Part 2 highlights. I miss the Swedes, don't you ? Edberg, Wilander, Anders Jarryd, Joachim Nystrom, Enqvist, Mikeal Pernfors, Caterina Lindqvist and of course, The King, Bjorn Borg. The chain has been broken in Swedish Tennis (ie one Champion succeeds another).
Another thing, Mats was a good all round player who COULD COMPETE & RETURN BIG SERVES ON GRASS. He won the Australian Open in 1983 and 1984 and lost to Edberg in 1985 but at Wimbly he could only reach the Quarterfinals twice (1987 and 1988). Maybe the Wimbledon Lawn surface was too fast and/or low bouncing surface for Mats to adapt his game to, in particular his return of serve. I should add that he won the doubles at Wimbly in 1986 (with Joachim Nystrom). OLD TIMES THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN...
