Mario kart 8 deluxe has a lot of great tracks, and with 48 more tracks coming in as DLC with the booster course pack there is a lot of competition for what is the best tracks. The DLC so far has been primarily focused on retro tracks so far, which has some pretty strong competition from the base mario kart 8. Something that may be even MORE difficult to decide is what is the best Retro CUP in mario kart 8 deluxe, and while this may change due to DLC, I personally think the lightning cup is the best overall in the game. It consists of the tracks Tick Tock Clock from mario kart ds, Piranha Plant Slide from mario kart 7, Grumble Volcano from Mario Kart Wii, and Rainbow Road from mario kart 64. These range from being pretty good to some of the best retro tracks in the entire series.
