Why is religious identity still the “silent diversity” at work?
In the latest episode of Sparks by PRCA, hosted by Jared Meade as part of the PRCA Equity & Inclusion Advisory Board (EIAB) series, we tackle one of the most overlooked, and misunderstood, areas of DEI.
Joining the conversation are Professor Binna Kandola OBE, one of the UK’s leading voices on bias and organisational culture, and Michal Oshman, culture and leadership expert and former Global Head of Company Culture at TikTok. Together, they explore why faith is so often missing from inclusion conversations and why that needs to change.
In this episode, we unpack:
• Why religious identity remains invisible in many DEI strategies, despite around 85% of employees globally identifying with a faith
• How unconscious bias and workplace norms can silence people of belief
• The fear many organisations have of “getting religion wrong” and how to move beyond it
• What PR and communications teams can uniquely influence when it comes to religious inclusion
• Practical steps agencies and in-house teams can take now to help employees feel safe bringing their whole selves to work
With rising awareness of religious discrimination and growing expectations on employers to act, this conversation is both urgent and essential listening for anyone working in PR, communications, or people leadership.
🎙️ Tune in to hear how we can move religious inclusion out of the shadows and into the heart of DEI.
