Diablo III Boss Fights - The Butcher - 1080p HD
updated
I found this to be the cleanest rotation to 2-cycle the Regisvine:
1. Kokomi E to break shield
2. Kazuha QE to break shield and res shred
3. Furina EQ to buff Neuvillette as the Regisvine shield breaks.
4. Neuvillette goes brrrrrrrrrr
5. Repeat from step 1
My constellations are: C3R1 Neuv, C1R0, Furina, C0R0 Kokomi and Kazuha.
What if you only have C0R0 Neuvillette or don't have Neuvillette at all?
If you're struggling to deal enough damage, don't forget you can eat food for some juicy buffs. Comment taken from @pax4852 :
- 20% CR (+20% CD if character specialty)
Pate de Fruit/Lyney, Consomme/Neuv, Pile em up/Diluc, or Come and Get it/Qiqi
- 25% HP (30% HP if character specialty)
La Lettre a Focalor/Furina, or Gilded Tajine/Dehya
- 25% Hydro DMG
Hydro DMG Potion
These food buffs benefit Hydro crit and HP scaling characters the most. And if you don't have Neuvillette, you can sub in Yelan and use Kokomi as the on-field DPS like in this video (F2P clear): youtube.com/watch?v=0w_bRdWjtEA
Lastly, you can do three rotations instead of the two I needed in this video. Good luck.
Kazuha, Neuvillette, Fischl, Zhongli
My Neuv is C3R1 so the rest of the team just supports him as much as they can. Nothing much to say here. I am playing on a controller so I can't do the 360 fast-spinning that I see other people do, but that gives me a headache anyways.
Team 2:
Kokomi, Furina, Xiangling, Bennett
It's like Kokomi and Furina were made for each other. Kokomi can reap all the benefits that Furina provides, including hydro resonance and the increased healing bonus, and can also provide party-wide healing for easy fanfare stacks.
You can't go wrong pairing Xiangling with Bennett, and they synergize reasonably well with Kokomi since she can technically benefit from the increased attack despite being an HP scaling char.
The deluge of attacks from Kokomi and Furina's skill should ensure that hydro is always applied to the enemy, allowing Xiangling to reverse vape every time.

I moved around so much because I wanted to play it safe, but in hindsight, I could have just stood still and face-tanked everything. Would have been a much faster fight.

I literally learned Drox's mechanics in the middle of this fight. Killed too many banners that I didn't need to.

Pretty smooth fight up until the end where I spend most of time avoiding degens on the ground. Super annoying, Cortex is dumb.

*** notes:
- Black Rider's Soul Divide does the same damage as Shiva's Tandava (230 almighty damage to all enemies) BUT it has a low hit rate and a high chance to apply Seal with only a 29 MP cost at +9 almighty affinity. I would have loved to use Amon or Shiva as the DPS, but their skills cost too much MP. Even regular almighty skills cost too much MP. Black Rider was an easy choice.
- I try to "fix" Soul Divide's hit rate issue by using both Dragon Eye and Beast Eye; you can judge for yourself how effective it was. (Spoiler: There were some gut-wrenching misses). That's also why I have Safeguard to soften the blow.
- Seal actually is... not good in my opinion unless it's applied on Demi-fiend himself. I want the enemies to attack me so that I have more chances to null/drain/repel them. I very luckily managed to seal Demi-fiend around half health, skipping his Mediarahan without using Accursed Poison. You can see me awkwardly trying to land a seal when he's around half health instead of going full blast with a Magatsuhi Critical.
- If you like the thought of spamming almighty skills but really hate how unreliable Soul Divide is at hitting Demi-fiend, there are other demons with unique almighty skills like Mother Harlot and Zaou-Gongen, but their MP cost is higher. The Aogami Essence Type 6 gives Nahobino Divine Arrowfall, which is literally just a slightly stronger Megidola at half the MP cost, so that might be viable too. I'm not sure what the math is, but as long any of these other skills don't miss on Demi-Fiend then it's possible they do more damage than Soul Divide over a long battle. Just a random thought that I don't feel like testing out :p
- First playthrough, so no access to Snake Nuwa which I would have gladly used over Cleopatra to speed up the fight by dealing chip damage to Demi-fiend while still debuffing attack/defense.
- Finishing Demi-fiend off with Freikugel EX is... very poetic. It's vengeance for all those Freikugel crits that ended so many of my runs. :)

*** Click "Show More" below for my thoughts:
*** General Notes:
- Hard mode.
- 1st Playthrough, no NG+ demons, no repel/drain phys.
- No Accursed Poison spam except for Mediarahan skip (Not skipping Mediarahan would have just made a tedious fight even longer; plus I had plenty of mana items at the end and I didn't use most of my other demons so I think I would have been able to kill him regardless).
- No Adversity (Beast magatsuhi) cheese.
- Magic Nahobino (No Murakumo).
*** Acknowledgements:
- My team ended up being very similar to omegaevolution's team (youtube.com/watch?v=FyRyLxUlsKQ); his video is 16 minutes shorter so I guess his setup (Snake Nuwa to debuff instead of Cleopatra) and play style is better, though I did play very cautiously.
- Thanks to Buffmaister for finding out about using Accursed Poison to skip Mediarahan at approximately 50% of Demi-fiend's health (youtube.com/watch?v=UlIMSQGYzmE). I start setting up for it around 19:07.
*** About my demons:
- Shiva essence on Nahobino for resistances. Combined with the resistances the rest of my team has, I repel/drain: fire, force, ice, elec, light and dark. My team at least resists physical, and one of them even nulls it. Only single target physical and almighty attacks can slip through; otherwise Demi-fiend's team will lose turns.
- Abyssal mask on all demons is mandatory for Chaotic Will. Even Enduring Soul is less of a priority imo. Most people suggest you have both; I put Revival Chant on Nahobino instead.
- Cleopatra's Frolic is super OP. Not only does it debuff all enemies' attack and defense by 2 stages, but it can charm Demi-fiend's allies (and even Demi-fiend himself, I think), causing them to lose turns. This contributes to my team's defenses greatly. If you don't have access to Cleo, Snake Nuwa's Sacrifice of Clay does basically the same thing but it also deals damage.
- Tao is basically a better Idun. Light of Order does exactly what Golden Apple does, but it also adds Dekunda on top of it (remove all debuffs). If I get Dekaja'd and debilitated twice, a single use of Light of Order puts me at +1 to all buffs.
- Tao stays in your party if you don't pick the Neutral ending option (I will destroy the throne) after killing Metatron and approaching the door. If you're going for True Neutral ending on your first playthrough and want Tao on your team for Demi-fiend, DO NOT APPROACH THE DOOR (you can kill Metatron). Not entering Empyrean means you can't get Zeus; Odin is a viable alternative that deals physical damage instead.
- My Nahobino has Revival Chant (Aogami Essence Type 10) to revive, full heal, and summon back onto the field any demons that get randomly 1-shot by Demi-fiend's Chaotic Will.
*** General strategy for the fight:
- MP must be conserved at all costs, especially on Tao. Use Light of Order only 1 time per round, unless I use Magatsuhi Critical. Otherwise Tao should either use an item or pass her turn. Also, fully buffing will basically guarantee that they Dekaja you next turn, so that's why I don't bother most of the time.
- Try to kill Pixie and Parvati ASAP - they can heal Demi-fiend for like 8k HP and prolong the fight even more.
- Cleopatra is my debuffer that also occasionally deals force damage. After using Frolic, she contributes damage to either an add or Demi-fiend himself.
- As a Magic build, my Nahobino is basically responsible for killing the adds and generating press turns. Occasionally will use Revival Chant as needed. By specializing in Fire and Force attacks, I can almost always target one of Demi-fiend's add's weakness with the exception of Pixie (weak to dark).
- The 4th slot is basically my main DPS. I started off with Amon to weaken the adds, and swapped to Zeus because he is more MP efficient. With the adds weakened by Amon, I have some breathing room to kill any one of them if I feel like Demi-fiend is about to use Gaea Rage.
- At around 50% of Demi-fiend's health (I think it's a little bit less than that tbh), swap to Garuda (or any Avian/Raptor demon) for Accursed Poison, skipping Demi-fiend's Mediarahan (full party heal) and one of his Chaotic Wills.
- Zeus uses critical gem on himself and mostly targets Demi-fiend, though he can target an add if I can't kill one within 5 of Demi-fiend's turns. I think Zeus could have dealt even more damage if I had someone buff him with Donum Gladi or he uses a Charge gem for Magatsuhi Critical; I believe this stacks.
Overall, I played very cautiously and even made a few obvious mistakes (the most egregious one being when I used Magatsuhi Critical right after Demi-fiend halved my turns at 36:06, lmao). Despite that, I felt like the fight went very smoothly and I never felt in danger of dying except whenever he used Chaotic Will. Tao and Cleopatra are ridiculously OP and I feel dirty for using them.
PC Specs: Ryzen 5 3600, GTX 1070, 16GB DDR4 Ram. PC is quite old now, so please excuse any hiccups.
Notes:
- Hard mode.
- No DLC Demons.
- 1st Playthrough, no NG+ demons.
- No Accursed Poison spam, 2-turn kill or any other ways to cheese the fight.
- Magic Nahobino.
Fight could have been better optimized. I might have misplayed a few turns, such as not getting an extra press turn before using an item/healing or not skipping a demon's turn when they had nothing much to contribute.
Demons in the main party were selected based on their Affinities - Rangda repels phys, Mada drains fire, Mara drains elec. This is purely to counter Shiva's attacks like Hades Blast, Maziobarion, and Maragibarion. Unfortunately, my damage was quite low - I was playing very defensively and wanted to conserve MP (Maybe Ice Dracostrike on Rangda wasn't the best idea), leading to a 30 minute boss fight; at least the music was nice!
Damage could have also been better if I had a demon with Donum Magici and applied it to Nahobino whenever I had the chance. Started to struggle near the end when they kept summoning Ananta (the multi-headed snake), forcing me to target it because it can heal Shiva for like 20k hp or something.
As for my demon's skills, they typically had the following:
- Great life spring
- Great mana spring for supports, High restore for attackers
- Null/resist whatever their weaknesses are
- Relevant pleromas
- The actual usable skills
In case you're wondering why I don't kill Shiva's other buddies it's because I want them to potentially hit Rangda and get their attacks repelled, which ends their entire party's turn. Ganesha constantly using Critical Wave and losing his team's turns was satisfying to watch.
In retrospect, I can't remember if Kali ever used an attack or if she was only giving me status ailments. The rest of the fight is pretty self-explanatory.

Still the true final boss of PoE in my opinion. Sirus can suck it. This feels appropriately challenging for an endgame encounter without any gimmicky storm bullshit. Managing the elder squids and shaper vortexes actually require skill. The phases feel less bullshit because you can at least gain flask charges from the adds. Also wearing kaom's roots gives freeze and slow immunity, so that really helps to make this fight so much more enjoyable for my shitty melee build.

Unintentionally culled shaper with leap slam. Kind of anticlimactic and hilarious.

I still don't really understand how the storm phases work, but I think I messed up really badly on the final phase by leading him to the stairs (Edit: the stairs issue is fixed in 3.9.2, so in the future fighting him on the stairs should be fine). I had to quickly cull him otherwise I wouldn't be able to dodge his meteor attack. Other than the confusing storms and the fact that a melee skill like sweep is pretty shit at fighting him, I feel like Sirus is actually significantly easier than uber elder. I still consider uber elder to be the true end game boss fight.

The state of melee in 3.9 is... horrifying to say the least. This is what endgame DPS looks like on a medium budget non-impale build using a non-meta melee skill. This patch, melee was gutted in several ways. First, you cannot roll 7L rare weapons with fortify/%increased physical damage anymore. Second, multi-mod can only add 2 crafted affixes (multi-mod itself is the 3rd affix).
The days of rolling the fortify hybrid mod, isolating it, and then multimodding it are over. Getting a powerful endgame weapon is very difficult now, and you will still be worse off than before even after spending 10+ ex on a weapon. My solution was to use a terminus est with fortify implicit so that I can still have a 7L, though it is still shittier than a past 7L rare sword. According to PoB, even 600 pdps exquisite blades give me less DPS than my 7L terminus. So that's what it's currently like for 2H.
Even for dual wielding, maim chests can no longer be rolled, so you cannot get a pseudo-7L from that either. On top of that, boss HP has been significantly increased, by about 3-4x what they were before 3.9. This is a nerf to all builds, but melee feels it especially.

Loot: 6:35, Gear: 9:20
My first attempt ever at a blighted map, a T15 with 3 teal oils (apparently sacrifice frags don't work at all, even though the map device seems to accept them). I've been selling all of them up to this point and I thought what the hell, I should run at least one just to see whether it is more profitable to sell or run them myself. I think even with the stacked decks, this run barely broke even or possibly lost me money, since the league is dead at this point so selling some of the loot may be impossible. However, according to posts on reddit running a bunch of them should earn a nice profit in a healthier economy.
As for my performance, I should have paid more attention to the different lanes. I almost let the various bosses reach the pump so many times. The terrain blocked a lot of my projectiles which means I couldn't just stand in the middle and off-screen the entire encounter. It also didn't help that there was a portal almost literally next to the pump, and was how I leaked 3 mobs. I thought this shit was fixed? But overall, I felt that the blighted map was very fun and intense. I wish they were more accessible because the tower defense fanboy in me would honestly just do this forever instead of normal mapping.
If you're curious about this build, it is a mostly fire damage power siphon deadeye wander using a kaom's heart and stacking abyss jewels. This allows me to reach over 9.5k life, with an additional 2.8k HP buffer from Hale Negator if I take a savage hit (more than 15% of max HP in a single hit). My 6L comes from my gloves, which can be crafted on a shaper base using an essence of hysteria for the flat added fire damage and hoping to roll slower projectiles support with it. Since wanders can shield charge now, I didn't need to stack movement speed anywhere, and can focus more on defenses which wanders sorely need.
PoB: pastebin.com/PQAVzgig (same as vid), pastebin.com/9e4c5s7U (final ver.)
Played like absolute shit but technically deathless. Unfortunately this character is quite glass cannon and it really shows against uber elder. As is customary in all of my uber elder fights, I get shotgunned by elder's icicle, putting me 1 hit away from death.
Some notes about this build. Please don't laugh at my wand. I fucked up my %fire damage/ignite craft. For some reason I thought it was already max level but there is another tier higher (Edit: I have since re-crafted the proper mods, but as of 3.9 multimod is nerfed so a wand of this power is much harder to attain). Also my wand and my watcher's eye are in desperate need of divining (Edit2: I have since divined them so they are well rolled).
Why fire damage? Why not scale all elemental damage? Well going pure fire makes gearing easier. I am also using combustion support instead of energy leech support or other damage supports, and it is a 10% damage difference in favor of combustion. I also multimodded a very strong pure fire wand that is so much cheaper than a good flat ele dmg wand. Like literally 5-10x cheaper. I crafted the wand using deafening essence of anger (guaranteed tier 1.5 flat fire) and just annulled until it was the only mod left, then multimodded the rest.
Honestly if I had more money I would probably get just a little bit of cold damage on more of my jewels. I'd probably get an assassin's mark ring as well with minimum endurance charge crafted on. Though my gear is pretty decent, it's actually the "budget" route when compared to a generic elemental damage wander.
With just a bit more flat cold I could shatter mobs when mapping, right now with only 1 jewel giving me ~10 flat cold and I am already shattering like half the mobs. Despite so much fire scaling I guess I have some decent generic elemental scaling as well, and getting assassin's mark + swapping combustion for energy leech could give me more cold dmg at the cost of overall damage.
PoB: pastebin.com/PQAVzgig (same as vid), pastebin.com/9e4c5s7U (final ver.)
General mapping gameplay of my fire based power siphon deadeye wander. Was lucky to get a blight boss so I can show off how this build's single target DPS is against a really tanky enemy. Not the best, not the worst, but then again power siphon isn't known for its single target capabilities.
Overall pretty satisfied with how this build turned out. The fact that wanders can shield charge now means they can also get fortify and have the option to drop a quicksilver flask. I wanted to try my hand at making a slightly less squishy wander than usual. Some additional defenses my build could use are minimum endurance charges on rings and a corrupted kaom's heart with max res or life. I could also drop damage and get a defensive shield such as Saffell's Frame or Magna Eclipsis, however I would need to cap my res again and I just don't really feel like dealing with that.

Depth 263: 0:00, Depth 270: 1:46, Depth 281: 3:24, Gear: 5:11
Just killing all the Kurgals I've found in delve so far. Been delving sideways at around depth 260-280 as that is what my build can comfortably handle since it is not very tanky.
Path of Building: pastebin.com/whmeTz6H
Didn't feel like going the full physical impale route which is probably stronger than what I made and probably a bit broken, so I expect some nerfs are gonna be happening next league (not a fan of playing stuff that people can't replicate a league later). Also didn't want to be a dex stacking build because I feel they are squishier despite damage being crazy. I am a fan of cold conversion phys builds for the most flexibility when scaling damage, and double dipping on the hatred benefits.
Damage is surprisingly decent considering rain of arrows is not exactly known for its DPS, however when the arrows overlap they can occasionally deal some significant damage. Supplementing damage with Vaal rain of arrows is quite nice too, it's really good defensively against some map bosses because it locks them in place.
I made a few mistakes in this Uber Elder fight as I always do. This time I feel like I wasn't actively dodging Elder's icicles enough. I tend to build my characters tankier than others, but there were a few times I definitely deserved to die but I was lucky enough to block the attack or something. Should have used my molten shell a bit more cause there were long periods of time when I just forgot about it.
Overall pretty satisfied with this build, managed to hit 100 because Vaal molten shell is OP. Legion mobs are rippy as hell, particularly Maraketh rares but having 20k EHP with Vaal molten shell makes life a bit easier.
Why dodge when you can just tank all the slams? Kappa. As long as I didn't get one shot I could recover to full life pretty quickly. My DPS is about 1 mil with all buffs up, and 300k per totem (can have up to 5 but they die fast, activated all of them near the end to deal with final phase).
Also got a pretty nice hatred crit watcher's eye at the end. Funny I should finally get a decent watcher's eye after I hit level 100 and am finished with the league. All of the other ones I got this league were vendor trash, couldn't even sell them for 10c, though I did get an ilvl 86 elder astral plate during one of my runs, so can't complain too much.
If you're wondering how I managed to get such a silly build, I spent 1 lunar coin at a Shrine of Order which reshuffles all of your items. I ended up with 36 Tough Times which allowed me to block literally every attack and survive through the whole stage with 90 life (Got the Flawless achievement too). I was hoping to go through 20 stages and complete The Long Road on Monsoon difficulty, but again I am a dumbass and ended my own run. It was doing so well too :(
Forgot to record the zone information, but it was Depth 262 with 2 extra projectiles, endurance charges and physical added as cold damage. Nothing too crazy. This is only my 2nd time fighting him and I don't know his moveset very well. I pretty much tanked everything and relied on my build's insane leech + regen to survive lol.
Path of Building: pastebin.com/Zcq9gaHy
If you are playing a melee build with a two-handed weapon, you can put your main skill in your chest armor and boost your damage further with a 6L Vaal Ancestral Warchief in your weapon. In this case I am using Voidforge and Consecrated Path as my main damage skill. Also craft shock on focus on a ring so that you and all 5 of your Warchief buddies get a nice 20% damage bonus on nearby enemies.
I am a Guardian because I was originally gonna do something with herald of purity but then scrapped the idea. You can go Juggernaut with the same gear and passive tree and the build would be even easier to get started (tankier + don't need to worry about accuracy on gear). Lastly, who says melee isn't viable in 3.6? Just use two 6-links Kappa.
Path of Building: pastebin.com/45w9HALf
Was getting really bored waiting for Synthesis league so I decided to fight Shaper. This build is very experimental and is only intended for mapping, so it struggles a bit to deal single target damage. If I had gone HoWA molten strike it would've been quite strong I think, but where's the fun in that ;)
Permanent adrenaline is achieved by leaving 36% of my life pool unreserved, and linking blood magic to whirling blades. Just one whirling blade takes my life below 35% (into low-life), activating adrenaline.
Path of Building: pastebin.com/gCvy4KTR
This build is a proof of concept and I do not recommend it unless you are experienced.
Major Weaknesses of this build:
1. ES Duelist (lmao) - Really bad starting area, lots of points wasted. Also none of the duelist ascendancies gives ES builds any sort of quality of life. You will be fighting an uphill battle getting your defenses covered.
2. My Elemental Scaling is bad - Most elemental scaling attack builds should go full abyss gear and stack as many flat ele dmg jewels as they can. Since this is a special snowflake ES duelist build, I can't afford to give up any gear slots since I need all the ES I can get. So with half of the abyss jewels that a normal elemental attack build would have, I decided to play Lightning Strike (lmao). Perhaps the solution is to play a spellcaster instead, where most of the flat damage comes from the skill gem itself? Or play HoWA or something :S
3. Defenses are bad - Despite my best efforts to make this build tankier with triple-res balanced Wise oak, fortify, adrenaline, endurance charges, enfeeble, consecreated ground, etc, I still feel like I take too much damage and do not trust this build to survive in T15+ maps reliably against Syndicates. I am probably missing an important layer of defense since I don't usually play ES builds, admittedly.
Notes:
- Not technically low life because I have 36% life unreserved. Whirling blades linked with blood magic support takes my HP to low life status (below 35%) which activates adrenaline if I don't already have it. This setup is very easy to proc, and I can say that I basically have permanent adrenaline because of how reliable it is for me to activate it.
- Even though I have ghost reaver (life leech applies to ES), I can still regain my HP back to full with the claw LGOH implicit.
Edit: 3.6.0 Changes affecting this build - Inquisitor no longer gets 6% mana regen from Pious Path, instead it now grants 200 flat ES regen. So to make the build function similarly to the video above, you would have to go MoM + Eldritch Battery (with Devouring Diadem probably) and scale ES instead of mana. You would also get the added benefit of reserving more Auras and using a real ring instead of Essence Worm and real amulet instead of Atziri's Foible. You can also drop the Sulphur Flask or use Bottled Faith. You would probably play a spell instead of an attack skill to take advantage of the new ES leech support gem, or just getting ES leech from the tree. Overall this build can still do very well with some tweaks.
Testing how well my tanky mana build does against end game bosses. I decided to build my char around Pious Path instead of Inevitable Judgment for the nice consecrated ground effects. I also went Mind over Matter and Elemental Overload so that I can freely scale mana and mana regen and still do a little bit of damage.
Overall, I played very aggressively and tanked Shaper's slam, balls (I actually dodged/blocked most of them), and even got hit by a bullet hell projectile followed by a shaper beam and still survived. I knew I could play aggressively to make up for my low damage since I invested so heavily into life/mana gear. Not sure if the investment was worth it over a generic life based crit build, but I just like to experiment and waste exalts ;)
PoB: pastebin.com/shR0wnT2
Ladder: pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2191598
Here are some of the things I learned playing this race:
- Unless you are trying to win an alt-art demi in a competitive ascendancy, play very safe and don't be afraid to take your time. I was so pitifully slow going through campaign because I don't normally play SSF, let alone hardcore so it was a struggle. Playing safe paid off eventually because I geared my character up as people ahead of me on the ladder kept rushing to higher tier maps and dying. Eventually I became #1 slayer and I never gave up that position.
- Damage doesn't matter (too much). I know this is kind of a meme, but just get life nodes. If you want to make it far, your character should prioritize defenses over damage. The only places you should get damage are the best sources of it such as your weapon, stat stick, auras, flasks, highest more damage gems, and efficient skill points on the tree (figure it out with POB, aim for at least 2-3% DPS per point). Oh, and using a meta skill helps tons (vaal double strike is OP). This character, for example, only has around 4 clusters of damage nodes, yet clearly my damage was sufficient as demonstrated in this vid. The rest of my points went into life. I literally have 265% increased life on my skill tree and having an 8k life pool saved me on at least two occasions. So many things in this game are trivialized just by having a high life pool.
- Know what your build can handle and avoid everything else. For this particular build I had absolutely insane life leech per second (6100hp/s normally, over 9000hp/s with Arakaali active meaning I can full heal in less than a second, hence no life flask even needed). Anything that decreased my life recovery rate was a big no-no. So I re-rolled 60% less recovery maps and ignite maps which would negate a lot of my life leech. Also re-roll 3 or more damage mod maps because at some point you will get one shot by a devourer or something. It's not like there isn't an abundance of alchs/scours/chaos anyways.
- Craft a lot in SSF, don't wait for good items to drop. It's actually not that hard to get something decent. At a minimum you just want high life and resists. You can also easily craft a stat stick with two phys added as elemental damage mods on it. I crafted my belt (luckiest craft ever), stat stick, and helmet for this character.
- Have item rarity (yes, rarity) on your gear. Since this is SSF having more unique items drop means more chances of you getting a build enabling unique for your character. Worst case scenario, you just vendor the trash uniques for alch shards. Save up all your unique rings and vendor 60 for a loreweave (BIS chest for nearly every single build in the game).
Incursion-specific Advice
- Get chaos resistance and phase acrobatics. This is to save you from getting shotgunned by a firing squad of vaal constructs as so many people have fallen victim to it (check the ladder for Incursion Flashback SSF HC, it's a fucking graveyard). Once you have enough chaos resistance you can spec out of phase acro and get even more life.
- When you enter an incursion (or any area really), DON'T MOVE. You have a grace period. Look around to see if there are any dangerous packs near you. If it looks like they are already attacking, it's because you have a minion out and if you panic and move then that's how you get shotgunned by something aiming for your minion.
- When building your temple, prioritize getting item yield, pack size, item rooms, and map rooms. Some other decent rooms are sacrifice rooms, currency rooms, strongboxes, and breach. The rest are kinda bad. If you have to pick between two bad rooms (rooms that buff all monsters in the temple), just don't kill any architect. Kill the mobs and unlock the doors, ignore the architects.
- At some point, temples actually become inefficient for exp/hr. They are incredibly useful early on for building up a map pool, however since this is a flashback event there are more mobs than usual and therefore it is MUCH easier to sustain maps. Once you have a healthy supply of about 30+ maps in each red tier, it may actually be more efficient to do the incursions only for EXP and just completely skip temples (open in hideout and don't run it).
- Farm lower-tier temples/omnitects. You're looking to get a decent helmet with 10% of physical damage taken as elemental damage or a decent weapon with 10% of physical damage gained as chaos damage from the omnitect/temple chests. You can also try farming for tier 3 corruption rooms, sacrifice rooms, or gem rooms this way. The fastest way to spawn a temple is by running Quarry (campaign version) really quickly. Omnitech Fight: 5:00
Just showing you how much good loot you can get running a T15 temple. I ended up with 7 red maps including one guardian map. This is like T15 beachheads all over again in terms of how easy you can get maps. I don't even sextant and only chisel occasionally and I have more red maps than I know what to do with.
In terms of exp/hr it's pretty mediocre, especially if you did a poor job in your incursions and most doors are locked. However if you play SSF or if the league is dead and no one is trading anymore, the temple is incredible for sustaining maps and getting good loot.

Tl;dr: Keep all your shaped maps clustered together, move elder/shaper influence on them for extra mobs. Run 10 incursions on maps T11 or higher, and at least one incursion on a T15 map and you will get a T15 temple that can drop maps from ALL tiers (even guardians if you have them completed) for easy map sustain and profit.

How to get shaper memory fragment without completing/uncompleting any red maps (Credits to Karvarousku, check out Part 1 of his in-depth guide here: pastebin.com/7dtsb09N ). My version of his guide below:
Say you want to get a shaped T11 map. All you need to do is move elder influence onto any T6 map, buy the shaped T11 version of it and kill the boss for the memory fragment. Repeat this process for all the tiers.
In SSF, you would need to shape a T5 into a T10 map, save up 3 of those shaped T10 maps and 3 for 1 vendor to get the shaped T11 adjacent map. You could also try Vaaling a T10 and hope it gets upgraded to a T11 map. Move elder influence onto that adjacent map and run the shaped version of it for the memory fragment. Then unshape the T10 if it is undesirable. Repeat this process for all tiers.
ALWAYS RUN MAPS WITH ELDER/SHAPER INFLUENCE. Preferably elder, but shaper is better than nothing. It's basically like having a free sextant and helps with sustain a lot. This is the best you can do with the influence since permanent elder rings don't work anymore.
Your temple level is the average of your current set of 11 incursions plus four levels but CAPPED at the highest level map that you did in the 11 incursions. I think the most cost-efficient way to maximize your temple is by running the lowest tier maps still capable of giving a T15 temple (T11 maps) and then one T15. This results in a T15 temple which can drop T1-16 maps.
A full temple run on average gives me about 3-5 red maps, sometimes I can get over 10. I usually skip the Omnitech because spectral shield throw/my build sucks ass for boss killing and I don't wanna risk a death at lvl 97+. T16 maps drops are quite common and can sell for 35c+ in softcore.

I had already killed Shaper on this character before, but this time I managed to do it deathless. I know, it's yet another boring 2mil+ barrage DPS character that trivializes the Shaper fight, but I kinda have to make a video anyways so that I can look back on what I accomplished in Bestiary in the future. Sorry.
If I had the boot enchant for either added lightning damage or elemental penetration I could have done about 5% more damage. I was too lazy to farm it though, so my current boot enchant is absolutely useless against bosses.

Not the prettiest fight but it was deathless at least. I think I could played more aggressively. I might've even been able to kill Chayula before he used his cyclone attack but I was too cautious to approach because it's basically an instant death if I'm wrong. My gear also has barely any chaos res so each hit I took hurt a lot.
tldr: Shaped Underground Sea, 20% quality, 20%+ pack size, 2 sextants, perma-elder influence. You can technically sustain with just 20%+ pack size, 1 sextant and perma-elder. Go fast as you can, try not to pick up too much useless shit, and have a dump tab to minimize time in hideout between maps. Use Zana mods if you have chaos to spare - bloodlines/harbingers for map sustain, beyond for exp (especially if you have headhunter).
Level 100 Reached on 4/19/2018
I ended up using a different setup than what was shown in the video. Basically I had a QotF, watcher's eye with grace movement speed, a perfectly rolled Alchemist's Jade Flask of Reflexes (instead of basalt) and a Headhunter. I also specced into quick step on the passive tree. This was to maximize my clear speed. I didn't need to do this but it saved me a few extra days of repetitive grinding.

Atlas:
- T1-T9 - All completed.
- T10 - Shaped Haunted Mansion (if you ever run out of UGS, run this map to refill maps. The density and layout is very good as well). Alternatively, shape Maze instead and vendor 3 shaped maze for 1 underground sea.
- T11-12 - Shaped Underground Sea (All T11-12 map drops are Underground Sea).
- T13 - Shaped Shore (All T13-14 map drops are Shore. Armoury is the best density and layout but unfortunately not within my elder ring otherwise I recommend Armoury instead).
- T15+ All completed.
For elder ring help, use: http://poecraft.com/atlas
- Click the button on top right "Create an elder ring".
- Click the elder and guardian icon and place them on where your elder and guardians are on the atlas.
- Click "Find elder ring" and the site will automatically generate a list of possible rings you can make.
Why Underground Sea? It is one of the few red maps that a white sextant can reach which can save you some money in the long run. It also has very good density and the layout isn't too bad once you've figured it out.
Furthermore, a T11 map is still quite easy to sustain even with minimal investment so there will be no shortage of maps. If you want to move to higher tier maps, I recommend T12 Shaped Tribunal, T13 Shaped Armoury, T14 Shaped Waste Pool/Estuary, and T15 Shaped Siege.
I am currently lvl 98 but I think this is what I'll be doing until lvl 100. As expected it's really grindy, so listen to some good tunes or a podcast or watch a streamer/show on another monitor or something. The key is to go fast, so find a map that has good mob density, decent layout, and your build can clear it in under 2 mins hopefully.
To sustain money I am just selling my jewellers and fusings for chaos and buying sextants + chisels. If I need to I will also sell regrets, vaals, basically any currency I am not using. Alchs sustain themselves due to windripper MF, and underground sea frequently drops div cards that give you alchs so anybody can gain alchs running this map.
I am also actively trying to ID and sell uniques with high rolls or decent jewellery. If I really need to I will convert some exalts to chaos, or just spend a day doing chaos recipe. Also I completely forgot about selling beasts. There are lots of beasts you can sell for 5-10c easily. Capture all legendary beasts and ones with the craicic presence mod, as they are used for lots of high-tier beastcrafting.
If you have MF gear you can easily sustain money but I almost died a few times which is a big no-no even in softcore if you're pushing for 100. So yeah, no sadima's or goldwyrm even though I really want to. :(
