (1 frame). For the other sidehops, you want to sidehop as/after the ground on the left side leaves the screen (2 frames each).Adult Naviless Setupsockfolder2012-06-29 | This is a new setup to do the warp from Lost Woods to Zora's River as adult without navi. No guarantees on it being faster, but you may find it more reliable or just like it better.
Instructions: Align to the wall, 180 and backwalk along the right wall to get into the corner. Sidehop left, side roll, neutral roll. Then sidehop right and roll with retarget to change your angle. Roll 3 times to grab the ledge and release Z. After you see Link grab the ledge, press A to drop, then B to jumpslash immediately. There is a 7 frame window for the drop. It is possible to be too early (where you get the wrong angle) and too late (where Link's position is off for some reason).Dodongos Cavern - Adult Cutscene Skip Setupsockfolder2012-04-19 | This video shows a setup to skip the Goron Ruby cutscene as adult, which wrong warps you to the Gerudo Training Grounds. You must savewarp inside DC beforehand to avoid crashing.
Simply get in the corner and perform the sequence shown to setup for the OI. Press and hold Z on the first blue frame after the 4th fast red flash (Note: Some people number flashes different from me, so just watch the video.) After 2 frames pass, backflip and perform OI. To do the backflip here, you must hold LEFT and A due to the camera angle.Forest Temple Adult Death Cutscene Skip Setupsockfolder2012-04-17 | This shows a pause buffered method to perform the forest temple death cutscene skip using a bomb. There are only two key frames that must be buffered, so it is easier than previous setups.
First, buffer to the first frame Link's sword is totally extended. (Note: You do need to cancel OI while the camera is in this spot or the backwalk will be different). On this frame, hold down and buffer Z and bomb.
Keep backwalk until you see barely see the fence as shown in this video. On this frame, buffer R (to drop the bomb) and down A (to backflip). Hold Z and wait to die. If done correctly, you will now get the medallion and skip the cutscene (as shown by the white flash).
PS: The first frame has good emulator 'magnetism' fortunately. That is, if you get the first frame pause, which I don't get in this video, this frame is exactly 4 frames later. Emulators are easier to pause buffer in 2 frame units, so this is good.Unfreeze King Zora without Blue Firesockfolder2012-04-09 | The grand mystery has finally been solved. For those who don't know, King Zora seemed to randomly unfreeze himself for years, but noone knew why. Now you can do it without blue fire or even a bottle.
Steps: 1) At the bottom of the hallway to King Zora, start sidehopping along the wall up to the top. 2) Scoot left so you can barely read the sign (this position is actually very loose). 3) Read the sign!
At this point, King Zora will be unfrozen as soon as he is reloaded. The fastest way is just to walk down the hallway and back up. Now you can get the Zora Tunic and complete the trading sequence without a bottle or entering ice cavern!A Tun a Fish Stricks - Skip 99% of non-fish related tricks!sockfolder2012-04-07 | Recently, I discovered that fish actually have collision! There are some people in #zelda spreading rumors that this has been known for years, but don't be ridiculous! If people knew about this, then these fishtastic tricks would be used everywhere. This video shows a whopper of four fishy tricks, and these were found only on the first day! Holy mackerel!Adult Fire Temple Death CS Skip Setup (NO PAUSE BUFFER!)sockfolder2012-04-04 | This video shows a new method to do death wrong warps with no pause buffers and lenient timing (though alot of memorization). You must simply pause as the diamond is about to close, then sidehop and perform adjustments based on the exact frame you paused at. The adjustments with a left sidehop are different from those for a right sidehop. It is helpful to think of them as a counter clockwise rotation (right, up, left, down) from your position.
(Note: I cheated to die quickly after landing. Normally you'd either die from damage or the timer expiring.)
(Note 2: You should hold z after the adjustment or you will get different results.)
Adjustments:
Timing -2 (@ 2:22); Sidehop right
Timing -1 (@ 1:45); Neutral roll
Timing +0 (@ 1:07); Nothing
Timing +1 (@ 2:56); Sidehop left
Timing +2 (@ 3:32); BackflipChild Fire Temple Death CS Skip Setup (NO PAUSE BUFFER!)sockfolder2012-04-04 | This video shows a new method to do death wrong warps with no pause buffers and lenient timing (though alot of memorization). You must simply pause as the diamond is about to close, then sidehop and perform adjustments based on the exact frame you paused at. A similar setup should work at shadow and spirit temple, and as adult.
Adjustments:
Timing -2 (@ 2:08); Width 2+ hearts: Backflip
Timing -1 (@ 1:32); Width 1.5-2 hearts: Sidehop left
Timing +0 (@ 0:51); Width 1-1.5 hearts: Nothing
Timing +1 (@ 2:46); Width 0.5-1 hearts: Sidehop right
Timing +2 (@ 3:23); Width ~0.25 hearts: Sidehop right twice
Timing +3 (N/A); Width 1 pixel: Jumpslash twice
Timing +4 (N/A); No gap visible: Jumpslash twice then sidehop rightChild Death CS Skips for all Templessockfolder2012-03-29 | This is a collection of setups for death CS Skips for each of the adult temples. You may need to savewarp before attempting to avoid crashes. Due to a horrible editor, the video is bad now, so I will have to redo it. Enjoy these setups in the meantime.

It results in War partially piercing through the floor. If it is possible to go totally through the floor, this bug may be useful to skip something.Darksiders - Hollows OoB Skipssockfolder2011-05-02 | This shows some major out of bounds skips in the Hollows. Effectively, almost all of the dungeon is skipped.
Note: For the first trick, I tried to skip the Griever cinematic by going around it, but failed. There is no need to do so though. For the second trick, the jump on the pipe at the very end is more precise than you might think to avoid a bug (which freezes your character).Darksiders - Early Drowned Pass Shardsockfolder2011-04-19 | This video shows how you can get the Drowned Pass Armageddon shard without using infinite jump. This can be done even before the first dungeon. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to get back across the entrance with the shadow realm enabled, even though it looks like it would be simple. The ending shows as close as I can get.Darksiders - Skip First Shadow Lurkerssockfolder2011-04-16 | This video shows a trick that lets you get the Armageddon shard and then leave the Choking Grounds without beating the shadow lurkers. The skip saves a fair amount of time, although you lose the ability to counter attack. It is possible to regain the ability to counter attack at the next set of shadow lurkers but that loses time. Note that you can still use the warps even with the shadow lurkers still active.Darksiders - Early Anvils Fordsockfolder2011-04-15 | This continues my previous video, showing how you can get through Drowned Pass to Anvil's Ford before doing the Cathedral. It starts with the sadly unreliable floor breaching trick. However, this might be the end of this route. You need chaos form to beat Ulthane and there is no infinite jump to get over the walls.Darksiders - Early Drowned Passsockfolder2011-04-14 | This shows how you can open up the path to Drowned Pass without the crossblade. Unfortunately, you can't beat a set of shadow lurkers without chaos form, so there is no real purpose to this as of yet.Darksiders - Early Armageddon Shard (Choking Grounds)sockfolder2011-03-30 | This shows a way to get the Armageddon Blade Shard during the temporary shadow vision at the beginning of the game. This allows you to avoid running back here later. It requires a purchase of Meteor Strike.Darksiders - Breaching the Floor with the Scythesockfolder2011-03-29 | This demonstrates a strange bug with the 3rd scythe attack that can occasionally cause you to fall through the floor in some areas.Darksiders - OoB Skip to Stragasockfolder2011-03-29 | This long oob hover skips most of the Black Throne dungeon. I do recommend getting the portal gun first or defeating the boss may be a tad difficult.Magicka - Deathbombing Fafnir (Chapter 11)sockfolder2011-03-23 | This shows a trick to kill Fafnir before he even starts his speech. Poor guy. The key component is to casting arcane nova while holding block (ctrl). This queues up the nova until you stop blocking, allowing you to input the sequence for the Death magick before it goes off.
The total game time for the chapter is 2:12.Magicka - Death: One Phase Kill (Chapter 10)sockfolder2011-03-20 | This video shows the fastest (known) method to kill Death in only one phase. The rest of the chapter is also executed fairly well. The total game time taken is 2:07.Magicka - Grimnir Skip (Chapter 12)sockfolder2011-03-19 | This shows a trick that allows you to skip the Grimnir fight in Chapter 12. If you do this with over ~21 Magicks, your game will crash for some reason. As a whole, the video shows a fast way to complete Chapter 12. This takes 1:29 game time, as shown at the end.
Note: Save editor was used to set the start time to 0:00.
Note2: This method is now outdated (slightly).
