In this video, we’re taking a closer look at the way some of Brian Carn’s members and supporters talk about him—because at times, the comparison seems to go far beyond simply respecting a pastor or defending a spiritual leader.

Some of the rhetoric surrounding Brian Carn can make it sound as though his suffering, criticism, legal troubles, and opposition are being compared to the persecution experienced by the Apostle Paul. But is that a biblical comparison, or is this another example of putting a preacher on a level that Scripture never gives him?
Paul suffered because he preached the gospel. He was beaten, imprisoned, persecuted, and eventually killed because of his faithfulness to Christ and his apostolic mission. That is very different from assuming that every consequence, controversy, criticism, or legal problem involving a modern preacher automatically qualifies as persecution for righteousness.
This is where discernment matters.
Just because someone is criticized does not make them Paul.
Just because someone goes to jail does not make them a persecuted apostle.
And just because people oppose a preacher does not automatically mean that preacher is suffering for Jesus.
In this episode, I’ll examine the statements being made about Brian Carn, the loyalty surrounding his ministry, and why Christians should be careful about turning pastors into untouchable spiritual celebrities.
We can respect church leadership without idolizing it. We can pray for someone without rewriting the circumstances surrounding them. And we can show grace while still asking whether someone’s teaching, conduct, prophetic claims, and leadership are consistent with Scripture.
The Apostle Paul himself welcomed biblical examination and repeatedly pointed people toward Christ—not toward blind loyalty to himself.
So when modern Christians begin talking about their favorite preacher as though every critic is an enemy, every consequence is persecution, and every controversy proves that the preacher is specially anointed, we need to ask whether we are defending biblical leadership or creating a personality cult.
