[ILE] Independent Simulacrum (MIDI) Williatico 2021-08-08 | Hi everybody :3Today I bring you the song composed by ZUN for the Indie Live Expo II of 2020.It has been a long time since this theme came up, and many people have been requesting it, so after so long, here I bring it to you.It is such a peculiar theme, the first times I listened to it I had a hard time getting a taste for it, especially those rhythmic parts so out of step, but finally I ended up liking it quite a bit.In a way it reminds me of the Neo-Traditionalism of Japan style, perhaps because of the combinations between Early Ens and acoustic guitars, who knows.The irregular rhythms, the tempo changes, those fast notes on both piano and guitars ... in a way this song is very reminiscent of the more classic EoSD, PCB and IN songs, and I like that. At times it was quite difficult for me to be able to interpret the piano movement, but I tried to do my best. [Touhou 18] Where Is That Bustling Marketplace Now ~ Immemorial Marketeers (MIDI) Williatico 2021-07-14 | Hi everybody :3Today I bring you Chimata Tenkyuu's theme, the final boss from Touhou 18 Unconnected Marketeers. Well, well, well ... Here we have the most controversial theme from the whole game, people who love it, people who hate it, and I can understand both. Personally, I have to say that I like the ideas that this song shows, the piano melody is beautiful, and the section with the choirs and the Pop bell is simply magnificent. However, this theme, in my opinion, is too repetitive and baseless. ZUN resorts to repetitions of melodic ideas and tonality changes to vary the feelings conveyed by the song, but in this song I have to say that personally I don't see any direction in which ZUN has taken this song. Towards the middle of the song I was bored listening to it, I didn't want to continue with it because it was boring and without foundation.I remember a week before the game came out reading how ZUN was finishing various themes of the game just a few days before the game was released, and in a way this has been reflected in themes like this. However, as I have mentioned, this theme has a lot of inherent potential, and I am looking forward to playing with it to get the most out of it. [Touhou 18] The Obsolescent Industrial Remains (MIDI) Williatico 2021-07-11 | Hi everybody :3Today I bring you stage 4th theme from Touhou 18 Unconnected Marketeers.Well, it's been a while since the game came out, and even more since the last video I uploaded, I'm sure some of them even thought me dead. It has been a very tough few months for me, both due to workload and mentally, but I was finally able to find time to do the songs for the full game.Speaking of this theme, I love it. Along with the extra stage, both are my favorite songs in the whole game. The use of the guitars in conjunction with the saxes is sublime, and reminds me in many ways of the classic ZUN songs. The most remarkable thing about this second part of the game, perhaps for many, is the use of the new drum kit. Finally, after a long time, ZUN is using another drum kit that is not elementic for his songs (hallelujah), although he still uses it for snares accompanying the new drumkit. [Touhou 18] Smoking Dragon (MIDI) Williatico 2021-04-04 | Hi everybody :3Today I bring you Sannyo Komakusa's theme, the stage 3 boss from Touhou 18 Unconnected Marketeers.A fairly strong, energetic and powerful track, perhaps too much for a boss 3. A bit repetitive in my opinion, but not bad. I really like the beginning, it reminds me in a way (and not only because of the character's appearance) of the theme of Watatsuki no Yorihime, a theme that from the first moment gives you a feeling of power.And with this theme we finish the themes from the demo. The truth is that in general they have not been bad, I started from the basis that I would not like the songs and ZUN has surprised me for the better. As I already mentioned, the piano arpeggios on the bass in these songs along with the baritone sax seem to be the flagship instruments of this game, and here we have a demonstration in all its glory. This song is not one of my favorites from the demo, but it's not bad as satge 1.Also, I made a slight modification to the original theme. But in my absence, the Touhou 18 demo was released!I have not been able to take a look to the demo until a couple of days ago because, due to my studies, I have to travel a lot and I have not been at home. But now I'm back home, so let's talk about this new game ...At first sight, the themes of this demo seem quite interesting. As in Th17, pianos are an important part of the OST, and I LIKE that. I have noticed how ZUN in these songs resorts to the use of piano arpeggios on the bass line as a substitute for the strings, to fill the songs more, in addition to the return to the use of acoustic basses. That is good.On the other hand ... Elementic strikes again. We have to assimilate that it is the new Gator Kit. Except this theme, all the themes use Elementic, which I do not dislike at all, but I wish he would explore more. [Touhou 17] Entrusting this World to Idols ~ Idolatrize World (MIDI) Williatico 2019-08-23 | Hi everybody :3Today I bring you Keiki Haniyasushin's theme, the final boss from Touhou 17 Wily Beast and Weakest Creature.I love this theme, I love this character, I love the story of this game and this character, I love everything.When I played for the first time I had no idea what was going on, I did not understand how a character with this appearance could be the final boss of a game that deals with trips to hell and beast spirits, but once I read the story, everything made sense. I love how ZUN has played with us in this game.About the theme itself, it has not taken me long to become fond of him. After the first impression left by the demo, I must say that I am quite happy with how the OST has come out.
