George Browning After the closure of the infamously scary ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, Disney set to work on a new show for the theatre that would be appeal more to younger guests. But what they ended up with was a gross, tacky, awful attraction that became infamous among fans as one of the very worst things Disney had to offer. And of course, still scared kids.

The Eternal Problem with Disneys Tomorrowland

George Browning 2026-07-05 | Across all of the parks that feature it, Disney's Tomorrowland doesn't really seem to represent the optimistic look to the future its name suggests. When the first version of the land opened in Disneyland, it was supposed to be factual, but the march of progress dated Tomorrowland faster than any other land in the park.

Maelstrom: The History of Disney Worlds Scariest Boat Ride

A 2 hour tram and walking tour through behind the scenes backlots and movie studio soundstages. Splendid China: Floridas Abandoned Propaganda Theme Park

Full of stunningly detailed miniatures, recreating iconic sites around China. But also one of the most controversial park's the Orlando area ever saw, and one that eventually wound up abandoned.

Rocket Rods: The Failure of Disneylands Worst Ride

George Browning 2025-09-08 | For nearly 25 years, Disneyland has had an old thrill ride sitting abandoned in the park. Rocket Rods was supposed to be an exciting, high-speed replacement to the PeopleMover, but after budget cuts scaled back its early plans, it became one of the most troublesome rides in the park's history. And now stands as a symbol of the overall decay of Disneyland's Tomorrowland.

Small correction - I say "Star Tours: The Adventure Continues" but I mean "The Adventures Continue". You know what I mean.

Mickey's Toontown Fair at Disney World's Magic Kingdom was a small land in the corner of the park. While loved by many guests, beginning life as a temporary area its existence was fraught with design problems and issues left over from its origins. And its eventual replacement that came along in 2012, still holds many of those same problems. George Browning 2024-09-15 | Walt Disney World's Innoventions, which opened at Epcot in 1994, brought with it exhibits showcasing the technology of the future. But as time went on and exhibiting companies began to drop out of the pavilion, what resulted was a slow abandonment of the area, as areas were boarded up and blocked off. With talk over the last few months about the failures of CommuniCore Hall, I've been thinking a lot about the decline of Epcot's Innoventions and the sad story of its history and what we ended up with. I think out of everything currently at USF, ET is honestly my favourite ride. There's definitely things at that park that are more impressive like Escape from Gringotts and Revenge of the Mummy, and there have definitely been rides from its history I prefer, like Jaws. But there's something about the life and the history of Universal Studio's E.T. Adventure that makes it such a special dark ride. It's one of the few Universal rides that really manages to hit that Disney magic that is so sought after in theme parks, and in many ways it does seem like a Disney World meant for somewhere like Fantasyland.

The Sorcerers Hat: Disneys Most Controversial Building

George Browning 2024-01-14 | The Sorcerer's Hat at Disney's Hollywood Studios was once the icon of the park. The grand centerpiece, modelled after the hat from Disney's Fantasia, to act as a new decoration for the recent 100 Years of Magic Celebration. But as the celebration went away, and Walt Disney World's newest icon didn't go with it, reception to the Disney World's magic hat grew more critical, as the hat blocked the Chinese Theatre, and drew attention away from Disney MGM Studios' Earffel Tower, and the structure gained a reputation as Disney World's most controversial building.

Jaws The Ride: Universals Best Ever Attraction

I loved Jaws and I miss it a lot. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, both the Forbidden Journey and Hogwarts, and Diagon Alley, are great, but I'll always miss Amity Island. So I thought it would be fun to go over the full story, in depth, of the history of the ride, and why I think it's so great. And I guess more widely too, what makes a great attraction. River Country: Disneys Abandoned Water Park

River Country was Disney's first water park, built on the shore of Bay Lake at Walt Disney World. While the park achieved moderate success during its lifespan, the real story only began after the park closed its doors. Ok, I know some people regard Discovery Island as being a closed Disney park, but I don't really count it. It wasn't really a park, more of an attraction. The lines of what is and isn't a theme park start to get kinda blurry.

But the story of Disney's River Country is so interesting to me, I thought I'd take a crack at it. From the abandoned Discovery Island, to Wonders of Life, DisneyQuest and beyond, River Country is by far Disney's most iconic abandoned location. Such an interesting story of being forgotten and slowly rediscovered. And with recent developments such as Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge, it seems the history of Disney's River Country hasn't yet reached its final chapter.

Disneys Cancelled Theme Parks

The original Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room was a classic, much loved attraction that existed in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and the first Disney attraction, ride, or show, to feature Audio Animatronics. However, in the late 90s the Disney World version, named Tropical Serenade, was suddenly closed and changed to a new version of the show with updated Disney characters. And it's safe to say that guests were not happy. In this video, let's take a look at the history of Under New Management, the awful update to the tiki room featuring Iago and Zazu, and a show many consider to be among the worst updates to an attraction in Disney history. But was it really so bad? Well, yes, but also no, let me explain.

Universal Studios Worst Ride - Fast & Furious: Supercharged

Fast and Furious: Supercharged opened first at Universal Studios Hollywood as the finale of the studio backlot tour in 2015, and later at Universal Studios Orlando in 2018. Supposed to be a high octane thrill ride based around the popular Fast and Furious movies, and a successor to the disappointing Fast and Furious Extreme Closeup, what transpired was somehow even more cringey and embarrassing for Universal. A ride that is commonly pointed to as Universal Studios Worst Ride.

Ellens Energy Adventure: Disneys Weird Pro-Oil Ride

George Browning 2023-05-14 | The Universe of Energy was an opening day attraction at EPCOT. Sponsored by Exxon, the ride was a weird promotion of fossil fuels and was never very popular, so in 1996 it was updated to Ellen's Energy Adventure, starring Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Nye the Science Guy. This video explores the history of the forgotten Universe of Energy attraction, the update to Ellen's Energy Adventure, and the story of one of the weirder dark rides in Walt Disney World history.

George Browning 2023-03-19 | Cranium Command opened at EPCOT in Walt Disney World in 1989 at the Wonders of Life Pavilion. And several years after it's closure, in 2018, the story of the alleged theft and disappearance of its beloved animatronic Buzzy left the Disney parks world gripped. This video is a look at the complete story of the abandoned former Disney attraction, the urban explorer's who visited it, the time a classic Disney animatronic was stolen, the mystery surrounding his disappearance, and the question every Disney fan has been asking since, where is Buzzy?

Walt Disney Studios: Disneys Worst Theme Park

George Browning 2023-02-20 | Walt Disney Studios opened at Disneyland Paris in 2002. The park was originally intended to be MGM Studios Europe, a sister park of what is now Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida. However, the failure of Euro Disneyland the decade prior, saw numerous cut backs restrict what the park was originally intended to be and when Walt Disney Studios finally opened, it was nowhere near what many had hoped it would be. In this video I look at the original design for Walt Disney Studios park, what went wrong, and the exciting future plans to relinquish its reputation as Disney's Worst Theme Park ever.

I know there is some argument about whether Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour is scarier than this, but going off the attractions in US based parks, Alien Encounter wins by a mile. The attraction, originally starting out as an Alien themed ride and worked on by George Lucas of Star Wars fame, was an intense show in Disney's New Tomorrowland refurbishment. Walt Disney World has seen some weird and crazy stuff, but ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter may just take the cake.

YouTube Live was a 2008 event streamed live on the Internet from San Francisco. It was hosted by a variety of YouTube celebrities like Fred, Smosh, Tay Zonday, and Daxflame, and featured performances from the likes of Bo Burnham and Katy Perry. Today the show would no doubt be hosted by Mr. Beast, Dream, Markiplier, and everyone else with way more subscribers than me. The Bo Burnham segment is up on his own channel and you may have seen it already, but the rest of the show is grade A cringe and is sorta lost media today. From parkour to beatboxing to speed stacking, today I took a look at YouTube Live covering all the cringe, highlights and funny moments from this nostalgic YouTube event.

So Sky High was Disney's Harry Potter-ish kid's movie about a high school for superheroes. It wasn't a DCOM this time but an actually like theatrically released movie. Released shortly before High School Musical and Camp Rock really popped off in the "teenagers do cool things" genre, Sky High was soaring above the clouds on its own. In this video I review the movie Sky High and go over all the highlights and funny moments, kinda like a video essay, but not boring?

Jungle Run was an early 2000s TV show on CBBC. The kid's game show was similar to Legends of the Hidden Temple and involved kid's running around a jungle collecting monke statues to get prizes from the temple of the jungle king challenge at the very end of the episode. I just think it was really wild and probably one of the best shows around at the time. In this video I take a departure from Drake and Josh and Fred on iCarly to talk about another British nostalgia, kid's show, going over all the highlights and funny moments.

You ever seen those mega mansion tours advertising $500,000,000 houses on YouTube? Videos from Architectural Digest and others that show off these houses with 10 swimming pools, a bowling alley and a cinema? Well we're back at it again with some more mansion content. The thing is those millionaire and billionaire mansions that rich people love to buy are really ugly. In this video I go through some of these rich people mansions and talk about how terrible they are and how despite having all that money, the owners clearly have no taste.
