4 Easy Headband Hairstyles For School In 5 Minutes Princess Hairstyles 2019-08-21 | Cute, no-heat headband hairstyles for every day wear! Hey guys! We are always looking for simple and quick hairstyles for school mornings and thought these headband styles from our channel would be perfect for back to school season. These "5 minute hairstyles" are all super easy but still look fashionable, even though they take very little effort! The headbands add a stylish finishing touch and of course can be changed up and matched to your outfit of the day.Hair tutorial #1 in this video features a fun twist on each side of her head, finishing in a low fishtail braid.Hairstyle #2 is a trendy half up hairstyle with hidden micro braids wrapping around the headband. Bandables Twisty Braids Headband Review and Tutorial | Back to School Hairstyles 2019 Princess Hairstyles 2019-08-07 | Today we are testing the "bandables twisty braids headband" by Localoc. We saw this at our local Walmart and thought it looked cute and fun to try. We are always looking for easy hairstyles for school mornings and thought it would be perfect for those days when you need a 5 minute hairstyle. (Which is pretty much every school morning at our house!) This would also be a great accessory for 2nd or 3rd day hair, to help disguise when it's looking slightly greasy. For those of you who are growing out your bangs, this would be fabulous as well! We liked that the little hair elastics held her hair back quite tightly without pulling or clamping her hair. We've tried similar options in the past (with barrettes or clips attached to the headband) and it seems you need exactly the right amount of hair to make those work. We've had trouble with the hair being too thick to clip the barrettes shut, or the hair being too thin and sliding right out. So, the elastics are a great option that will accommodate all different hair textures and thickness.There are many different hairstyles that can be created using this headband. We have shown just a few basic ideas in this video (a half up twist, a ponytail, and a dutch braid headband.) I think this would look really cute with curled, wavy, or crimped hair as well as straight. This would also be perfect for short hair, as well as long. So fun!If you play sports, I think this would be a nice option for keeping your hair out of your face. You could add a ponytail, bun, or braid and be ready to go.We unfortunately were not able to find this available to purchase online yet... I think it is too new. Baby Birds Hatching To Leaving The Nest In 5 Minutes! Princess Hairstyles 2019-06-05 | Hey guys! We normally don't post anything other than hairstyles on this channel, but once in awhile we see something so cool, we just have to share! Hope you don't mind something different today.This Spring we had a Robin build a nest and lay eggs in our backyard. We were able to document the process of them growing up and leaving the nest! We were shocked at how fast they went from 3 little blue eggs, to skinny bald pink creatures, to cute little chubby birds with feathers. The entire process took about 1 month. Around 2 weeks for the eggs to hatch, and another 2 weeks for the babies to grow and leave the nest. Crazy! We were so impressed with the mother bird and her dedication to her nest. We had the worst weather ever with wind, rain, hail, sleet, freezing temperatures, and snow! She kept the eggs and babies warm, fed, and safe and miraculously all 3 baby birds survived. Get ready with me for Prom - Hair tutorial, dress, and shoes! Princess Hairstyles 2019-04-24 | GRWM Prom! Come join us as she gets ready for her first Prom. We filmed as she got her Prom hairstyle done, showing step by step how to recreate it in a tutorial for you! She chose to wear a pretty updo with braids and twists and a sparkly headband as an accessory. This updo is great for long hair, but would also work for shorter hair. The buns could be easily adjusted for the length of hair you are working with. We love this updo because it looks fancy and gorgeous but is fairly quick and easy, and requires no heat or pre curling of her hair (except for the optional pieces we left out framing her face.) She went with a natural makeup look which her aunt helped her with, a statement necklace, and minimal earrings. As you can see in our video, her dress was a vintage style and very princess like! Today's hair tutorial shows how to hide your hair tie by wrapping hair around it, the easy way. This classic hair trick uses no bobby pins, extra elastics, or special hair tools (such as a topsy tail, clips, bungees, etc.) We call this the "fool proof" or no fail method because it works for us every time and is super easy and quick. How To Lace A Corset Back Dress For Prom Or Wedding Princess Hairstyles 2019-03-27 | Today we are showing how to tie or lace up a corset gown. Who knew it could be so complicated? ;) The technique shown will keep all of the ribbons coming in the same way for a neater look (instead of criss crossing every which way.) We also show how to tighten up the corset, starting at the top of the dress and working your way down. Depending on the thickness and texture of your ribbon, along with the size of the dress (and person wearing it) the corset will look a little different each time. The great thing about this type of dress is that it can fit a range of sizes. Also, you can tighten or loosen the corset where you need to for a custom fit for your body. I would recommend tightening enough that the dress feels snug, but not so tight that you are unable to breathe or move comfortably. You want to be able to sit and dance in the dress! She'll be going to her first Prom in a couple weeks! She's 16 and a Sophomore this year. We're not sure how much time she will have to get ready between her day date and the actual prom. These styles are both very simple and elegant.The 1st hairstyle is a half-up with the sides tied back into a standard knot. We have used a rhinestone clip to secure the knot on one side, adding some bling to the style. You could use a bobby pin to secure your knot if you don't want to use a clip.The 2nd hairstyle is a half up, half down ponytail which we flipped under with a topsy tail. Side Swept Formal Hairstyle For Prom Princess Hairstyles 2019-01-30 | Today's hair tutorial video features a gorgeous side swept Prom hairstyle! This style is easy enough to do on yourself at home (no braiding required) and fancy enough to wear to a formal dance. This upstyle would be perfect for Prom, Homecoming, Weddings (brides and bridesmaids) Communions, Quinceañera, Sweet 16 parties, dates, and other special occasions. A true Princess Hairstyle! My daughter just turned 16 and will be going to her first semi formal High School dance in a few weeks. We have been experimenting with several styles and she is trying to decide which one to wear. So many options! We love this one because it looks pretty from the front and the back. It would be great for pictures! We also love that this style is heat-less and quick and easy, but looks like you spent a lot of time and effort on it. Since everything is held together with elastics, I would imagine that this style would hold up well to dancing and not fall apart easily as well! The trick to making this hairstyle soft, pretty, and slightly messy looking (in a good way) is by gently pulling the twists apart for extra volume and fluff (as shown in our video.) Your partings and placements of the elastics don't need to be perfect either. Any imperfections just add to the charm of the style! We Bought A Fake Tyme Iron! Princess Hairstyles 2019-01-09 | Do "knock off" 2 in 1 straighteners and curling irons work? Today we are giving our review and tutorial of an off brand iron that looks a lot like the original Tyme iron called a "twist straightening iron." We had seen the ads on Facebook showing people effortlessly and quickly styling their hair with these irons and we wanted to try it. We thought we had bought it on sale, but later found out that the one we purchased was a knock off brand. Spoiler alert... the iron does work and we have learned to love the way it curls. But, we have only owned it for a few weeks, so I can't say how long it will last. I'm assuming the Tyme iron is built better and they offer a warranty. Also, 2 in 1 hair curlers and flattening irons that are set up like this have a pretty significant learning curve. It took me a lot of struggling to get it right. I've heard if you purchase a Tyme iron, they offer 1 on 1 tutorials through face time for free! Although, this technique can really be used for any time of the year. Just change up the color of ribbon for your event, school colors, or holiday! This ribbon chain braid is relatively easy to make and would be a pretty accent for tons of hairstyles. You could add this braid to an updo, a half up hairstyle, a side braid, ponytail, etc. We show an example with a fishtail braid at the end of our video.Some tips and tricks: Try to keep the ribbons flat as you are wrapping them around. If they twist, it won't look as tidy. Also, tying them all the same way will keep things neater. You can mix different widths, colors and textures of ribbon for different patterns. Braided Edge Banded Fishtail Braid (Part 2) Princess Hairstyles 2018-11-21 | Today we are showing a variation of a fun new braid that we posted last week. And although this braid looks like it could be difficult, it is actually quite easy to create!As mentioned in our hair tutorial, the only difference between this and last week's braid is the way that the fishtail strands are brought in. Last time we pulled the strands up through the ponytail, which made a reverse fishtail braid. We love this braid because it is easy, even for beginner braiders, but looks so unique and intricate. It is also less time consuming than most fishtail braids. You may remember the "twisted edge fishtail braid" we posted several years ago? Adorable Bow Tie Braid Ponytail Hair Tutorial | Princess Hairstyles Princess Hairstyles 2018-09-12 | This bow tie braid #ponytail is so cute and unique, it's sure to bring you compliments!You may remember the "bow tie braid" hairstyle we posted last year: youtube.com/watch?v=PrucL9zKKQA&t=1s This bow tie ponytail is a fun variation of that hairstyle. We are loving this ponytail method as it is easier and quicker than the original (since no french braids or dutch braiding is required.) The day my daughter wore this hairstyle, she had so many people ask her how to do it. It is definitely an eye catcher! We think the bows running down the ponytail are absolutely adorable. This hairstyle is quickly becoming one of our all time favorites!This style will work best with long or medium length hair. As mentioned in our video, you can adjust the number of bows you make (as well as the number of strands forming the bows) to the length and thickness of your hair. We used clear elastics for the center of our hair bows. Colored elastics could also be used for a fun twist. I think jewels or other hair bling would be so pretty placed in the center of the bows or over the elastics as well. And of course, if you want to hide the hair tie at the top of the ponytail, you could wrap it with hair before you start braiding.The best trick we can offer for creating this style is the use of hair product. It is so quick and easy and makes perfect #curls! We have been experimenting with different no heat curling methods for awhile now and have finally come up with a technique that we love. Most curls (without heat) techniques we have tried in the past require sleeping on uncomfortable tight buns, knots, rags, bobby pins, or curlers. We love this method because these small "buns" are loose, and not directly on your head, which doesn't pull or tug on your hair. These work especially well with long hair as you can place them at the ends and not feel any bumps while you sleep. Our favorite thing about these curls is that it literally takes less than 2 minutes to twist and wrap up your hair, and you only need 2 buns for an entire head of curls. Depending on your preference, you can choose to separate the curls by combing them out, or you can leave the ringlets more intact. We divided her hair into 2 sections to create these curls. Of course, if you prefer tighter or looser curls, you can adjust the amount of sections to your liking. We feel like pigtails make the perfect curls for her hair, but your hair may be different. The less sections you take, the looser the curls will be. Supplies needed: Just a few hair ties! You want them strong enough to hold the buns, but made from a soft and stretchy material that won't dent her hair. You'll want to wait several hours for the hair to dry. TESTING BENDABLE FOAM ROLLERS FOR BIG HEATLESS OVERNIGHT CURLS Princess Hairstyles 2018-07-11 | Today we are testing "Big Curls Bendable Rollers" by Conair. These foam rollers claim to "Turn heads with your hair! Provides the confidence great hair brings with affordable, high quality styling tools. For curls and waves with body and bounce, our rollers create style that lasts! The easiest hair roller ever! When we say Roll, Bend, and Set, we mean it, it's as simple as that. Big Curls- create soft, loopy curls by taking large sections and rolling hair to create your desired effect. Big Curls are perfect for night sets, as they are soft and bendable with no hard plastic parts to keep you awake! Wake up refreshed with natural looking curls without a dent or crease in sight. Big Curls can be used on damp or dry hair." (Quote taken from the original packaging on the box.)Directions on the box: *Smooth hair by brushing or combing.*Section the hair that you are curling and add a small amount of styling product. (Note that we did not do this step.)*Roll the hair all the way up in the direction that you want curl.*Bend the roller to hold it in place, the wire inside will maintain the bend.*Leave rollers in place for at least 20 minutes and if using on damp hair, please leave in until hair is dry.*Gently remove and finger comb curls in place.*Can be used with a blow dryer.Overall we feel like these curlers mostly lived up to their claims. It was super easy and quick to roll up her hair using the rollers and taking them out was very smooth since there are no clips or pins. We did not get quite as much curl as we would have liked, but partly this was caused by user error. We did not apply any hair product before placing the rollers (as mentioned in the instructions) and her hair was not completely dry when we took them out (which I believe was the main problem.) I would be very surprised if these actually would've stayed in overnight without using our elastic trick (as shown in the video.) Although we did not test them on their own to confirm. We definitely plan on using these again just for the fact that they were so quick and easy to take in and out and were relatively comfortable to sleep on. HOW TO MAKE A FAUX HAWK FAN | HALF UP HAIRSTYLE Princess Hairstyles 2018-07-03 | Our hairstyle this week features a trendy dutch braid faux hawk look with twist braid "fans" feeding into each side of the half up braid.This would be a great style for all ages (teens included) and would be cute for many occasions: School, work, concerts, dances, dates, church, etc.This hairstyle is inspired by a similar braid we did on our channel back in 2014 called the "shooting star" which is still one of our all time favorite hairstyles: youtube.com/watch?v=yc8T_0dlC8I This time we wanted to go for more of an edgy look!Tips for recreating this hairstyle: Stretch the sides of the main braid for a more voluminous faux hawk. This is an easy, inexpensive, DIY, homemade graduation gift that every graduate would love to wear... and eat!Our oldest son is graduating from High School today actually. (Congratulations class of 2018!) So, we wanted to share the fun Hawaiian and Polynesian inspired candy lei we chose to make him for his graduation ceremony. And since this is normally a braiding channel, we thought this would fit right in!The awesome thing about gummy worms is that they come in all different colors and varieties, so you can pick out the worms that match your school colors or event. You could also make a pretty multicolored lei using random colors if you want. A dutch braid, combined with a popular fan messy bun technique gives this standard rolled double bun a fun bow look!My daughter often wears this tucked bun (without the braid) as a quick hairstyle for school. Masons Wisdom Teeth Removal, Hilarious Aftermath! Princess Hairstyles 2018-04-11 | Our oldest son Mason got his wisdom teeth out recently and his reaction was too funny! We have enjoyed watching wisdom teeth videos in the past (one of our favorites is from our friends Brooklyn and Bailey) and decided to set up a camera in our car to catch the aftermath just for our family. We all laughed so hard watching our normally cool, calm, and collected 18 year old regress back to acting more like a 3 year old in this footage! We decided this was too funny not to share on YouTube (with his permission of course.) So, we are postponing our regular content this week with the hope that this will brighten someone's day and that you will get a laugh out of it. Our favorite part of the video is his high pitched voice and strange accent he was using. He sounds and acts nothing like this normally, which is why we find this so hilarious. He couldn't believe he was acting and talking like this when he watched the video back and says he remembers almost nothing from the time we got to the dentist, during the procedure, driving to Tropical Smoothie, the pharmacy, or until he had been home for about an hour.A little introduction to Mason: He is a senior in High School and will graduate in just a couple months. He is on the cross country team, tennis team, FBLA, plays the cello in the orchestra, and is a good student. He is getting ready to serve a 2 year mission for our church after he graduates, and then plans on attending college.Hope you enjoyed watching this as much as we did!P.S. 3 Strand Pull Through Braid And 5 Ways To Wear It! Princess Hairstyles 2018-04-04 | Hi Guys! Today we are showing how to make a 3 strand pull through braid and 5 cute hairstyle ideas for finishing the style. We have shown a standard pull through braid tutorial as well as the reverse braid on our channel in the past: youtube.com/watch?v=_NjxZdZ8gj4&t=2s but have not filmed this 3 strand variation up until now. We first saw this awesome and original braid by @prettylittlebraids on Instagram. This is probably our favorite variation of the pull through braid since it looks so full, gorgeous, and voluminous! This edgy braid has the look of a "faux hawk" and would be great hairstyle for dance competitions and other sports. Since this braid is tethered with elastics all the way down, it holds up really well to most activities.This braid could be used to create many different hairstyles and can be worn along the scalp in a "french braid" look, or in a ponytail without adding in hair from the sides of the braid. We have included 5 tutorials for some of our favorite ways to wear this braid:1. 3 strand pull through braid faux hawk with ponytail.2. 3 strand pull through braid and flip braid combo.3. Pull through and fishtail braid combo.4. Pull through ponytail with micro braids.5. Standard 3 strand pull through braid from top to bottom.A few tips and tricks: If you prefer to use less elastics, it is possible to gather a new section at the same time you are securing the 3 strands. But, I have found it much easier to make all of the ponytails first and then double up on the elastics as you make the braid. Everything seems to turn out neater and smoother when I do it this way. Also, as mentioned in our video, the braid turns out better for me when I stretch out each individual section before moving on to the next (as it prevents the layer beneath the one you are working on from being disturbed as you are stretching the strands out.) Hair Hack! Make A Pull Through Braid With Half The Elastics Princess Hairstyles 2018-03-21 | Hey guys! We love the look of the pull through braid... but hate taking out all of those elastics at the end of the day. Today's tutorial or "hair hack" shows how to make a pull through braid ponytail hairstyle using only 1/2 of the elastics you would normally need! This will hopefully save you some time, frustration, and damage to your hair the next time you want to wear a pull-through braid.The trick to this hair cheat is adding elastics to only one strand of the braid instead of both strands (like you normally would.) As mentioned in our video, you will need to be careful to keep your strands separated and on the same side of the braid from the top to the bottom, or this will end up looking more like a regular 3 strand braid, and less like a pull through. Swirling Braids Half Up Hairstyle For Long and Medium Hair Princess Hairstyles 2018-03-14 | For today's hairstyle tutorial, we have combined a simple knotting technique and some braids to create a gorgeous and unique braided half up hairstyle for long and medium length hair. We're loving the intricate "criss cross" look of these swirling braids. A princess hairstyle! I could see this working as an everyday hairstyle for school, or for special occasions (Prom, Homecoming, recitals, church, weddings, communions, etc.) This style is surprisingly easy and fairly quick to make and should hold up decently well, since it is secured with braids on both sides of the delicate knot. As mentioned in our video tutorial, the trick to getting this hairstyle to look nice and to stay in place, is all in how you tie the knot and cross the strands underneath before you start braiding. We also suggest stretching the strands in the knot for a more voluminous and elegant looking style.
