Chaos Feedback Oscillators with diy circuit by Ernst Bonis Acid Solder Club 2026-01-16 | First prototype of feedbacking chaos oscillator circuit by Ernst Bonis. The project is first iteration of a DIY soldering kit that we are making based on principles similar to designs of Rob Hordijk's "Benjolin", but by Ernst his sketches. The Chaos oscillator circuit idea and vision of Ernst is based around 2x CD4046 oscillator chips and a set of 4013 Flip Flops that feedback into each other. From here the sounds will go trough different other filtering and mixing stages and back to the cv source inputs of the oscillators. Re-using parts of organs for rhythm machines - first test and explorations Acid Solder Club 2025-02-13 | This is a first test and tryout for looking at possibilities of re-using printed circuit boards of old organs that are no longer usable and re-casing them in new ways. In this video I've swooped the inside of a KAWAI organ donated by Vincent /Vinnieragua out of the dust, and triggering the sounds of the drummachine board with triggers from modular synthesiser module the "Turing Machine" by Music Thing Modular. This is a first pilot and proof of concept in a series of follow up projects of re-using organs that are no longer serviceable either due to poor conditions, lost knowledge or other reasons. Dutch STEIM Zwarte Dozen Systeem - Sound Demo with Novanex Delay. Acid Solder Club 2024-11-26 | Short jam of patching with the rare Dutch modular synth system that started out around 1974 within the STEIM Studio for Electro-Instrumental music. Since 2022 Veerle (Elektortek) got her hands one this system, in total consisting out of 4 rows of "cassettes"/modules (34 total modules, 4x patch matrices). It needs quite some servicing and repair, but als a lot of cassettes survived the forces of time. Since last year the system is based at Acid Solder Club Utrecht, Veerle's creative electronics/ DIY and synth workshop and experimental sound studio based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Together with a small team (herself, Rob vd Poel and Sybren Danz) we are searching for documentation, video materials, schematics and all kinds of doodled and sketched info, that most unfortunately, is lost in time. We are currently also working on a digital archive with stories, patch ideas, a new service manual and repair blog.The process is slow, since a lot of information is lost and we are looking at similar circuits at the time, and digital and book references to help the build. Short sound demo, so many options for manipulating the beautiful sequence that rolled out of my head, before I started to record. End part is a bit more experimental pushing the sounds from noisy and distorted to more quiet and airy. Joystick is patched to control the Decay and Filter Cutoff on axes, the matrix patch is pretty standard routing techniques, next video will push the matrix options even more to make full use of this way of moving the sound across the synth. Modular Synthesiser and Yamaha Organ post-poofed ambient jamsession Acid Solder Club 2024-09-02 | After intense weeks of organising and celebrating Dutch Modular Fest 24' in Utrecht, it was time to hit the antisocial sound cave. Yamaha organ at home fed into looper eurorack module made by Dirkxonic, shaped further through pathways in the modular synth. Leads, drum and bass sounds coming from organ, spacey bleeps from FM and AM modulating Benjolin and VCO module through ringfolder and adding some space and bits with Qbit Nautilus and Typhoon... ahhh take me awayyyyy....Visuals added on top of live recording from the jamsession, these were made when I played back in 2022 on Dutch Modular Fest at Pieter Baan Centrum Utrecht, using video feedback, glitch art techniques, and EdirolV8 mixer. Though it would be a fitting recap moment to share the post-DMF brain vibe.

Only things added are video effects from a previous recording and some text. Recorded a whole session after a few people were interested in knowing how I make 'songs' or asking how I tweak sounds. So though 'meh why not record the whole shebam?' and here it is. It's fun to watch back, the result doesn't really matter, I like seeing the process of how it get there and moments where it clicks and when it doesn't. Setup is made with Edirol V8 mixer and grumpy camorder and tv monitor. Also another very cool little video enhancer/mixer was added in between the mix to create different hues and sharpness. Now the static modern digital images get more depth and livelyness because its mixed in with more old-school gear!
