I want to love Lahai-Roi, but so far, Kuro are making all the same mistakes.

Ever since its launch, I’ve seen many people praise Wuthering Waves for its focus on being a game first, and a gacha second.
Much of what they’ve built has avoided the anti-patterns and manipulative practices which plague other popular gachas, including many key aspects of this new region. In some places, Lahai-Roi has been brilliant at the “game” part of the equation.
But when it comes to the story?
While several chapters of Rinascita lived up to the game’s potential, many were very clearly “gacha first, game second” ...but there were reasons to hope the new region would flip that on its head, and finally leave those storytelling flaws behind.
Instead, it left me incredibly disappointed.
