In this video, I take a beautifully cracked piece of cherry wood and transform it into a unique turned vase!
To save the piece and add some character, I filled in the cracks using Easy Inlay, then hollowed out the deep interior using Tim Yoder’s elbow tool. A final coat of natural Walnut Oil brought out the deep tones and stunning grain of the cherry.

Hi my name is Carl Jacobson,
I started woodworking with my grandfather as a young boy. I continued woodworking through high school, and started woodturning after seeing a turned project in a friends shop. Some of my fondest memories are working with my grandfather in his wood shop. Being able to share our passion for woodworking, ties it all together.
