Day 34/42: Knowledge Cutoff

Yesterday, we talked bias.
Today, time catches up.

LLMs don’t update themselves.

A knowledge cutoff means the model only knows the world up to a certain date.

Ask about something newer, and it may:
guess,
hallucinate,
or sound confident but wrong.

This is why retrieval matters.
