"Real Wild Child" was first recorded by Australian Johnny O'Keefe. The Crickets probably learned the song from O'Keefe during the Crickets 1958 Australian tour. Cricket drummer Jerry Allison's (under the psuedonym "Ivan") deliberately goofy vocals has always made this track a fun novelty record. Buddy Holly's bright Fender Strat sound is wonderful in this song. I edited the original single to create an instrumental that really highlights the signature Buddy Holly sound. Great track because it is early, small group, rockabilly Elvis in his prime. This Elvis Presley Christmas song sounds like it includes The Jordanaires on backing vocals which would date the recording to the late 1950s. What is the actual title of the song? On what album or single did the song originally appear? I have searched Amazon/iTunes song samples for all Elvis Christmas tracks - no luck. I have used Google, Wikipedia and Discogs with the opening song lyrics etc - no luck. Lastly, I checked a definitive list of all tracks that Elvis recorded with the Jordainaires and no title jumps out. The track is short, so maybe it is a bumper promo provided to radio stations????
