Soviet Union was a sole leader of a Space Race during a Cold War since 1957 till 1969. Nearly all space achievments belonged to the USSR. Still, it was Neil Armstrong who made his giant leap for mankind on July 20, 1969. But why did the Soviet cosmonauts fail to take this small step to the Moon when everything was ready for it?
