MARDEK 1 OST: Main ThemeTobias Cornwall (Pseudolonewolf)2026-09-23 | MARDEK 1 OST: Main ThemeMemody: Sindrel Song OST (2019)Tobias Cornwall2022-01-09 | This is the soundtrack for the first game I made in Unity, in 3D, and which I released on Steam, which I made while recovering from brain surgery. I have very mixed feelings about the game - I'm proud of it, but it's weird and I can understand why people wouldn't like it - but overall I'm very pleased with the soundtrack!
It's an odd one, though, as the game is based around mimicking music using a limited number of notes, so most of these tracks have short phrases made of the same few notes played on an instrument then repeated by a 'voice'. Different to a typical soundtrack! I like the result though and I hope you do too.

Here you can see the new dynamic battle camera, which I feel adds a lot to the energy of the game!
You can check my website, alorafane.com, for more info and updates!Atonal Dreams - Musical Character ThemesTobias Cornwall2020-08-08 | Musical themes I composed for the four playable characters of Atonal Dreams, the game I'm currently making. Though they're instrumental, each has hidden 'lyrics' which inspired the structure of the pieces and which express each character's personality and driving forces. They're all quite different!
I also made this page specifically to describe the game: alorafane.com/atonaldreamsDivine Scenes - Introducing Ossoum & PierceTobias Cornwall2020-07-25 | I'm currently working on a game called Atonal Dreams: an RPG inspired by MARDEK (sort of; it's complicated). This little scene introduces two of the main characters, who I just made the models of and am in the process of figuring out the voices for. I made it mostly for my own benefit, but thought I might as well share it too.
Ossoum is roughly based on a combination of Saul and Legion's depressed mind in MARDEK, while Pierce is based on Muriance. They've changed a lot though and aren't meant to be adaptations of those characters exactly.
I've written way more about what exactly this project is on my website, http://alorafane.com
I may or may not make more of these as I progress through development (I'm hoping for a release date around the end of the year), but we'll see!MARDEK - Now on Steam! Link: store.steampowered.com/app/1302990/MARDEKDivine Dreams (MARDEK RPG Reimagining) - Gameplay Demo 1 (Week 13)Tobias Cornwall2020-04-05 | Divine Dreams is a reimagining of MARDEK RPG, which I released back in 2007-2010. I'm using the term 'reimagining' rather than 'remake' because while it's directly inspired by MARDEK, it's also different - improved, in my opinion - in a lot of ways.
This video is of a pre-alpha build of the game, which I'm showing as a sort of proof-of-concept, to give people an idea of how everything will work. I'm expecting a lot to change in the final version.
If you want to follow the development, I've been posting dev blogs every week on my website:
Thanks for your interest! If you have any comments about what you think should be done differently, I'd love to hear them. Now's the best time to be making changes, and I hope to end up with something we can all love.
It's also motivating to hear bits that people actually like!Divine Dreams OST - Casual BattleTobias Cornwall2020-03-28 | This is some music from my game Divine Dreams, which is a reimagining of MARDEK. So if you don't understand what's going on, the answers are there!MARDEKs Beginnings: Governance de Magi 1 (2004), a Neverwinter Nights moduleTobias Cornwall2019-09-20 | When I was a teenager, before I made my own games, I used to play Neverwinter Nights - a Western RPG based on Dungeons & Dragons (3.5e), made by BioWare - quite a bit, as it included a full 'toolset' that allowed you to use its assets to create your own adventures.
This one wasn't the most original or interesting of the many that I worked on, but it was the only one that I actually finished. For that reason alone, I later used it as the inspiration for a Flash JRPG series called MARDEK, which you might have heard of if you're looking at this.
I'm uploading this to show that MARDEK was itself a drastic remake of an earlier idea, much as Taming Dreams was a revision of MARDEK. Some characters appear with similar but less interesting roles, while others - like the protagonist and his best friend - didn't exist yet.
Since I had to create a custom character to play this, I gave myself a crude name which I both regret and find hilarious. Hey, if I'm reliving being a teenager, I might as well go all the way!Taming Dreams Episodes 1+2 LongplayTobias Cornwall2019-09-16 | Taming Dreams was an attempt to reboot my old MARDEK series, from 2015. It wasn't widely released and I don't think it's even available anymore, which is a shame because I put more effort into it than I did the originals. This exhaustively long (and commentary-less) playthrough covers the same period as the original MARDEK chapter 1, which I've also recorded: youtu.be/7JluM4veXeI
It's interesting comparing the two. Taming Dreams is a lot cleverer, and it deals with spiritual and intellectual themes, as well as overcoming inner demons rather than just violently fighting outer ones... though whether or not it went too far in that direction will vary between individuals.
If this long video just wasn't enough and some some reason you're not aware of this already, you can read more about this on my personal blog: tamingmind.com (Unless you're reading this in the future and I've already been slain by your new robot overlords.)MARDEK Chapter 1 PlaythroughTobias Cornwall2019-09-16 | MARDEK is a Flash game that I made way back in the ancient days of 2007-2010, and which at least some people seem to fondly remember. I've recently been wondering whether to return to it in some form, and I recorded this playthrough so then I could easily reference the dialogue and events without having to constantly replay the game. I've uploaded it in case anyone else finds it interesting to sit and watch an old game being silently played for an hour (and who wouldn't?!).
I tried to reboot MARDEK as 'Taming Dreams' in 2015, and I've also uploaded a recording of these same sections as they appear in that: youtu.be/JOi-HeichLE
If this long video just wasn't enough and some some reason you're not aware of this already, you can read more about this on my personal blog: tamingmind.com (Unless you're reading this in the future and I've already been slain by your new robot overlords.)Memody: Sindrel Song - TrailerTobias Cornwall2019-07-17 | Memody: Sindrel Song is an original game where you mimic musical melodies to develop connections with people, and to find your own place in the world as well.
Gameplay involves carefully listening to melodies, and accurately playing them back using a piano-like layout of six tone keys. Unlike rhythm games, it uses memory rather than just reactions.
The story follows a 'sindrel' called Memody who awakens into life fully-grown, with just six days to live, as is typical of her species. What's not typical of her species is the dark voice in her head, a 'daemon' that fills her thoughts with constant negativity. During her limited time, she meets with other sindrels, who each have personal songs describing what life means to them. By understanding these other perspectives and forming relationships, perhaps Memody can find reason and purpose in her own life despite the darkness in her head. Perhaps she'll even choose to live forever.
I made this game alone while recovering from brain cancer treatment and struggling with mental illness. It's taken a while to actually *finish* the thing because of these issues, but I've got there now, finally! There's a lot more detail about that on this site I've set up for it:
I've also got another website for general games development:
alorafane.comMemody: Sindrel Song - Another Development Demo (Courses Stage)Tobias Cornwall2019-05-04 | I'm still working on this (now retitled) game! It's been taking forever due to somewhat inconvenient health reasons (literal brain cancer), but it's pretty much almost done now. It's changed quite a bit visually since the previous videos, but the general gameplay is the same.
I've been posting about the development in (exhausting) detail on my personal blog: http://tamingmind.com/tag/64Sindrel Song Gameplay Preview 4Tobias Cornwall2019-02-09 | In which this this game has developed a bit since the last one, a few days ago!

I wrote more about this video and the game in general in this blog post here: http://www.tamingmind.com/161Sindrel Song Gameplay PreviewTobias Cornwall2019-01-05 | This is a (stupidly poor quality) video showing the gameplay of a short game I'm making called Sindrel Song. It's just a quick little thing that I'll probably release as an app, hopefully soon. I started it 9 days ago, and it's almost done already.
Also, it's been ages since I uploaded anything here, wow! How many views will this get? 6? 9? About 45 hour-or-so-long episodes are planned, which will be released as free online browser games and/or mobile apps. Probably.
The game and all its assets (art, music, writing, concept, programming, etc) are made by one person (Tobias Cornwall; 'Pseudolonewolf').
You can read more about its features, development, and the inspiration behind it at http://www.alorafane.comAlora Fane DreamQuest DemoTobias Cornwall2013-05-31 | This is a basic demonstration of the current game/tool that I'm working on, which is currently tentatively called DreamQuest (the title may change before the final release), and which is part of an 'Alora Fane' series of games that I intend to make, set in the same universe.
The 'game' is largely a simple but powerful RPG creator, which should be intuitive enough for anyone to immediately pick up without any programming knowledge, and which allows you to create short but entertaining quests for yourself and others to play. These quests can be saved as files and shared online very easily!
This video shows the creation of a basic, silly quest just to show off many of the features, and the GUI and such. More complex and involving quests are possible, and I've made some myself; it's entirely possible to make a satisfying and rather deep quest within a day or two with this tool, while it'd take months to tell a story if you were making your own game.
The music in the video is music from the game, dubbed over the top: the main theme repeated twice, and then two mood/area tracks. I composed it myself!
