Went into a June safari at Pench National Park expecting 45°C heat, but the jungle had other plans! 🌧️🐅

My first safari with @pugdundeesafaris didn’t have a single big cat sighting at first. Monsoon showers washed the dust off the forest, cooled the air, and pushed animals deep into cover instead of crowding waterholes. With fewer vehicles and quieter tracks, we enjoyed breakfast on the bonnet, listened to birdsong, and watched jackals and bison without a crowd chasing a tiger.

Then, during our evening safari, when I finally stopped looking for one—Lakshmi showed up out of nowhere with zero alarm calls! But as soon as one noisy jeep pulled up, she vanished back into the foliage.

The biggest lesson? The day you stop hunting for the tiger is usually the day the jungle actually shows itself to you. Next stop: Tadoba!
