The Mamas & The Papas - California Dreamin (2023 Remaster, Stereo Headphone Fix)

Sound Fusion 2023-12-29 | This is my attempt on fixing the 'hard panning'-mixing technique of the 60s for this song without ruining the stereo image...

Details:
I used moises.ai to extract the bass, vocals, guitar, drum and flute tracks. After that I centered the clearer of each stereo tracks and kept the wet stereo tracks where they belong in the mix. I then reduced the volume of each track and put a soft limiter on the master channel. That's it.

This week I'm proud to show you guys the project I spent working on the last days. It's the beginning of a series of Grand Theft Auto V.
It's all cutscenes put together with some nice clips created in Rockstar Editor and an epic Soundtrack.

Plot [includes spoilers]:
In 2004, Michael Townley, Trevor Philips and Brad Snider rob a bank in Ludendorff. After locking several hostages in a closet, Trevor wires an explosive to the vault doors, and Michael detonates them via his phone. Michael and Trevor enter the vault and steal just under $180,000. As the team make their escape, Michael is held at gunpoint by a security guard, who also removes the mask from his head. Michael advises the guard to forget what he saw and leave, but Trevor shoots him in the head.

The trio blow open another door and exit the bank, but are already swarmed by the local law enforcement. A massive gunfight erupts, forcing the team to hold off the police before escaping. The team reach their getaway vehicle and proceed to drive away, but they are pursued by more officers, and their hired getaway driver is shot in the head. Michael pushes his body out of the door and grabs the wheel, crashing one of their pursuers' car into a roadside tree. The group continues towards the helicopter waiting for them, but are forced to change course after encountering a police roadblock. They then cross over train tracks, but are hit by an oncoming train causing them to lose control and crash their car into a tree. The three survive, and Trevor suggests an alternative route to their getaway chopper, but Michael insists that they stick to the plan.

The group continue on foot through the town, but realize the chopper is nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile someone hiding around a corner shoots Brad with a Sniper Rifle and kills him. Dave fires again, this time at Michael. He is injured, so Trevor is forced to take out the attacking cops alone, refusing to leave his team behind, but Michael convinces him to leave. After briefly taking a woman hostage, Trevor successfully escapes into the snowy fields whilst still pursued by armed locals.

Some time later, in a local cemetery, a funeral for Michael is held. The sniper who "shot" him, supervises the proceedings, whilst Michael himself, who actually is alive, watches from the distance and flicks away his cigarette.

Nine years after these events, Michael De Santa (previously known as Michael Townley) is having a conversation with his therapist, Dr. Isiah Friedlander. Michael grows increasingly disgruntled at the fact that he is going through a midlife crisis, beginning to release a small amount of stress by shouting at Friedlander that the dream life he desires is disjointed, thus ending their brief session for the day.

Michael heads outside and rests his mind on a bench. This brings him into an encounter with Lamar Davis and Franklin Clinton, who he reluctantly leads into their repossession location. They arrive to their location and Franklin accompanies Lamar on a high-speed joyride throughout different parts of Los Santos.

Franklin and Lamar end their cruise at the Union Depository parking lot. As the men exchange repartee's with each other, they hear the LSPD sirens, which causes them to escape in different directions to lose the unwanted attention. Once the heat is dealt with, Franklin meets Lamar at the back of the Premium Deluxe Motorsport dealership, where they witness their boss and owner of the establishment, Simeon Yetarian, berating a young man, Jimmy De Santa, for making racial comments about him. Actually it's a sell strategy to sell a car to Jimmy.

Both Lamar and Franklin exit the the dealership and head to the latter's house, where Lamar makes fun of Franklin after he's been denied access to Franklin's home.
