Only 4 Love - the one that started the Skeleton Band Songwriter X and the Skeleton Band 2024-03-04 | Only 4 Love. The first appearance of the 'Skeleton Band,' goes back all the way to 2012. This was the birth of the skellys and boney bois. We hope to bring you many more as you know our motto is 'Rock 'Til You Die.' This is the first appearance of Papa Calavera (guitar, vocals), Fred Kahlo (bass), and Susi impersonating Bonehead the drummer, who hadn't joined the band yet. Songwriter X, (our leader and songwriter as the name implies), introduces the band and lays the ground for the rise of 'Songwriter X and the Skeleton Band.' 12 years and counting, we hope to bring you more skelly bops in the years to come. Babalu Aye:Babalú-Aye (from yoruba Obalúayé), Oluaye, Ṣọpọna, Ayé in Trinidad Orisha,[1] or Obaluaiye, is one of the orishas or manifestations of the supreme creator god Olodumare in the Yoruba religion of West Africa. Babalú-Aye is the spirit of the Earth and strongly associated with infectious disease, and healing.He promotes the cure for illnesses. He is always close to Iku (the force responsible for taking life), as he promotes healing for those who are close to death.[2] However, some fear Obaluaye because he is believed to bring disease upon humans, including smallpox, in which he is known as Ṣọpọna.[citation needed]His cult powers and spells are used against all kinds of diseases, but particularly against skin diseases, inflammation and airborne diseases that can cause epidemics. She was an integral part of Susi and me, a real friend you could count on. She was always there for you and we were always there for her. You could feel that she consider herself our protector, just as much we were her protectors. We have no doubt she would have fought with us had we been attacked. By anyone. We originally released this song and music video in 2017. For the 2023 release we remixed an remastered the song and re-edited the video. Our dog Foxy is the star. Foxy died a couple of years ago and she is missed. We still have Susi's other Spitz dog Quinn. (or as Spitzes are know in the United States 'American Eskimos.' Funny story about that. When US entered WWII there was a concern over violence to all people and things German, so the Spitzes got re-named 'American Eskimos.' When X originally wrote the song and then we made a video it was described as 'A Hymn to lost Love across the Universe.' However as X worked on the video it became evident the song and video have become about our dog Foxy. The Orishas Are Coming to America Songwriter X and the Skeleton Band 2023-05-12 | The Orishas Are Coming to America. This song is from a musical written in the early 2000's. Susi wrote the book, X the music and lyrics. The incomparable Frances Tease is singing the songs. The arrangements were develop by me (X), then my old friend Hector Pineda stepped in and added his magic. This musical was in development with a Hollywood producer in the early 2000's but our efforts fell short and it didn't get staged despite a great effort by our team and lots of money spent. Our Original Orisha team consisted of Susi and I, Robert "Kongakid" Gutierrez on percussion and Frances Tease with main vocals. Its Not the Right Time Songwriter X and the Skeleton Band 2022-12-31 | It's Not the Right Time. This is a song my dear, dear friend Rue Miller and I wrote and recorded around 2002. Wow, 20 years ago, time flies! I think it's a perfect song to remember her by. I kept the vocal track and rebuilt the arrangement from the ground up. I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I hope you think so too! Rue was my voice teacher. We became good friends, then co-writers and penned many songs together, including a couple of stage musicals, "Esther!" and "Bubbles." Rue died a few years ago and I wanted to put this song out there for her friends, family and for everyone to remember her in the new year.
