Later…My Thoughts On Bambu Labs Printers… Fixing My A1 Recall Issue Major Hardware 2024-07-06 | I have always been a fan of Bambu Labs printers, ever since using the X1-C for the first time I still think Bambu Lab makes some of the best if not the best 3D printers currently available. However that doesn’t mean they are without fault. Not long ago they announced a recall for their A1 printer. The issue had to do with the heated build plate cable wearing unexpectedly fast. Bambu Lab recommended everyone stop using the printer until they received replacement parts. So that’s what I did, when that alert came out in February I just shut my A1 off and waited. Not long ago the part finally showed up, so today we see how hard the retrofit is and we talk about my other Bambu printers and the issues I have had with them after using them for more than 3100 hours.

Although road tripping an EV isn’t that bad and is getting better each day it was just something I didn’t want to mess with. So I leased a 2019 Ram 1500, a vehicle I planned to have until my wife got a new car. However we all know what happened in 2020 and I ended up buying out my lease as that was the only real option. Fast forward to 2024 my wife now drives a 2021 GMC Arcadia so I was back in the market. While I waited I decided I wanted something with a bit more performance then a long range model Y so I decided I get the New 2024 model 3 performance. After having this car now for about a month and driving it just shy of 1000 miles what are my thoughts and did I make the right choice.

I Built a Static Pressure Machine | Fan Showdown Season 6 Pilot Major Hardware 2023-12-01 | I was looking through the Fan Showdown submissions which got me thinking, maybe its time again to shake things up a bit. I have always wanted to compare fans based on which one can produce the most static pressure. This was the idea behind season 5 test bench, each fan pushed air through a radiator then using a anemometer we measured that airflow to try and infer what fan was producing the most static pressure. However this wasn't a perfect solution, to get a real static pressure reading we need to use a monometer. Now, before I go out and try and find a monometer that will work with PC cooling fan I wanted to try and create a DIY solution. The video was called "Wirtz pumps are really clever". This video caught my eye because I had never heard of this type of water pump before. This inspired me to try and create one, not just to see if I could but I also wanted to know could this almost 250 year old pump be used to cool a CPU. After a bit of looking around I then learned the Wirtz pump shares a lot in common with another type of pump called the Coil Pump. Within that car was a switch that was new to me, right behind the shifter was a toggle switch with a picture of an intercooler on it. When you activated this switch small sprayers in the bumper would spray water onto the intercooler. They did this to reduce the inlet air temperature and to increase engine power. Now an intercooler is just a fancy radiator so I figured since we use radiators in our PC's then this technique would also work there as well. So using what I learned from my Evo 8 intercooler sprayer I built a radiator sprayer for my custom loop to see what if any performance can be gained by doing so.

I Copied Noctuas A12x25 and Resin Printed it, Its Performance Was ASTONISHING Major Hardware 2023-03-05 | I see two comments pop up quite often in my videos. The first is, how much better would these fans be if they were printed in on a SLA printer. the second is, how much performance is lost just by 3D printing process. Today we look at both of these comments and try and figure what the answer is.I took the Nocuta A12x25 and tried my best to design a copy of it. I then took that copy and printed two fans. One is printed using the FDM process the other printed using the SLA process. This is a THERMAL DISASTER - Cleaning my gaming laptop for the first time in 2+ YEARS Major Hardware 2023-01-02 | I have been guilty of this more then once, you buy a gaming laptop and its awesome. However, after a few years you notice it seems slower then it once was, you say to yourself, it must be time for an upgrade. However more times then note it just needs a good cleaning. I have had a Asus ROG zephyrus Duo 15 for just over two years now. Recently its drop in performance has become noticable. Routinely the temps are in the 90's and I have lost more frames then I can count. That being said, I love this little laptop and im not ready to let it go.
