A normal question we hear a lot is whether the tree or building between you and the remote site will be a problem for a directional antenna.
In this antenna David explains how the tree or building is already a problem, and it seems quite common (or logical) to think a directional antenna will have a problem...but the problem of the obstruction was already there before the directional antenna was introduced.
There are ways to manage the obstruction, but choosing an omni antenna over the directional antenna is probably not one of them.
